God Help Me; I Agree With Bob Beckel

Something happened that made me stop and question myself as a Republican, am I one, or have I drifted over to the dreaded Liberal side of the aisle? After all, I have considered myself a Republican since I was sixteen years old.  That question rang in my head and I could not get it out, after all, me becoming a Liberal is like Bill Ayers joining the NRA, or Sandra Fluke buying her own birth control pills, it just would not happen. So the only conclusion that I can come to, is that Mr. Beckel is finally coming to his senses and he is starting to lean right on his thinking.

The two things that started me thinking, were when Mr. Beckel said that we should stop letting Muslims into this country with student visas and also admitted that Muslims are indeed the enemy, something that Obama still refuses to admit, I agree with him on both counts. Our enemy are Muslims, so why wouldn’t we scrutinize them more than anyone else? Now if anyone else on Fox had said the same things that Mr. Beckel said, they would have been branded a racist on every Liberal outlet, but because he belongs to their club, he gets a pass, funny how that works.

“I think we really have to consider, that given the fact so many people hate us, we’re going to have to cut off Muslim students from coming to this country for some period of time, so that we can at least absorb what we got, look at what we’ve got and decide whether some of the people here should be sent back home or sent to prison,” As Mr. Beckel spoke those words while I was watching one of my favorite shows The Five, I immediately got up and grabbed a Q-Tip to clean out my ears, because I thought there might be something wrong with my hearing.

Mr. Beckel also said, “If the FBI could not deal with this fellow in Boston with all they had on him, it seems to me that we ought to give time for them to clear up their problems with the current Muslim population here and then let students come back in.”

Mr. Beckel is correct. There are now 75,000 foreign students from Muslim countries attending college in the U.S. and 20,000 more on the way in the fall. According to unofficial inquiries made to the Department of Homeland Security, agencies involved in screening students after they receive visas are said to be backlogged on making contact with the new U.S. arrivals. The big problem here is that some of these foreign students never enroll in a U.S. college once they get here. When their visa runs out, they stay here illegally without identification or residence notification.

There was also another time I found myself agreeing with Mr. Beckel, it was during the Amazing Race controversy. On the show, the twisted metal of the downed plane is treated as any other prop, with a bright “Amazing Race” “Double-U-Turn” signed planted in front of it, signifying to contestants the next phase of their scavenger hunt.
“There are 850,00 American Vietnam veterans alive today, and you owe them an amazing, big apology,” Beckel said, noting he once worked for CBS, and had even been against the war for “policy” reasons.

That’s three times I found myself agreeing with a Liberal, that’s more than I agreed with a Liberal in my sixty years on this earth, so I naturally had to question my Republican thinking. Then it dawned on me, I wasn’t the one who was changing, it was Mr. Beckel who was coming over to my side. I guess after all those years working on Fox, his head is finally getting out of the clouds and he is finally coming down to reality. Good for you Mr. Beckel, every Liberal has to wake up and smell the coffee and realize that Liberal policies just don’t work. Keep up the good work Mr. Gutfeld, Mr. Bolling, Miss Perino, Miss Tantaros, Miss GuilFoyle, you will have him voting Republican in 2016.

Bob Beckal Drops the F-Bomb Again

Bob Beckel co-host of The Five on Fox News Channel

It wasn’t the first time, and it probably won’t be the last time, but co-host of The Five on the Fox News Channel, Bob Beckel dropped the “f-bomb” on live television, again.

During a panel discussion about Rep. Paul Ryan’s plan to reform Medicare, fellow co-host Eric Bolling hit Beckel in the arm.

Beckel immediately stopped talking, and moments later had his “lapse of common sense”.

“If you do that one more time, you’re f**king toast!” Beckel screamed at Bolling, then immediately covered his mouth when he realized what he just said.

Bolling and the rest of The Five co-hosts continued on with their point, but it was as if no one was listening. Everyone was still shocked with Beckel’s on-air foul. Unlike the first time Beckel dropped the “f-bomb” on live tv, Beckel apologized under his own power at the end of the segment, and again at the end of the show.

At the beginning of the next segment, Bolling came on air apologizing for hitting Beckal hard in the arm and instigating the situation.

Then at the end of the show, Beckel added $20 into his swear jar, then Bolling threw in $100 because he felt responsible for the whole fiasco.

Bob Beckel Loses It On Hannity, Yells “F*CK” Live On The Air

bob_beckel

H/T The Gateway Pundit

Bob Beckel wasn’t being very gentlemanly when he appeared on Hannity’s Great American Panel last night. He dropped a major F-bomb live on the air, and refused to apologize.

Update: Unbeknownst to me, there is another video, as so accurately pointed out my gracious colleague, that does show Bob Beckel apologizing. Please see the 2nd video at this link, where, as Mediaite points out, Bob Beckel refused to believe he was on air when he said what he said, but he does eventually apologize.

Unlike what my colleague would have you believe in his post, never once did I refuse to correct my original post; at the time of my post I had not seen the Mediate update, nor did I see the update at The Blaze.

I still stand by my original statement that it was quite ungentlemanly of Mr. Beckel, and it was only after he finally realized he was on air that he apologized. So, as Paul Harvey used to say, that’s the “rest of the story”- the real truth!

Fox News’s Bob Beckel Drops “F-Bomb” on Hannity

Fox News Channel’s resident and passionate Liberal, Bob Beckel, got into a heated discussion with his fellow panelists on Hannity last night.

Thinking the show was still on commercial break, he told Jennifer Stefano that she did not know what the <blank> she was talking about.

A lot of websites have been spinning this in a way that looks like Bob did not apologize for using the curse word, but if you watch the video in this link, you will see that he did, in fact, apologize once he realized that he had said the word on air.  A warning though, it contains the F-bomb, and as such, is not very safe for work.

What do you guys think?  Is this the last straw for Bob Beckel, or do you think his job is/should be safe?  Let us know in the comments below.

Beckel pulls race card on .. Allen West??

For those who’re unaware of the big dust up stirred by Fl Rep Allen West, here’re the remarks he made at a Lincoln Day Dinner in West Palm Beach Fl:

We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and my dear friend the chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain’t on the table. Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.

These remarks led Bob Beckel, co-host of FOX News Channel’s “The Five” to blow a gasket on Monday:

I’ll tell you this, Mr. West; When you start shooting your mouth off like that – and I admire the fact that you were in the military and you served your country. I understand that. But before you start saying that, at the end of it, you said ‘Get the hell out of the United States,’ then you didn’t say the policies. Now, there’s 20 percent of us or 22 percent of us that happen to be Progressives, who believe in what Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi say. You go on to say 100 percent of America. We’re 20 percent of America and we’re not going anywhere whether you like it or not. And you better be careful, my friend, because you’re getting on the edge there and you’re taking that Tea Party crowd with you.

Greg Gutfeld, Beckel’s co-host, argued that Beckel’s outrage was misguided, saying:

During the break, I made a list of outspoken black liberals. Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan, Black Panthers, Jesse Jackson, Angela Davis, Cornel West, Public Enemy, Eric Dyson! In our culture, we celebrate outspoken black leftists. So, now you have one, provocative, American, black conservative, and you liberals whine? I wanna’ see more Allen West. He’s not the first one, but he’s the beginning. And it’s refreshing–

To which Beckel responded: “You wanna’ see more of that hatred? You wanna’ see that kind of hatred in America?” Gutfeld countered: “That’s not hatred.” Beckel reiterated “It is hatred. It’s the worst most disgraceful, despicable, disgusting—“

Mr. Beckel, with all due respect, you are wrong. What Allen West said was not hate. Your being a “progressive”, that’s how you’re programmed to respond to anyone who disagrees with you…emotionally

Consider these “progressive” accusations targeting me after the Gabby Giffords shooting:

“I guess you must be happy with yesterday’s shooting in Arizona. Sheriff Dupnik certainly was right on with the vitriolic hate espoused by radio and television personalities. Is this your answer to everyone who disagrees with you?”

“I just thought you’re happy that there is another dead Democrat. Isn’t that what you and your party want? All of us who disagree should be killed? I thought you liked that. Am I wrong? You care what happened to those people who were hit or killed? You have a heart? Wow! Had us fooled.”

Or that another “progressive”, with finger wagging, told me point blank to my face over dinner that if it was left up to them, I “would be silenced”.

That’s hatred Mr. Beckel. What Rep West said was not an emotional expression of hatred. It was a clear reference to the battle of ideas being waged in this country. Rep West is 100% correct.

The American idea, the shot heard round the world, is that We The People can govern ourselves. We are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable Rights. By virtue of our humanity we are entitled to the maximum amount of Individual Liberties consistent with law and order, and to the Right of private ownership, including the Right to own and decide for ourselves. These Liberties and Rights are to be equally protected by a Constitutionally limited, representative government that derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. This is a distinctly exceptional American idea.

The “progressive” idea is that an all-powerful centrally planned government, with extreme hostility towards private ownership, forces redistribution of wealth through “progressive” taxation in the name of social or economic “justice”. In order to ensure “fairness”, an oligarchy of self-imagined, self appointed ”intellectual elite” must be responsible for controlling businesses, industries and “the masses” who are incapable of governing themselves. This was the position of a radical, fringe political minority who called themselves “progressives” until early twentieth century Americans saw for themselves exactly how bad ”progressive” ideas really were, forcing ”progressives” to change their label to “liberal”. This idea came to America from Britain’s Fabian Socialists and Germany’s Frankfurt School. This is a European idea, not an American one.

Among red-blooded patriotic Americans whose brains haven’t been polluted by “progressive” ideas, there’s little debate that as designed by our Founders, the United States of America is the most inventive, productive, prosperous and charitable nation in the history of the planet. There has yet to be put forth a rational, logical argument to support abandoning the highly successful American idea in favor of a European idea that’s currently failing in Europe itself.

If you and your 20-22% want to live in a European style system, move to Europe. When you get there, send Europeans who want to live in America under our system to America. America will greatly benefit from that exchange.

Bob Beckel: Liberals Created A Dependent Society With Welfare

We live in a world of “Gotcha Journalism” that greases its wheels with quotes like the one in this video.  That is why I’m going to try to share it responsibly.  Bob Beckel, the “resident Liberal” at Fox News, made a startling comment today on The Five.  When briefly discussing entitlements, he said that Liberals had made a “terrible mistake” with things like public housing and welfare, and that they had inadvertently created a “dependent society”.  Video is below.

As a conservative audience, I can see the temptation to jump on Beckel’s quote and exploit it for all it’s worth.  Here we have a Liberal stating point blank that their policies have not only failed, but he’s implying that damage has been done to society.  It’s a pretty damning and powerful statement.

Judging by the reaction I got when I shared this quote on Twitter, there is much to exploit in the video, but… I think there is another powerful statement when you consider the full context of things.  Try, if you can, to imagine this being said on any other network.  You definitely would not have a Liberal admit something like this on MSNBC.  And even a milquetoast network like CNN wouldn’t dare to make such a proclamation.  You only get lucid moments like this on Fox News, and it’s sad.  And I have to say “lucid moments”, because it’s not like Fox is that much above the fray.  They have plenty of partisan reporting on their part too.  It’s just that every now and then, someone has the courage or the ability to speak truthfully, and for that I thank them.

Bob definitely gave the Right Wing something to crow about with this quote, but I also think he gave us, as Americans, something to think about:  If we’re ever going to actually solve some of the problems in this nation, we’re going to have to admit the instances where our side is wrong.
