Joe Soptic: Anti-Romney steelworker admits Bain Capital offered him a buyout

Well, well, well… the truth comes out! Mr. Soptic got caught in a big ole stinky lie! Not only does he finally admit that Bain Capital offered him a buyout when he lost his job, but Mr. Soptic’s wife actually died five years after the plant closed down. This was in 2006. Then there’s the issue that Mitt Romney left Bain Capital in 1999- SEVEN YEARS before Mr. Stopic’s wife died!

According to Business Insider, Mr. Soptic’s wife was not insured by Bain Capital, but was instead insured by Savers Thrift Store, her employer. Mrs. Soptic was laid off from her job in 2002 or 2003, and at that time lost her health insurance.

So Mr. Soptic’s sad, pitiful story about him losing his job had absolutely nothing to do with his wife losing her job, which in turn meant she lost her insurance. Therefore, Mitt Romney has absolutely no connection with the death of Mrs. Soptic.

Liar, liar, pants on fire, Mr. Soptic! You should be ashamed of yourself, exploiting your wife’s death!

Romney ‘The Search’

An email is circulating with a story about Mitt Romney’s time at Bain Capital. No, it’s not about when he left the business but about a less known incident when a partner at the firm’s daughter, after sneaking out to attend a Rave, became lost in New York. Romney, it’s said, closed the company and took all the employees to NYC to search and publicize the girl’s disappearance.

You can read the whole story here at Politifact.

But in 30 seconds you can hear about the incident from the dad himself. It’s a touching ad from 2007.

Obama’s OMB Director Came From Bain Capital

Uh oh, here’s another report that must have slipped out while David Axelrod and the Obama campaign team wasn’t watching. Have y’all ever heard of Jeff Zients? He is the current director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) in the President Barack Hussein “kill list” Obama administration. And guess where he got his start! That’s right: Bain Capital. That’s the same Bain Capital that DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz has castigated, saying that Romney got rich off the backs of or at the expense of middle class workers.

Zients worked at Bain from August, 1988, to June, 1990. While at Bain, Zients reported to Mary Menell, another Bain employee. She was four years his senior, and subsequently became his wife. They now have four children. They were married in South Africa, Menell’s homeland, with Menell’s parents’ friend Nelson Mandela in attendance. In the interest of full disclosure, I have a daughter in South Africa, and she just married a guy from there. But neither of them hang out with Nelson Mandela or his ilk.

Zients left Bain to return to Washington to become an entrepreneur. After Zients donated to 2008 Democrat presidential candidate Obama, Obama set up a new position, “chief performance officer.” Then fellow entrepreneur, Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, says he floated Zients’ name. Coincidence? I’m suuuuuuuuuuuuure that Zients was, in Warner’s view, the most qualified man for the job. BTW, when Zients was appointed OMB director, the White House failed to mention that he (or his wife) had worked at Bain.

Zients was listed as one of the 40 richest Americans under 40, with a net worth conservatively estimated at around $200 million. Does that make him one of the hated and despised 1%?.

One of Obama’s top campaign strategist, David Axelrod, criticized Romney for having a “Bain mentality.” Does that mentality extend to Zients and his wife as well? On that, Axelrod did not comment.

The appointment of Zients in January, 2012, did little to slow attack ads from the DNC against Mitt Romney as an evil job-outsourcer CEO. For example, Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the attacks on Mitt Romney as a “jobs outsourcer” won’t stop, despite findings to the contrary at FactCheck.org.

I guess the Obama campaign strategy of hypocrisy and attack will never cease since that’s all upon which it has to run.

But that’s just my opinion.

One Way Transparency

White House spokesman Jay Carney dismissed Donald Trump’s position that should today’s Oval Office occupant keeps insisting Mitt Romney release his tax returns; Romney demand that barry soetoro, barrack hussein obama, or whatever his name is first make his college records public information.  Rather than address the issue at hand, the administration consciously chose to launch into an Alinsky style personal attack on Trump.  Carney called the suggestion “preposterous”, dismissing Trump as “The guy who insisted that he didn’t believe the president was born in the United States”.

Never mind that the current White House occupant signed an Executive Order hiding every last one of his personal documents from public view on his first day in office.  For “the most transparent administration in history”, transparency is meant for everyone else, not themselves.

In typical “progressive” do as I say, not as I do fashion, the White House has launched repeated attacks on the presumptive GOP presidential nominee over questions about the timing of his departure from private equity firm Bain Capital.  One re-election campaign spokeswoman suggested that Romney possibly committed a felony.  The White House and fellow “progressive” Democrats keep insisting that companies filed for bankruptcy or shipped jobs overseas under Romney’s Bain leadership and that he only wants to help fellow millionaires, not working people.  Romney has maintained he is not responsible for many of those decisions because they took place after he took a leave of absence in February 1999 to oversee the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games.  According to recently released documents, regulatory filings show that Romney was still in charge of Bain through 2002.  However, Bain officials, including Democrats, say that he was not involved with the company’s day-to-day operations during that time.

The White House and other “progressives” within the Democratic Party are also criticizing Romney for setting up offshore bank accounts and refusing to release additional information concerning his personal fortune, estimated to be as much as $250 million.

“John McCain ran for president and released two years of tax returns. John Kerry ran for president, and his wife, who has hundreds of millions of dollars, she never released her tax returns. Somehow this wasn’t an issue.  The Obama people keep on wanting more and more and more, more things to pick through, more things for their opposition research to try and make a mountain out of and distort and to be dishonest about.” Romney countered in a television interview.

“progressives” keep insisting that Romney’s “secrecy” goes to the “trust factor”.  When it comes to secrecy and the trust factor, how on earth can policy wonks who insist on hiding the Oval Office occupant’s entire past claim even a glimpse of, much less a hold on the moral high ground?  Despite their horrendously duplicitous nature, “progressives” need to learn that trust must be a two way street.

Why was the “affordable care act” passed without Congress reading it first?

Why weren’t the New Black Panthers prosecuted for voter intimidation that was clearly documented?

Why did the NLRB sue Boeing?

Why has the administration stifled the production of cheap energy through EPA regulations and denial of permits?

Why has the administration abandoned national border security while suing States attempting to enforce federal law and granting blanket protection from prosecution for breaking immigration laws to millions of illegal aliens?

Why is the administration suing States that passed Voter ID laws intended solely to protect the integrity of America’s voting process?

Why has the counting of American votes in the November 2012 election been outsourced to a Spanish company?

Why does the White House continue insisting that average everyday Americans are not being taxed by the “affordable care act” when enforcement of the “penalty” falls to the IRS?

When did the IRS suddenly leave the Department of Treasury and move to the Department of Health and Human Services?

Why did so many millions of taxpayer dollars go to “green energy” companies whose executives “just happened” to have been big time “progressive” bundlers for the 2008 Democratic presidential campaign?

Where is the justification for using Executive Privilege to hide the truth about Operation Fast and Furious which resulted in the murder of American Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry?

The White House calling for transparency from the Mitt Romney campaign would be perfectly fine were they practicing what they preach.  They are not.  “The most transparent administration in history” has practiced anything but transparency.  Until they do, they should be prepared to take their lumps.

To love private equity or not love it? That’s the question

So President Obama hates Bain Capital. Is it because Mitt Romney worked or is it due to the fact that the President’s short-term memory loss has caused him to forget that Bain Capital was one of the largest contributors to his 2008 presidential campaign? A bigger question is: how will Obama feel about his campaign co-chair being a “venture capital ‘vampire'”?

When Dem’s Tell The Truth…

Sunday on Meet the Press popular Newark, NJ mayor Cory Booker shocked many when he expressed his true feelings and frustration with the Obama administration unfounded criticisms of Romney’s former company Bain Capital. Within hours he released a video ‘clarifying’ his comments and returning to the Tow-the-Line Democratic policy.

It would be nice if politicians who clearly speak their mind and express the truth would also have enough inner strength not to be bullied into towing the party rhetoric.
