Morgan Freeman Impersonator Does Voice Over in B.J. Lawson Ad

In a video release on Friday, Morgan Freeman allegedly* narrated a truthful expose on Price’s record.  Price has done little other than run very negative attack ads against B.J. Lawson.  What choice does Rep. Price have?  His record is terrible and there is no way he can run on that.

The ad has since been pulled from Lawson’s website and the candidate apologized to Freeman for the confusion and said that they had been duped by a Los Angeles political consulting firm.

Later, Lawson’s campaign said the political firm M.E.I. Political of Los Angeles was responsible. The company did not return a call seeking comment Monday.

Associated Press is reporting that there is now a statement from Freemen’s publicist that he did not record the ad.  Lawson’s campaign staff has responded.
Lawson and campaign manager Martin Avila initially said Freeman did the ad. Avila later backed off that claim, saying the campaign had a contract signed for a Freeman ad with Los Angeles-based agency M.E.I. Political. The agency did not return a call seeking comment.

David Price Makes Largest TV Ad Buy in a Decade to Attack Challenger B.J. Lawson

Attempts to Paint Lawson as ‘Extreme,’ When Lawson is Echoing the Concerns and Sentiments of Majority of Voters

In a Press Release this afternoon the B.J. Lawson campaign stated  that David Price is making a huge ad buy in order to put attack ads on the air.

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — William (B.J.) Lawson, MD, Republican challenger to Rep. David Price inNorth Carolina’s Fourth District, is the object of new attack ads running on local TV stations. Price has made a significant TV expenditure for this election, something he has not done in over a decade. Price receives more than 50 percent of his contributions from special interests, while Lawson’s campaign has been funded by individual donors.

According to the release, some of the ads will seek to portray Lawson’s supporters and their ideology as extreme, some even focusing on Dr. Lawson’s desire to fundamentally reform the poorly functioning education system in the United States.

“David Price’s rhetoric clearly shows he is uncomfortable with regular people getting involved in politics. The Constitution isn’t a complicated document and it clearly says what the federal government should not be doing, but that would upset his big contributors. All we are doing is asking basic questions about the role of the federal government.

BJ Lawson Receives Endorsements from Leading Conservative Legislators

CARY, N.C., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Today the Lawson for Congress campaign received strong endorsements from the leading doctors in Congress, Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX).  Lawson, a physician challenging Rep. David Price in North Carolina’s 4th district, has made pro-market health care reform a cornerstone of his campaign.  He strongly opposes the mandates, rationing and increased bureaucratic intervention in the health care delivery process.

Dr. Tom Coburn stated, “Our health care system is broken, and has only been made worse by this administration’s actions. Americans face skyrocketing medical costs with declining quality and availability due to oppressive big government policies. Reversing these trends demands leadership that will return health care to patients and physicians, and get government and insurance bureaucracies out of our exam rooms. I’m proud to endorse Dr. William (B.J.) Lawson in his campaign for Congress in North Carolina’s 4th District. As physicians, we have sworn to uphold the Hippocratic Oath — putting patients first, and above all else, doing no harm. As public servants, we swear to uphold the United States Constitution and protect the freedoms of the American people. Dr. Lawson will stand with me in the United States Congress in support of these sacred principles.”

Dr. Ron Paul added, “B.J. will be a stalwart defender of the constitution and individual liberties. In 2008 I supported his campaign because he was talking about the Constitution, limited government and reducing our global police force, I encourage everyone to stand with me in supporting him again in 2010. We need more people of Dr. Lawson’s caliber in Washington D.C. ”

“I am humbled to have the support of such principled statesmen as Drs. Coburn and Paul.  If elected, I will join their fight to return to Constitutional principles, limit the size and scope of government, remove government bureaucrats from the health care delivery system and restore fiscal sanity to Congress,” said Lawson.

B.J. Lawson is a Constitutional conservative, medical doctor and small businessman running against 22-year incumbentDavid Price, who votes with Nancy Pelosi more than any other congressman. B.J. Lawson vs. David Price Poll Results Press Conference

This proves that voters know that Washington insiders aren’t serving their best interests, especially not one who votes with Nancy Pelosi more than any other congressman,” said Dr. Lawson. “Nearly half of these respondents are Democratic voters, so regardless of political affiliation, Americans know you can’t spend yourself out of a recession just like you can’t drink yourself sober. Americans know that you need to cut taxes and wasteful government spending, stop the bailouts, and let North Carolina keep more of our money to allow us to create jobs and prosperity in our own communities. Americans are hurting and responsibly tightening their belts and their spending, so it’s time for the government to have enough respect for us to do the same.

Getting to Know B.J. Lawson

I am going to let the video speak for itself.  Mr. Lawson is a small-government, strong-border, free-market Conservative.  Sure, he’s got the GOP label on him, but that doesn’t define him.  Listen, learn and support if you can.
