Israel bombs weapons targets in Syria

Syria-CIA_WFB_Map

Syria-CIA_WFB_Map
CNN reports that US believes Israel bombed weapons targets in Syria overnight local time. Initial reports indicate that weapons targets have been destroyed on the ground in Syria, and while Israel is not making comments on the specific incident, their security forces have stated that they will take whatever actions they must to prevent weapons from reaching the hands of their enemies.

The Israeli military had no comment. But a source in the Israeli defense establishment told CNN’s Sara Sidner, “We will do whatever is necessary to stop the transfer of weapons from Syria to terrorist organizations. We have done it in the past and we will do it if necessary the future.”

Super Morsi – Video game of future in Egypt

supermorsi

Ok, maybe not. But Morsi’s opposition is having a bit of fun with videos, depicting the Egyptian president as “Mario” from Super Mario Brothers.

As reported in Al Arabiya, the “game” features Morsi defeating his opponents – past and present – beating them down during the game. Of course, the ending is a reference to the opinion that maybe the leader has done more harm than good to Egypt – “Thawra” means revolution in Arabic, and final screen in the video states it is over.

Thousands Protest in Cairo

EGYPT

Moderate Egyptians: Our Brief Window of Hope Closes

Concern about Egyptian President Morsi’s proclamations and the upcoming constitutional referendum continues to grow. Thousands of protesters marched on the presidential palace defying the police and their threats of tear gas. The protesters are a diverse group of Egyptians including Christians and moderates, concerned that the country will lose its secular government and replace it with one sanctioned by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Ahram News: Thousands of protesters had gathered in front of the presidential palace on Tuesday afternoon, chanting against the draft constitution and Constituent Assembly and holding banners saying “We reject splitting the country in two using religion,” and “We reject the constitutional declaration.”

Protesters chanted: “To those who wonder what the solution is, the Brotherhood has to be dissolved,” and “Get out of your houses and come tell Morsi to leave.”

The constitutional assembly is accused of being dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Morsi is a member and has been disrupted by withdrawals from the Coptic Christians, journalists and farmer representatives.

Many are concerned that newly elected President Morsi has already lost his legitimacy and that opponents are hoping to topple his regime.

Obama’s Policy on Egypt – Trade Mubarak for Morsi

Jonathan Rashad (CC)

Before the Arab Spring, Egypt was ruled by a dictator, that happened to be on good terms with the U.S. in spite of anything else. Many moons have passed, and the earth has cooled considerably since then (global warming alarmists notwithstanding.) In spite of any wishes for something remotely resembling democracy in Egypt, President Mohamed Morsi has been engaged in anything but democratic behavior.

Jonathan Rashad (CC)

First, he declared that he is a power unto himself, and that even the judiciary branch could not overturn his proclamations going forward. Of course, he also made a slight about-face, and reached out to the top judges that were the only ones giving him the benefit of the doubt. However, whether it was outbursts of violence, or the Egyptian stock market tumbling that moved Morsi to discuss his decree with the top judges remains to be seen.

Of course that didn’t stop him from ratifying a law that permits the government to appoint its loyalists to the Egyptian Trade Union Federation. While there has always been some level of government involvement in the ETUF, at this point, labor activists in Egypt believe this is paving the way for the Muslim Brotherhood to take over the organization. Government controlled unions had a monopoly since 1957 – independent unions have entered the scene since the 25 January revolution.

Beyond concerns over Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood continuing to grab more power, rumblings over the possibility of political moderates being attacked have started. Nageh Ibrahim, a senior member of Egypt’s former militant Islamist group al-Gamaa al-Islamiya has begun suggesting there could be violent consequences for liberals speaking against Morsi’s current power grabs.

And in the middle of all of this, the U.S. Embassy in Cairo remains as tone deaf as ever. If the apologies to protesters burning the U.S. flag wasn’t ridiculous enough in September, now the twit manning the Embassy Twitter account is silly enough to call the Morsi government a democracy – better than Mubarak’s government. Perhaps someone needs to remind the Embassy folks that this current government didn’t stop protesters from breaching their walls. Ok, maybe not.

Arab Spring … Turns to Winter?

Mohamed_Morsi_cropped

Last week newly elected Egyptian president Mursi proclaimed he had ultimate authority and his decisions would not be eligible for judicial review. Following a surge in protests the president backtracked somewhat, stating that his power would be only of temporary nature.

Al Arabiya: Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi reiterated on Sunday the “temporary nature” of his decrees, saying he wanted dialogue with political forces.
The presidency said Mursi needed to hold to account those responsible for crimes, corruption of “previous regime” and transitional period.
“This declaration is deemed necessary in order to hold accountable those responsible for the corruption as well as other crimes during the previous regime and the transitional period,” the presidency statement said.

But as those hopeful for democratic changes to this country have called for a nationwide strike, the Muslim Brotherhood spoke out encouraging others to stand with President Mursi. Activists once again are gathering in Tahrir Square, concerned that they have replaced one dictator with another. Secular protestors are concerned that the new Mursi administration enforce Sharia Law on Egyptian society.

Times of India: Speculation about the ulterior motives of the Islamists — and debate as to whether the Brotherhood is a truly moderate political force, or a wolf in sheep’s clothing that will reveal its true intolerant colours after monopolising power — are critical to the endless confrontations Egypt is witnessing. This underlying fear of Islamists and questions of whether they are genuinely democratic in a liberal sense pervade the entire Middle East. Egypt is the test case for the thesis that Islamism and democracy can coexist. Every move Morsi makes to override what he derides as a “minority” of obstructionists will be scrutinised warily by citizens and establishments in the region.

Is this decree of power a political road map to a second dictatorship? One has to wonder what the effects of such a personal power grab will be.

Romney Was Rght and Presidential

After our embassies were attacked, Mitt Romney came out with a statement condemning the attacks and the Obama’s administration apology. He didn’t speak as a republican or democrat .He spoke for all of us and the media attacked him for doing what Obama should have done.

So what does Obama do? He waits 9 hours before making a statement, accuses Romney of jumping the gun, doesn’t take questions and continues fundraising and the MSM naturally goes along with him.

During that 9 hours his state department issues an apology to these radical muslim terrorists. Meanwhile Obama has four Americans, one which is his ambassador, and our embassies under fire and he goes on campaigning .They attack our embassies and killed our people. He apologizes to them? What a disgrace!!!!!

Just like when the hurricane Issac hit New Orleans. Romney went out there right away. Obama waited three days because he was too busy going to fundraisers. He only looks out for himself and whatever is politically expedient for him. These attacks occurred on the anniversary of 9/11 and were planned in advance using this anti–muslim film as an excuse. Why weren’t our embassies beefed up a few days before the anniversary? These protestors tore down our flag and put up an Al Queada like flag shouting, “There is no God , but Allah. Mohammed is his messenger .Jihad is the way.” Why did it take Hillary governing from behind to order the embassies to beef up security when Obama should have done that? Oh I forgot. He has to appear on Letterman and fundraisers.

The muslim brotherhood has taken over Egypt and declared Isreal it’s enemy. Obama was an advocate of overthrowing Mubarak paving the way for the take- over by the muslim brotherhood. Talk show host Sean Hannity warned months in advance what would happen and how dangerous they are and the rest of the media attacked him. Now what he predicted has come true. Obama gave Egypt one-and-a-half billion dollars and gave Libya $200 million since 2011.

Mubarek and Qaddafi may have been ruthless dictators but at least they kept the radicals in line and Quaddafi gave us important information about what they were doing. Obama over threw him too If these two were still in power this would not have happened today. The goal of the muslim brotherhood is world domination of Islam and Sharia law .They are in Iran ,control Egypt, North Africa and bonded with Iran who is calling for the wiping of Isreal off the map. Isreal, our main ally is surrounded. Netanyahu asks to meet with Obama to help them and he’s too busy to meet with him, he has to meet on David Letterman’s show and attend fundraisers for Jay–Z and Beyonce out in Calif. What kind of president does that? He should have dropped everything to meet with Netanyahu, but he has never liked Isreal or Netanyahu. Instead he tells Netanyahu to wait. Netanyahu rightly replied, ”Wait for what?? And how long?” He can’t afford to wait any longer. Never forget Obama’s statement that he would side with the muslims. This administration and the media refuse to believe that we are at war with radical Islam. The9/11 commission said “they are at war with us, we are not at war with them.” They hate us plain and simple. They kill our people and want to kill all of us and we have a president who apologizes to them and blames us for the world’s problems. We have a problem there folks.

Mubarek was a dictator and a thug, but at least he honored the peace agreements with American and Isreal. If the muslim brotherhood gets their hands on nuclear weapons they might pass them onto a terrorist group I disagree with Romney on some issues , but I love my country and so does Romney. Obama doesn’t.

Egypt Pres-Elect Morsi’s Cleric: Jerusalem Shall Be Our Capital.

Muslim-Brotherhood.jpg

As Egyptian elections are certified and Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Morsi declared winner one wonders what this means to the region. Last month Muslim Cleric Safwat Higazi spoke to a crowd sharing the dreams and goals of the this group. They will not be satisfied to rule in Egypt, instead they want to take over the entire Arab world and their capital will be Jerusalem.

Is this the Arab Spring that the US government supported? Watch the video (English translation).

America’s Destructive Lack of Realism

Last winter, when I heard John McCain drummed up support to bomb Syria, it makes me wonder if the 535 members in Washington have dementia.  We already had an unnecessary intervention in Libya, we’ve mostly concluded our business with Iraq, and Afghanistan is crumbling.  In a time where Americans are anything BUT enthusiastic or willing to become involved in another nation’s affairs, we must first ask, as George Will has, how many wars do we want to fight.

I was an unabashed neoconservative who supported the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq until I saw, as William F. Buckley aptly pointed out, how this movement grossly underestimates American power.  This was evident in the negligence in the post-war Iraqi reconstruction operations that followed the fall of Saddam Hussein’s government. The planning of the entire reconstruction effort, outlined in National Security Presidential Directive 24 issued in January 2003, gave the Department of Defense complete authority over the post-war operations.  It’s absurd.  Rebuilding Iraq into a modern, free market democracy in three months or less.  No wonder chaos ensued.  This whole notion of liberal democracy proliferating throughout the Middle East, in a region with no historical precedent of such values, is mind numbingly naive.

Even with our involvement winding down in Iraq, it appears the only winner is Iran since we’ve weakened the only nation in the region to curb its growing influence.  The resilience of the new democracy in Iraq and its disposition towards the United States in the future remains to be seen.  However, Syria is still holding out from the so-called “Arab Spring,” Iran still has nuclear ambitions, which would set off a regional arms race, and Egypt has fallen prey to the radical Muslim Brotherhood after we threw our good friend, Hosni Mubarak, under the bus in the hopes that a vibrant democracy will emerge there. Is this our dividend after spending $700 billion in Iraq?  Was this the best use of American political and military resources?

America’s destructive lack a realism is becoming disastrously expensive and straining our military.  Afghanistan and Iraq has cost us a whopping $1.2 trillion dollars in war expenditures.  We could be facing a $4-6 trillion dollar price tag when this whole ordeal is over.  We need to reexamine our financial stability and national interest for future engagements.

Case in point, Libya had nothing to do with American interests.  We do not receive oil from Libya. We don’t have diplomatic relations with Libya.  It was a civil war that was none of our business in a tribal society whose various clans hated Qaddafi more than each, hence the fragile display of national unity.  Like in Iraq, civil institutions were derived from one man and his family creating a power vacuum that will lead to more bloodshed.  The various militias refuse to disarmand the eastern half of the country has declared autonomy.  Did we really stop a slaughter? I feel more bloodshed will ensue because of our reckless engagement in their affairs.

People die in war, especially in the brutal theater of civil war.  Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean it’s our business. Especially when we have become involved in tribal societies before with little success.  We realists do not deny the existence of moral truths and principles, but when applied in the anarchic field of international relations, it is inherently dangerous.  It thrusts a nation, whose only purpose is to survive, into entanglements that are diplomatically obtuse, detrimental to its interests, and leads to prolonging the conflict.

If Qaddafi had squashed the insurrectionists in Benghazi, it would have been over, but we intervened, allied ourselves with rebel elements affiliated with al-Qaeda, and escalated the civil war leading to more deaths. In Somalia, our intervention culminated in the infamous Black Hawk Down incident, despite the fact it was hopeless from the start. There was no government to open up a diplomatic channel, no infrastructure, and clan ties that prevented national unity.  We lost nineteen American soldiers to help feed people in a failed state. A tragic waste of American resources.

The era of nation-building and humanitarian interventions need to end.   If our criteria for involvement is humanitarian based, we will be in a perpetual state of war.  The essence of nation-building, as George Will rightly said on Charlie Rose, is oxymoronic since it’s an organic entity that take generations to perfect.  Just because American marines are on the ground, doesn’t mean the maturation process will be accelerated.  In all, these attempts at social engineering are textbook cases of the irresponsible and arduous tasks that have drained American power over the past decade.  I’m thankful that a growing consensus in this country is starting to view such ventures as nonsensical.  It’s simply not worth the cost.

Did You Know?

You may feel as though you are well aware of the events that seem to shape the world today? Perhaps you feel as though they are beyond your power to change?  And then again, you might be inclined as many American’s are, to state you don’t care about politics.  In either case even the most diligent American would have a hard time keeping up with all the rhetoric on a daily basis that continues to plague the world we live in. It hard to keep up on the facts, and even harder to recognize what is fact and what is fiction on the Hill, when integrity seems to be a thing of the past.  The reality is, despite the attempts to dismiss the threat of radical Islam by the media and government officials, Islam is very much close to home and a real threat to our national security.  The majority of people are under the impression there is no cause for alarm; they fail to recognize the depth of the infiltration of Islam which is deeply rooted in our U.S. culture, society, and government.

Ironically, probably 99 percent of American’s probably don’t know most of what I am about to tell you. If they do know, and discuss it publicly, they are either criticized, dismissed, or marginalized.  To a certain extent we have become complacent and have allowed our government to spiral out of control while those we elect have their own self-serving agendas.  Career Politicians seem to feel as tho they are the voice for us, yet the words they choose behind close doors would probably make most of us cringe.

This year, and election year, you may want to take a closer look at who your voting for because not caring, lack of interest, or the other typical excuse “I’m not interested in politics” are all reasons that could contribute to the downfall of the United States as you believe it to be.   As an American you have a moral, ethical, and civic duty to care about the people you put into office, because they not only effect you, they have a significant impact on generations to come – not caring, lack of interest, or whatever the reason is what got us here in the first place.

SOPA/PIPA: “Fairness Doctrine” Tyranny Coming In The Back Door

SOPA/PIPA is another case of government control over what We the People will be allowed to see or hear on the internet. The “Fairness Doctrine” was thwarted by We the People through the outrage expressed to our elected members of Congress, ironically over the internet for the most part, so they have seemingly decided to come in the back door and “protect” us from unscrupulous vendors. That is great to a point but who is going to protect us from the government? Barack Obama and many members of both political parties consider We the People too stupid to know what is in our best interests.

Instead of going after the ISP’s and search engine companies like Google, why don’t they try a novel approach, something that has never been done in modern history? Why not enforce the laws on the books against fraud? I guess that is much too difficult of a concept for politicians to grasp.

This reminds me of gun violence. How do we solve the problem of violent crimes committed with guns? Someone with my apparent lack of intelligence would suggest we imprison the criminals with very long sentences, or just execute them when the crime calls for such punishment. What is the answer the government comes up with? Well, let’s just take guns away from those not committing crimes so we don’t have to be concerned with them killing the criminals. And when government bureaucrats violate the existing gun laws we can promote them and then use those violations as an excuse to continue on our merry gun ban crusade.

These bills aren’t about protecting We the People or legitimate businesses from criminal activity. That can be done by enforcing existing law. This is about controlling what we see, what we hear, and how citizens communicate with one another. The “Arab Spring” came about as a result of dissidents communicating over the internet through social network sites, instant messaging, and texting. The powers-that-be in our government have seen what can happen when people communicate freely and share information. Open lines of communication are a danger to despots and every dictatorship in the world controls the internet access of their subjects.

I remember Obama giving a speech at a college in which he stated that “information is dangerous”. I have always been taught that information and knowledge are invaluable tools to make our lives better. It seems that Obama and most of the members of Congress weren’t taught the same lessons in their younger years. If they manage to get this legislation through they will be able to control everything that crosses our computers.

As the “Fairness Doctrine” sought to control us and make sure we were exposed to Marxist doctrine, this legislation will be used to prevent We the People from having free access to each other and to the information we need to make decisions beneficial to our lives. We will no longer be able to thwart tyrannical legislation, or regulations dictated by bureaucrats, because we will not know about them unless the government deems them safe for public consumption.

I am not surprised to find out that the biggest proponents of this legislation are the major television networks, and include Rupert Murdoch, owner of FOX News. Why would the owner of a “conservative” news network want to prohibit the free flow of information? Shouldn’t FOX News and its owner be in favor of freedom of the press? I guess the reality that they are losing millions of viewers because they don’t tell the truth, don’t tell the whole story on issues, and ignore any story that doesn’t fit their template has alarmed them to the point that it needs to be acted upon.

Internet news sites such as Conservative Daily News, The Drudge Report, The Post & E-mail, and social network sites pass information much faster, more efficiently, and more completely than any or all of the major media networks. With the advent of internet news the major media companies can no longer slant the news to suit their Marxist ideology, nor can the ignore news that is not to their liking or doesn’t fit their agenda.

The free flow of information is critical to any free society. Once a government controls what information citizens have access to tyranny is right around the corner. Iran, China, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela are all dictatorships that keep their citizens enslaved and in darkness by keeping them from the knowledge of how the rest of the world operates. After the uprisings in 2009 Iran clamped down on social network media to prevent dissidents from organizing more protests and other dictatorships have long been bastions of tyranny by preventing any citizen contact with the outside world, or each other.

Obama and his minions have seen what happens to dictators who allow the free flow of information to their subjects. Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and Muammar Kadafi in Libya are prime examples of what happens when dictators allow their subjects to communicate without restrictions. I am curious to see what the future brings to these countries when the Muslim Brotherhood takes over and installs the tyranny of Sharia law on their people. Those who took to the streets for freedom may find themselves under the thumb of rulers just as brutal as those they overthrew in the “Arab Spring” uprisings.

Iran is a good example of an uprising that came about because of internet access and how the government acted to prevent it from happening again. Outside contact has been as restricted by Mahmoud Ahmadinijad and the mullahs as it can be and severe punishment awaits anyone caught communicating without government sanction. The very rulers who turned their backs on freedom seeking Iranians in 2009 now seek to impose the very same restrictions on their subjects, namely We the American People.

This legislation, as usual, is not a partisan attempt at subjugation. This legislation is supported by many members of Congress in both political parties, and who I suspect have no idea what is in the bills. Since they don’t have time to read anything they vote on it is incumbent on We the People to find out what is in the legislation and spread the word of warning through internet news and social network sites.

We must stand up once again to protect the freedoms bought with the blood of generations of patriots from the Revolutionary War to today. If we do not have the courage to stand for freedom, the blood of hundreds of thousands of patriots since 1776 will have been wasted and future generations will be sentenced to a life tyranny, suffering, and poverty. To this cause I pledge “my life, my fortune, and my sacred honor”; to the cause of freedom for future generations. Every American owes their utmost opposition to this legislation in honor of those who have gone before us and for the freedom of those who will follow us.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Breaking News Flash! Libya's Muammar Qaddafi Reportedly Captured/ Now DEAD

Fox News is reporting that Libya’s ousted leader,  Muammar Qaddafi has been captured. He was reportedly wounded in both legs and found in a hole similar to when Iraq’s oppressive leader, Saddam Hussein was captured. UPDATE: AFP confirms Qaddafi dead. i (Pic: AFP /Philippe Desmazes) It is reported that Qaddafi was shot in both legs and shot in the head. He was reportedly found hiding in a bunker.  The conflict remains about how Qaddafi was originally captured and then whether he was executed by an order to avoid his trial. Information Minister Mahmoud Shammam said he has confirmed that Qaddafi was dead from fighters who said they saw the body. He said he expects the prime minister to confirm the death soon, noting that past reports emerged “before making 100 percent confirmation.” Huge concerns about the huge stockpiles of rocket-fired missiles are being reported, as there are no NATO/US boots on the ground to keep those weapons from being sold on the black market.

In an earlier report from Foxnews.com we had seen it reported that Libyan Rebels had captured Qaddafi’s home town of Sirte, which apparently led to his capture. We will update this story as more information becomes available.

Col Gaddafi

Qaddafi took power in 1969 in a bloodless coup at the young age of 27. A ruthless dictator for 42 years, he ruled Libya with an iron fist which included reinstating the punishment of cutting off the hands of thieves. U.S. President Reagan gave Qaddafi the moniker of “Mad Dog of the Middle East. According to the latest reports. NATO jets attacked a convoy trying to escape the town of Sirte,  in which Qaddafi was riding in. The Libyan Rebels then captured Qaddafi alive when they found him hiding in a drainage ditch, and attempted to transport him to their Headquarters in Misrata. Qaddafi had wounds from gunshots to his legs and eventually was shot in the head, but whether it was the Rebels or the NATO strike that resulted in Qaddafi’s death is still in dispute.

Libya is now free from the notorious Dictator and there is dancing and celebratory gunshots in the streets across Libya today. France and the UK are to be commended for their role in the initial demands to intervene in Libya and to oust Qaddafi. President Obama eventually bent to the demands of French President Sarkozy to intervene in Libya, and the U.S. was very heavily involved in the initial air strikes and supplied the majority of the cruise missiles that started to turn the tide against Qaddafi. Many people have criticized President Obama for not taking action sooner and possibility avoiding some of the atrocious murders of the Libyan citizens in late 2010, and in the beginning of 2011.

The world, and especially the Libyan people are better off today with the death of the ruthless Libyan Dictator who was also responsible for numerous bombings in other countries, including the deaths of 270 people in the Lockerbe bombing over Scotland. Just what the Libyan people do with their new-found freedom remains to be seen. Qaddafi was supposedly the last obstacle preventing them from installing a Democracy and creating a new constitution. Just how they handle their new-found freedom and liberty could set them up for a true Democracy and a bright future for all Libyans if done properly without overt influence from radical fundamentalists in the area.
