Virginia voters decided after much deliberation that they would rather be ruled by a sleazebag than a puritan. And if Ken Cuccinelli needed any more proof that he should have run for re–election as attorney general — something he promised initially — Tuesday’s election results should have provided it.

Cuccinelli had a number of problems that hampered his campaign (outlined here). But the biggest problems he had were caused by Ken Cuccinelli. First he fell into the “new best friend” trap and took gifts from Star Scientific’s Jonnie Williams, a man whose ethical profile is much like that of our new governor, Terry McAuliffe.

Second, Cuccinelli used the “duck and cover” method of responding to McAuliffe’s obsession with abortion and activities involving female private parts.

Marjorie Dannenfelser — President of the Susan B. Anthony Lists — calculates that McAuliffe blasted Cuccinelli with 5,600 negative commercials on abortion and contraception. Talk about a campaign obsessed with social issues!

The attacks ranged from “Cuccinelli will force you to have the baby after a crazed member of the TEA party rapes you” to “Crazy Ken wants to melt all your rubbers.”

Cuccinelli’s response was much like that of the Obama Administration last year on 9/11 in Libya: He pretended nothing was happening while the campaign burned down around him.

I’ve got news for Republicans. This ‘War on Women’ attack is going to be a staple of Democrat campaigns as long as Amnesty; Abortion & Alternate Lifestyles are the three main planks of the party platform. Duck and cover would not have worked during nuclear attack in the 60’s and it won’t work under pubic attack now.

GOP candidates must either meet and defeat this tactic or at the very least blunt its impact.

I’m a media consultant and I hate to write commercials for free — somehow it feels like I’m betraying capitalism — but this is a script Cuccinelli could have used to counter McAuliffe’s negative ads.

The production would be simple and straightforward, as befits a serious topic. Cuccinelli should deliver the message himself looking straight to camera (this time memorizing his lines, which he evidently didn’t do for most of his commercials). The set should not be distracting, but he needs a light package that doesn’t make him look like he needs a transfusion. His tone begins by dismissing one of the McAuliffe attacks and then concludes with a serious defense of life.

TERRY MCAULIFFE AND HIS SUPPORTERS ARE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH WHEN THEY SAY I WANT TO BAN CONTRACEPTION. MY WIFE, TEIRO AND I HAVE SEVEN CHILDREN. I’VE HEARD THERE ARE OTHER FAMILIES IN VIRGINIA WITH FEWER AND EVEN SOME WITH NO CHILDREN. AND THAT’S FINE WITH ME.

WHEN A COUPLE USES CONTRACEPTION IT’S THEIR CHOICE AND NONE OF GOVERNMENT’S BUSINESS.

BUT ABORTING A PREGNANCY IS ANOTHER MATTER. I BELIEVE THAT LIFE IS PRECIOUS AND JUST AS GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT INTERFERE WITH CONTRACEPTION, IT ALSO SHOULD NOT ENCOURAGE ABORTION.

BECAUSE NO MATTER HOW OFTEN MY OPPONENT TALKs ABOUT HEALTH AND DOCTORS AND ‘CHOICE,’ THE FACT IS ABORTION IS NOT ABOUT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH; IT’S ABOUT ENDING A LIFE BEFORE IT HAS A CHANCE TO BEGIN.

I THINK THAT’S A TRAGEDY FOR BOTH THE MOTHER AND THE UNBORN CHILD. YOU MAY NOT AGREE AND YOU ARE CERTAINLY FREE TO VOTE FOR MY OPPONENT. BUT PLEASE, DON’T DO IT BASED ON HIS DISTORTIONS AND EXAGGERATIONS.

 

It may not be the perfect :60 script, but I would nominate it for the perfect free script. After the shooting is done the campaign puts the commercial on cable TV, where the rates are lower and you can afford to run :60s. Then the spot runs until the campaign is over. It answers the McAuliffe mudslinging without being hysterical.

Responding in this manner does bring up a topic that a large portion of the electorate opposes. And some consultants are simply uncomfortable with the subject.

But the abortion–obsessed aren’t going to vote for Cuccinelli anyway, and answering the topic beats hoping it will go away. The commercial is designed to persuade the “moderates” and independents that Ken isn’t Cotton Mather in a poplin suit. Moving the opposition from “OMG he wants to take us back to colonial times!” to simply disagreeing with Cuccinelli is a giant step that was not taken this campaign.

And it certainly beats the Cuccinelli strategy of not answering the attack at all or using women in tangential ads to prove Republicans are as good at showcasing tokens as the Democrats.

If Christian conservatives are interested in winning they are going to have to address these attacks forcefully and change the debate. As Robert Knight wrote this week, “Ever since the GOP-controlled Virginia legislature in 2012 passed a law requiring abortionists to give women ultrasound imaging before an abortion, Democrats have had a field day accusing Republicans of being “extremists” who want to force women to have “transvaginal ultrasounds.” The Democrats are fine, of course, with “transvaginal abortions.”

If we don’t change the context we can’t hope to change the culture.

THE WAR ON WOMEN IS BREWING UP AGAIN!

In a recent column in a non-conservative blog, the columnist suggested that parents warn their daughters about some of the things they can be expected or pressured to at college when they get there. Among them, binge drinking. Sounds ok to me. I would warn my daughter that among the many things they do at college, one of them is to encourage the incoming females to party and fit in which almost always includes binge drinking.

No matter how hard we try to raise our kids right, peer pressure is tough to push back on. Parents who care to be involved in their kids’ lives and want them to be safe in their learning environment will always reach out with encouragement and, yes, sometimes warnings.

Your kids are your responsibility. This may be your daughter’s first time away from home. Maybe she hasn’t been in the big city or doesn’t understand what a real predator is, and not the movie kind.

You would think parents that care like this, that had the guts to have these frank conversations with their kids, would be hailed as heroes. But no, not by one columnist. Emily Yoffe’s Slate article about binge drinking and sexual assault came under attack by the left-wing male hating group at feministing.com.

A writer for the blog states the piece was nothing more than “a rape denialism manifesto” full of “plain old victim-blaming,” Another writer on Jezebel.com, accused Yoffe of “admonishing women for not doing enough to stop their own rapes.”

Isn’t that just like the left to jump all the way to the negative. No one is saying that the way a woman dresses or carries herself or how drunk she gets gives others license to rape or abuse her.

Amanda Hess from feministing.com says “We can prevent the most rapes on campus by putting our efforts toward finding and punishing those perpetrators, not by warning their huge number of potential victims to skip out on parties.”

Is she serious? Hey Amanda, we put away many murderers every year, and yet we continue to have many more murders committed every year. We put away many rapists a year, and yet many rapes are still committed every year. From what LSD-based logical thinking book did you pull your reasoning?

So, what you’re saying is, if we put more rapists away we will have less rapes because new rapists will never come a long? Unfortunately can’t actually accuse and catch a rapist until after a rape occurs.

No one is suggesting that you tell your daughters to stay home with a Kevlar suit and chastity belt on. We are simply suggesting they use a little self-control and discipline.

As one writer put it, if two people walk into the lions’ den and one has a dress on and one has a meat dress on (like Lady GaGa), the one with the meat dress is probably not going to leave alive.

If a really pretty woman, wearing skimpy clothing, goes into a bar full of sailors just in from a 6 month tour and decides to get rip-roaring drunk and play strip poker with them, can she realistically expect that nothing will happen? Can you ever put yourself in a situation that will most likely end badly? Yes, you can!

I know, that example is really far-fetched. But it’s ridiculous for a reason, because I believe Ms. Hess is being ridiculous.

There are lots of sick people around the world, and their on college campuses too. If trying to protect my daughters, your daughters, and others’ daughters by asking them to drink sensibly, don’t go places where they don’t have a safe way out, and to start their college experience off cautiously makes me a parent who is trying to take away my daughters “right of passage” or “right to go out and have fun by having a few too many” then so be it.

I am more than happy to be the wet blanket on my daughter’s fun. I’d rather have her back “un-raped” as a “non-alcoholic” than a mess from her “anything goes” college experience.

Mr. President, Enough With the Lies, the Fear, and the Spin

First, let me start off by saying, this is not a Democrat vs. Republican piece. This is a “administration gone stupid” piece.

These budget games have been played for years. These fights over who knows best have been played for years. But Mafia-style thuggery, like this, should be left in Chicago, New York, Miami, or Boston. I presume they are used to it and know how to deal with it.

The government shutdown caused by the failure of the Senate to pass a budget in the last five years (read my piece from last week if you need details) should have no effect on our war memorials. If we can keep the president’s golf courses open and Mrs. Obama’s 16 assistants funded and, if, we can continue to enter into contracts and pay for guards to protect illegal aliens marching at the National Mall, then we can allow our veterans to visit their war memorial. Yes, we could have cancelled the march on the National Mall, just like we cancelled some air shows across the country. Air shows that demonstrate what American pride and strength look like. Air shows that inspire our kids to want to be soldiers and pilots and heroes!

Now, on October 1st, the White House ordered the National Park Service to put up barricades around the monuments in and around Washington, D.C. That included the World War II Memorial, an open air monument normally open year round, with no chains, no gate, ever… until now. Did anyone in the White House stop to think that the brave men and women who most want to visit these monuments, our veterans, were not thwarted when landing at the beaches of Normandy, were not stopped by ground to air fire, nor stopped by depth charges or torpedoes? Did they really think some little crowd control gates were going to stop them from paying respects to their fallen brothers and sisters? Apparently, no one in the White house has ever been in a combat position to understand the determination of our veterans.

Planeloads of World War II veterans were scheduled to arrive on Honor Flights to visit their war memorial. Instead, this administration spent money and time to block the monument from those it stands to honor. To call this ridiculous would not do it justice.

And let’s not stop at the veterans. The White House is also attempting to cancel the Air Force vs. Navy football game, and the Army’s game against Boston College. It doesn’t seem to matter that service academy athletic programs are self-funded private organizations requiring no government funds. It also doesn’t seem to matter that by cancelling the Air Force-Navy game alone, those programs stand to lose $4 million. According to a story in the Capital Gazette, Naval Academy Athletic Director Chet Gladchuk said…
“We could run our entire athletics program and conduct events as we always do without any government funds… in talking to the Air Force athletic director, their football team could execute the trip without government funding.”

According to the National Review, when the Department of Defense was asked why it was suspending intercollegiate athletic contests if government funds were not required, Gladchuk said he was told it was about ‘optics.’ “It’s a perception thing.”
Think about this. It is self-funded. That means no tax dollars. The programs will lose millions. And all this current White House administration cares about is perception?!

The White House told us health care wouldn’t cost us any extra money and everyone would have healthcare. Yes, they sold you PERCEPTION.

This president said he was going to fundamentally transform this country to be a better country. Yes, he sold you PERCEPTION.

Our nation’s founding fathers feared the majority of a mob as much as they feared the tyranny of a King, and that’s why they gave us a Constitutional system of checks and balances that the Republican majority in the House of Representatives is using today. Minority rights are protected in that document, which makes the position of a president demanding 100 percent compliance proof positive that he doesn’t understand the document he swore to uphold.

Mr. President, tear down these unnecessary barricades, gates, and roadblocks. Quit shutting down programs that have no reliance on government funding. And stop with the lies, the fear, and the spin. Our founding fathers were fearful of under-informed voters because they knew it could mean disaster. You seem to feed on misinforming and sometimes even downright lying to public simply to justify your position. You seem to embrace disaster and thrive on confusion.

Tear down the walls you have erected, stop exaggerating the divisions, and work to unite all of us. Maybe then, you’d allow us to be that great country we can be, and once were, again.

A Disgrace Worthy of a Resignation

It is unconscionable. It is rude, insensitivity, callus and unacceptable. With the news that family members of fallen soldiers killed in Afghanistan are not only being denied death benefits, but are being denied transportation to Dover AFB for the arrival of the caskets containing the remains of their loved ones, the Obama Administration has crossed a “red line” with the American people. Progressives in Washington and across the nation, you are now on notice: We – regular, rank-and-file, hard-working American every-men and -women – are not going to take the “pain” of your ideological agenda anymore.

Few things are sacrosanct among all Americans, the proper treatment and respect of the men and women of the Armed Forces – and their families – one such thing. But Mr. Obama, his administration, and the sycophants who voted for and support them have disrespected and caused unnecessary pain for these patriots, both fallen and family. Just as in the 1960s, these very same people and people of the same mindset, are once again spitting in the faces of the American soldier, this time extending that vile discontent to the survivors and their children.

It’s another ugly symptom of Mr. Obama’s partial government shutdown — and this time it impacts the families of soldiers who are dying for their country.

The Pentagon confirmed Tuesday that, as long as the budget impasse lasts, it will not be able to pay death benefits to the families of troops who’ve been killed in combat.

“Unfortunately, as a result of the shutdown, we do not have the legal authority to make death gratuity payments at this time,” said Lt. Cmdr. Nate Christensen, a Defense Department spokesman.

House lawmakers, though, are planning to vote Wednesday on a bill to restore funding for the payments. And Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), on Tuesday accused the Obama administration of needlessly withholding the money…

The Pentagon says it has specific instructions from its budget office not to make payments for deaths that occurred after 11:59pm on Sept. 30, 2013.

And that’s about enough…We should all demand – demand – the name of the imbecile who made this decision (I am certain that it came from Mr. Obama’s inner-circle) and demand – demand – that person’s resignation, terminating that person’s governmental career complete with withheld benefits.

President Obama is the Commander in Chief and that position mandates a responsibility to care for the whole of the military family. This responsibility is absolute and non-discretionary. That this situation even exists must – must and without question – rest on Mr. Obama’s shoulders personally.

In fact, if one of the duties of the Presidency is being Commander in Chief, this abdication of responsibility to our soldiers and their families (they are considered military families and many live on military bases, shop at military base PXs, etc.) for political purposes should be deemed an impeachable offense; disavowing any aspect of the position of Commander in Chief must be considered a “high crime and misdemeanor.”

We, as a nation, have been subjected to the arrogance and bully-tactics of Mr. Obama’s Chicago Progressive political mindset long enough. We have been subjected to the sycophancy of a Progressive mainstream media continuously lobbing softball questions to this president; ignoring not only the execution of poor government, but scandals that – in more than one case – have cost Americans their lives. I contend that this is too high a price for a country to pay just because Progressive ideologues insists on executing the politically correct, “social justice,” Marxist transformation of our nation, purely for power, fame and fortune.

It is time to define Progressivism for what it is: a destructive force that is antithetical to our Founders’ vision of a limited government and a free people. It is also time to confront Progressivism at every level, in every governmental chamber, on every street corner and in every individual.

Progressivism is not unlike Islamofascism in that the ideology is not – not –compatible with the Natural Law right to individual liberty and the overall concepts of self-reliance and freedom. It also stands as just as lethal a threat to our nation.

That Mr. Obama has not already addressed the subject of getting the fallen soldiers’ families their promised death benefits and respectful transportation to Dover AFB for the arrival of the caskets is beyond disgraceful. If Mr. Obama had a shred of decency; an once of honor, he would have already ordered a solution to this problem from the available Pentagon funding (and yes, there is money there to satisfy this situation). That he hasn’t should result in his resignation from office…immediately.

Yes, it is that much of an issue.

Tattoo Wars: Can a Waiting Period Prevent Stupidity?

District of Columbia leftists have been so generous in providing ideas for negative columns; it’s only fair to compliment them when they do something positive. Currently the District of Columbia Health Department is proposing a mandatory 24–hour waiting period before getting a tattoo. I think making prospective tattoo customers pass a Breathalyzer and recite the alphabet backward would be a good idea, too, since it combines a sobriety and I.Q. test.

As gratifying as this waiting period is, it’s still mystifying. Why draw the line here? The extent of cultural decay that gets a pass in the District is breathtaking, so what makes getting a tattoo worthy of regulation?

It’s true that throughout history tattoos have been associated with less desirable elements including pirates, cannibals, the SS and neo–Nazis, but guilt by association is never an issue in DC. You have only to count the number of politicians at the various alternative lifestyle ‘pride’ parades to know that.

Trendies use a tattoo to declare themselves ‘edgy’ without the accompanying inconvenience of joining a para–military organization or abandoning their vegan diet.

Still, just the mention of a waiting period was enough to motivate the Washington Post to interview those opposed.

Paul Roe, who owns a tattoo parlor, is quoted as saying, “It’s honestly ridiculous. Why not 24 hours’ waiting time before shaving your head?” (This points out the danger of the uncreative mind attempting to construct a metaphor on the fly. Unless Roe is using henna tattoos his marks are permanent, whereas even the worst haircut eventually grows out.)

Roe’s trump card against any new rules is two words: Breaking bad. “Simple regulation is effective regulation,” he said. “Overregulation will kill the profession and drive it underground and make it less safe for everybody.” Evidently the tattoo industry is as fundamentally lawless as meth dealers and abortionists. At the first hint of government oversight everyone threatens to head for the nearest alley and bring out the coat hangers.

Actually I’m not a total anti–tattoo fanatic. I can see the need for a medicinal tattoo on Alzheimer’s patients (name, address, phone number, next of kin and the GPS coordinates of the assisted–living home) for those awkward times when grandpa is found wandering in the median wearing grandma’s pajamas.

My view of ‘decorative’ tattoos is the same as my wife’s. She believes getting a tattoo is like wearing the same tee–shirt every day for the rest of your life.

Marcela Onyango told the WaPost that she had been pondering getting her late mother’s birth year — 1961 — etched on her rib cage for the last three years. Naturally, she thinks waiting an additional 24 hours constitutes an outrage. Although she might wish she’d delayed even longer if a future armed robber mistakes those four digits for her PIN number.

William O’Sullivan contributed an opinion piece where we learn that in the tattoo subculture “there seems to be an unspoken code not to talk about them [tattoos].” Another bizarre case of flaunting something in public you don’t want people to notice.

It’s like the time I was walking through a casino and a woman passed by who was featuring her pulchritude in an outfit with a plunging neckline.

Since I’m weak and a sinner, my attention was irresistibly drawn to that canyon. Simultaneously, my wife poked me in the ribs and the woman’s companion gave me a hostile look. “Hey,” I protested in defense, “if you don’t want people to look at the merchandise, keep it out of the display case!”

While Virginia only regulates tattoos for those under 18, the DC waiting period will apply to everyone regardless of age. And about time, too, since it looks like AARP may soon be offering a tattoo discount.

Darlene Nash, a 57–year–old grandmother, told the WaPost her tattoos are for a dead sister, two granddaughters, her mother and friends who died of cancer. This epidermal notice board is located on her shoulder blades so everyone behind her on the ladder to the water slide can pause and consider mortality.

Evidently there is a lot of commemoration going on. In the same article the owner of Maryland tattoo parlor says older customers “often want to commemorate a milestone, such as the death of a spouse, the birth of a grandchild, a marriage or a divorce.” Looking at it that way, the ink saves time and gas in the long run, because you won’t feel guilty for not visiting mom at the cemetery; and it lasts a lot longer than a mylar birthday balloon.

The Posties also discovered Myrna Armstrong, a tattoo culture professor who has comforting news for older hipsters. She says since the over–55 set already has saggy skin there’s no need to worry about the tattoo wilting. It’s like buying a pre–shrunk shirt. The tattoo–wanting senior just has to find an ‘artist’ skilled enough to ink on the fleshy equivalent of a grocery bag.

It could be the DC Dept. of Health is on the leading edge of a body ink backlash. The Army is considering a ban on any tattoo on the forearm, below the knee or above the neckline and it will require the removal of “offensive” tattoos.

I only wish the District would expand activities covered by a waiting period. Right now the authorities require a waiting before you can buy a gun, but it’s step–right–this–way if you want an abortion. It seems only consistent to expand the wait period to abortion, too. Because although a gun purchase may sometime result in an innocent death, an abortion purchase is designed to result in an innocent death.

Jaden Smith Has His Finger on the Pulse of Modern Education

Perhaps you heard the other day that Jaden Smith, son of actor Will Smith, sent out a tweet that stirred up a hornets nest of criticism. Take a peek:

“School Is The Tool To Brainwash The Youth.”

He continued:

“If Everybody In The World Dropped Out Of School We Would Have A Much More Intelligent Society.”

Jaden Smith is 15 years old, and if we take the comments at face-value (who didn’t hate school at that age?), they are easy to dismiss. But let’s ignore face-value for a moment and assume he knows exactly what he’s talking about. He has, apparently, reached the same conclusion many of us have who suffered through public school, who found that when we questioned authority, were told we were behaving inappropriately. When I say “question authority” I don’t mean we were doing anything particularly “wrong” in the usual sense. Maybe we were writing conservative editorials in the school paper, or writing essays in English class that went against the established narrative. Maybe we wrote that popular culture and the growing trend of “if it’s true for you, you shouldn’t be judged” was corroding our nation. Maybe we refused to write about something else, even when enough teachers complained to the point the principle invited you into her office for a chat.

Of course, you can’t be given detention or expelled because you wrote something teachers disagree with, especially since they had no cause for doing so (you didn’t use profanity, didn’t attack a religious or ethnic group, etc.). The only thing you did wrong was not write what they were telling you to write. Why the fuss? Because other students were reading what you wrote, especially the school paper editorials, and maybe there was a danger that others would convert to your way of thinking.

One reaction to Jaden Smith’s tweet pretty much sums up all of the responses I looked up: “He has such a huge group of fans that really look up to him,” Us Weekly reporter Jennifer Peros told ABC News. “So this isn’t really the example you should really be setting.”

Exactly. Heaven forbid that young people actually question what so-called authorities tell them.

Now, we do need basic education. No question about that. But after so many “they never taught me that in school” moments as an adult, I have come to realize that school really wasn’t there to teach me anything except conformity. And when I didn’t conform, I wound up having to explain myself to an authority figure who thought she knew better, yet was in the untenable position of being an educator telling me not to think and explore other ideas.

If you can break away from the collective group-think of modern education, as Jaden Smith suggests, you might actually stand a chance of truly learning something.

And what drives Jaden Smith’s point home is a new text book that, basically, rewrites the entire Constitution, and is aimed at “advance history” students. Brainwashing 101.

We used to say, “Don’t trust anybody over 30,” which was fine until one turned 30. And then it became, “Don’t trust anybody.” Especially teachers.

Teachers are the new sacred cows. They are not to be criticized in any way and if you do, you are tarred and feathered. I have little respect for a collective industry that follows progressive policies and passes those policies onto kids in the name of “education.” I know many teachers, and they are good people. I like dating teachers because when you do something wrong, they make you do it over again. But the good ones are a drop in the bucket compared to the juggernaut of the educational industry that has a death-grip on your kids’ necks.

You know what I’ve also learned after 38 years on God’s green earth?

Sacred cows make the best burgers.

My new motto is one we conservatives need to live by:  “Drown The GOP In Conservative Tea!”

Conservatism was kicked out of the GOP by a progressive inside machine and Republicans are now joined at the hip with the Democrat Party and it’s progressive policies. So why should we conservatives continue supporting RINOs who sold us out?

There is no difference between the two parties, it’s no longer Democrat versus Republican, its one big party of incestuous bureaucrats whose sole interest is power with life terms.

I’ve said it before: John Boehner and Harry Reid are politically incestuous and together they bred Nancy Pelosi’s Flying Monkeys. Unfortunately such ill-breeding gave us RINOs.

Conservatives, let’s be honest with ourselves: The Republican Party is no longer the party of Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Calvin Coolidge William  F. Buckley, Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan.  

Is Marco Rubio really conservative? Rubio sides with the King of Amnesty John McCain, because Rubio only cares about becoming the first Hispanic president. He didn’t even support Rep. Allen West of Florida during the 2012 race. Rubio stood by and let West lose his district.

What about Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy? They want you to believe a government program handing out universal healthcare will simply crumble and go away, so why bother defunding ObamaCare. Europe has proven government programs never crumble but expand out of control and drown economies. 

The only way to destroy government programs controlling people’s lives is to destroy government programs.

Paul Ryan proved he’s a snake oil salesman when he campaigned against Obamacare. It would hurt his mother Betty’s Medicare. After the election Ryan stopped fighting to defund ObamaCare. He decided to delay it.

In other words: Ignore ObamaCare in favor of a Congressional job that gets to opt out of ObamaCare with fabulous healthcare opportunities.

Joe Manchin shows up for votes, but refuses to take sides in the vote except on voting procedure. Perhaps Manchin should quit his job since he is incapable of doing his job.

Mitch McConnell raised taxes that enable Obamcare expansion. How conservative!

Don’t even get me started on New Jersey’s loud-mouthed beached whale in a suit Chris Christie!

Cry-baby John Boehner wants to wait for another debt ceiling before he considers fighting ObamaCare.

Boehner and GOP leaders, with the exception of Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, are siding with Democrats not to shut down the government and defund ObamaCare, as well as holding off employer mandates until the 2014 election is over, because they don’t want the truth–Obamacare will destroy the economy– coming out and destroying vote-grabbing reelections for Republicans and Democrats.

Heaven forbid Tea Party candidates win RINO seats. The country might have leaders willing to serve limited terms doing what is constitutionally right to restore America.

Remember Boehner said he wouldn’t risk anything by pushing to defund ObamaCare:

You’ve got a Democrat president, you’ve got a Democrat Senate. It’s very difficult for us to impose our will on them. There will be opportunities ahead, but do you want to risk the full faith and credit of the United States government over ObamaCare? That’s a very tough argument to make.

The GOP imposing conservatism on progressives? Why that would force the government to acknowledge the Constitution as the law of the land!

And let’s not forget all of these men vilified Michele Bachmann for questioning why Muslim Brotherhood-connected Huma Abedin had top security clearance inside the State Department. These RINOs deemed Bachmann intolerant.

We conservatives better impose our conservative constitutional will on those imposing their progressive, anti-American, anti-Constitution will against America or we will lose this country to tyranny!

Let’s admit the truth conservatives: Republicans are no longer Republicans, they are Democrats disguised as Republicans (in the case of John McCain I would say he’s Hillary Clinton in better man’s drag). The GOP now cares more about reelections so the people serve the leaders for life through tax dollars, stolen from earned paychecks by the Federal Government, then serving the people and states they are supposed to represent, as well as this country.

It’s obvious that was the Democrat goal all along: Destroy the Republican Party’s conservative values and traditions by infiltrating the party with Democrats pretending to be Republicans.

It’s now one big party of progressive bureaucrats against conservatives.

Republicans voters keep wallowing in chaos while repeating mistakes that put America on the road to progressivism: Compromise to the Left for fear of alienating the Left.

Conservatives keep voting for candidates the GOP insists will beat Democrat candidates, and the GOP continues losing to the Democrats!

That makes us conservatives just as guilty as the GOP Machine we’ve allowed to dupe us twice, into voting for two men conservatives did not want: John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012.

Basically, the GOP Machine is telling conservatives that paying a Democrat hooker for sex is no different than taking your conservative Tea Party girlfriend out to dinner: “Hey, you paid for the tab!” Yes, but the piece of meat in Blue spandex is not Red Prime Rib! And you don’t pay your girlfriend for sex unless she’s a money-grubbing mistress your wife has a right to stick a fork in!

Good grief! Have we conservatives learned nothing? Maybe, because the GOP keeps pimping out votes and we conservatives keep “hooking” ourselves to the political prostitution.

Our founders must be looking down on America and thinking: “Why did we sign the Constitution if these idiots are so desperate to return their rights to kings?”

I know one thing: If Andrew Jackson were alive today, he would shoot the Democrat Party, run the Republicans through, and join the Tea Party!

The Founders, like today’s leaders, fought endlessly and nonsensically over bills on the House floor (to the point that Andrew Jackson demanded if leaders could not give an up or down vote they should duel each other), but one thing they never compromised on was framing the United States Constitution.

Many readers will insist the founders indeed compromised before signing the document. Yes, they debated how to frame a document providing The Rights of Man. They revised constantly so as not to leave out any God-given liberties, but they never compromised those liberties. That’s what modern-day Washington leaders and kings do.

The Constitution is not a compromise, it is in fact a provision of evidence upholding the laws of liberties that exist from mankind’s creation.

The Framers did not formulate what we see inside the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, God created those liberties—Natures Laws.

Federalist and Anti-Federalist were in one accordance: The Laws of Nature are laws no man or government has rights to trample, that these God-given liberties, given unto us at creation, must be upheld, promoted and provided for, sustained and protected by a limited government reined in by the people.

That’s not compromising, negotiating, or meeting halfway, as leaders of the modern-day GOP do when coping with Democrats for settlements designed only to gain votes for life-termed power versus promoting the American Experiment and individualism that made this country great. The framing and signing the Constitution was a coming together as one people to buttress the foundations of liberty on paper so all would see their rights are God-given, not government provided.

Why is that difficult for conservatives to hold onto and believe in? Are we afraid of taking care of ourselves, of making our own money we spend and save as we individually choose? Are we afraid to control of an out of control monster called government?

Furthermore, when it came to separate parties, the Founders did not believe both parties should work together. Today’s dysfunctional leadership has become one incestuous family party.

Unfortunately John Beohner and Harry Reid came together to breed Nancy Pelosi’s Flying Monkeys.  

The Founders fought each other rabidly. They did not get along or live peacefully together. They bickered, debated policies and philosophies, and tried to undermine one another, with Andrew Jackson going so far as to challenge fellow leaders to duels.

The fighting by anti-Federalists was the refusal to break the Constitution’s laws.

Here is an example of refusal to trample the Constitution: The anti-Federalists considered the President’s annual address to Congress a parliamentary act of the King of England and wanted the address abolished abolished.

Next: Congress decided to fashion and hold annual addresses! Andrew Jackson, in righteous indignation, stood up in the House of Congress, demanding both actions cease. Jackson told President Washington and Congress they were not communicating the British wrongs perpetrated against America—hijacking American ships. Washington had disregarded addressing Britain’s actions toward America trading on the high seas. Jackson insisted President Washington was acting like the British king. Thomas Jefferson and Congress sided with Jackson’s demands to abolish the annual address. Republicans agreed with the Democrat Jackson: America must never revert backward! Congress took a vote and ended the Presidential Annual Address to Congress. It would not be heard again until the Progressive Woodrow Wilson enacted it back into law.[1]

If only Modern-day GOP leaders would make uncompromising demands and stop acting like the House of Lords!

More often than not Republicans surrender and agree to whatever terms Democrats demand so the GOP won’t look bad in the eyes of the people they desperately want voting Republican. That compromise has destroyed the Republican Party and given Democrats the upper hand in pushing the country into socialism.

Compromise has made America lose her way on a progressive path leading to destruction.

Parties’ working together as one disbands competition and disallows each party to branch out individual ideas.

Compromise creates one big government party that overreaches its power into the states and thrusts tyranny upon the people.

It is one thing to work together to create a free country based on liberty for all and another to sell out the people’s independence for political power and control over individuals.

It is one thing for leaders to work together to trade America’s manufactured goods for prosperity and quite another to sell out American manufacturing to enemies profiting off America’s economic decline.

It is one thing for the GOP to work together with the Tea Party to tear down the progressive ideologies of the Democrat Party (as they should be doing versus trashing conservatives) and entirely another to sell out traditional conservative values for Democrat votes.

Compromise is what people are forced to do under monarchy. Is that any different than two parties working together as one? No, that simply creates a large aristocracy of government elites controlling the amount of liberty the people are allowed.

If we conservatives continue compromising to whatever the GOP tells us and we vote for whomever the GOP tells us to vote for in the 2014 and 2016 elections, its our fault if America goes down.

Sometimes I wonder why we outlawed dueling!

Being an authentic conservative often means standing outside the inner-circle where conservatives should stand together fighting the progressives destroying America and the Constitution.

Dr. Michael Savage understands the alienation and fight better than anyone in radio and print news. He’s banned from entering Great Britain and placed on a terror-watch list for excising non-violent free speech.  Savage has never called for the killing of Muslims and gays.

I’m not sure if being banned from a country where people boil everything they eat and everyone marries their cousin is punishment.

The lack of camaraderie has been wielded against Dr. Michael Savage often. I still wonder where conservatives were when Savage was banned from entering the UK? Why weren’t fellow radio hosts screaming “this is a violation of free speech” and “If this can happen to Savage, it can happen to all of us!”

The fact is, authentic conservatives like Savage, working to restore our Constitutional Republic from socialism overrunning this nation into a soft-communist malaise, are trashed by the Left and Republican elites (who became Democrats for minority vote-grabbing) saving the can and kicking the Tea Party down the road.

I believe moderate Republicans (Democrats in cheap GOP suits) are fearful of Savage’s voice: Heavens! He might offend the people conservatives must stand up against and expose—Islam and illegal aliens—rather than trying to appease America’s greatest threats so the party can say “see, we’re really not racists.”

If you’re conservative, you will be deemed racist no matter what, so why waste time appeasing voters who disdain traditional values and the Constitution, and why pander to the Left that invents non-existent hate for profit?

Savage does not, that’s why he’s popular with millions of Americans:

People listen to me to get a different point of view.

 

Savage doesn’t douse his words in political PCP and wrap his views in Reince Priebus’s pink panties in order to pander to leftists who deserve a good kick in the political ass for destroying this nation from within.

Sugar-coating turns Americans off. People want reason with blunt honesty. For heaven’s sake, we are not Europe, despite what Democrats would have you think! This is America, the land of cowboys!

Did that mental image scare any of you out of this Euro-Statist coma we are in?

In his best-seller Trickle Down Tyranny, Savage demonstrates how Lenin’s Statism is Obama’s vision for America:

[Lenin] thought that a nation could only grow more prosperous when it was controlled by a vanguard, an elite…No more haves and have-nots. No more private property. Only boundless prosperity. All Russia had to do was transfer its entire wealth to Lenin’s elite. The Leninist vision  had terrible consequences. If you didn’t want to relinquish your property, Leninists would take it.

Expansive government says “get sick and you are on your own without government, you’ll have to depend on yourself if you don’t have government to feed and cloth you!” But isn’t that what Americans know to be the best success–self-reliance without government dependence?

Savage points out:

Like the Leninists elite, they’ve [Soros, Obama, progressives, the EU] conned the world into believing that they’re looking after the interests of ‘the people’ when in fact they’re in the process of seizing control of the world’s financial assets at the people’s expense.

We’ve allowed everything we disdain to seize control. We put America’s interests last and our enemies first. Conservatives stopped fighting GOP interests while our economy crumbles and money is lost to our enemies.

Going along for the cause is Progressive. Even when it sticks like hard, raw peanut butter on their tonsils, leftists would rather die than admit Islam is evil and breeds terrorists and illegals are “turning the melting pot into a chamber pot.”

Note to Leftists and moderate Republicans: The chamber pot is not something California Food Stamp surfers smoke in the judge’s office. But you would have to read one of Dr. Savage’s many medical books to understand that.

Savage is unafraid to address the trampling of God and Biblical core values our founders upheld and practiced–absolute laws. Savage calls out the activist Supreme Court judges and those communist inbreed “Dogs of Hate” are abolishing our Judeo-Christian heritage with authorized Statist “Religion-Free Zones” in our schools.

 Dr. Savage believes in national sovereignty and is not afraid to admit it: Sovereignty is national pride, something American’s have been taught to hate, because Hitler, a leftist, misused nationalism for destructive means as all progressives do.

Our nation is threatened from within by leftists and moderate Republicans forging socialist deals with Democrats recreating a newly ordered American society like the European Union:

[O]ur federal officials seem to be allies of those international forces who would override our democracy…The emergence of an international social liberalism, which is at its core soft-communism, is a very real threat to the sovereignty of our nation. Forces from within and without our country continue to try and tell us that we are out of step with the rest of the world. The “sophisticated” Europeans laugh at us for our naiveté and our clinging to religion and family values. These Euro-socialists and their American counterparts see a terrible beauty struggling to be born, a beauty that would like to sweep away our dying civilization and bring us into an unbrave new world.

 

Let those vaporized “Aunt Pitty Pats” laugh at us! Who cares if we conservatives stand on the outside because we believe Americans should speak Standard English, illegal aliens should be deported, and Mitt Romney lost the election because 1. He’s a Democrat, and 2. If Democrats wanted a woman on their ballot, they would have put Hillary on the ticket!  

This is why people listen to the Savage Nation: Honesty. If Republicans spoke like Michael Savage, Democrats would put a fork in themselves.

In Liberalism is a Mental Disorder, Dr. Savage spoke directly to liberals of something that now screams loudly of modern-day Republicans:

In the end, your tolerance of the intolerable is actually reflection of your loss of clarity; your tolerance of virtually everything and your “anything goes” attitude is not a mark of liberalism, it’s a mark of the degeneration of your ability to judge anything.

 

Furthermore:

While the left is marshalling their battalions to assault the pillars of America, the right is disorganized and provides little national leadership.

 

Conservatives, don’t let the GOP Machine and its supporters silence, gag, and shut out those defending our nationalism and liberty. As Joseph Farah says: “If we don’t all hang together, as they say, we’ll all hang separately.”

Stand up like Michael Savage and let progressives know what we patriots will do to them and their polices: Disorganize them with our battalions of liberty.

 

Democrats Will Give Black Americans Forty Acres of Public Housing For the Honor of Voting For Democrat Mules

There seems to be an unwritten set of Democrat rules for black Americans that include 40 underprivileged acres if they vote for the mule.

It’s obvious the Emancipation Proclamation holds a bad aftertaste for Democrats or they never would have 40 acre-and-muled black Americans right back into slavery where blacks have been instructed to live in the crappiest section of town on welfare, attending schools Democrats would never send their children to, insisting blacks fight for the racistpoverty-creating minimum wage versus competing with skills that allow for people to leave poverty.

But hey, poor blacks can hold their heads up high and say: “Those rich Democrats have made Black Americans what we are—poor!”

Of course black Americans are forbidden their fabulous forty acres of under privilege unless they comply with voting for race-baiting jackasses called Democrats.

To hell with the Constitution and the Rights of Man! Democrat political discrimination knows how to make blacks comfortable in their poverty: Never attempt to work and live beyond racially motivatedminimum wage. It’s not good for your Democrat politician’s life-style!

It’s better for black self-esteem when black Americans are reduced to pitiable destitution. Superior criminals are developed in broken homes where “70% of black children are raised by single mothers”, black unemployment in America is 40-50%, the illiteracy rate is also 70% and, as Economist Walter Williams points out, “Politicians exploit economic illiteracy.”

  Walter E. Williams says:

Black people could benefit from an honest examination of the bill of goods they’ve been sold. Such an examination would not come from black politicians, civil rights leaders or the black and white liberal elite. Those people have benefited politically and financially from keeping black Americans in a constant state of grievance based on alleged racial discrimination.

 

When black Americans make it out of Democrat-created black poverty, they are only commended if they are card-carrying Democrats. For black Americans to be anything but Democrat goes against the esteemed heritage of Democrat bondage.

And don’t forget laws stipulating black Americans join the Democrat Party, vote Democrat, and think and act solely as progressive leftists versus living as free Americans.  That clause is hidden in the Emancipation Proclamation: It states black Americans would never be granted freedom unless black Americans swore an oath pledging never to vote Republican or join the GOP.  

Unwritten Democrat laws really do forbid black Americans from living as individuals.

Are black Americans allowed to vote Republican? No. Black Americans who vote Republican are condemned as a sell-out to their race.

Never mind Democrats socially lynched black Americans into poverty to achieve Democrat power; Democrats politically lynch black Republicans as traitors worse than Atomic Bomb-selling communists for leaving the party plantation. 

Republican Crystal Wright says:

The left relentlessly calls black conservatives crude names to belittle us into silence, tame us into submission, and intimidate those of us in the closet from coming out. Message: know thy black place.

 

Economist Thomas Sowell says of black Republican candidates:

Obviously, any black conservative who shows signs of getting political traction, such as Herman Cain, has to be destroyed… One of the sad things is that a number of black conservatives who have gone out on a limb and have then had the rug pulled out from under them…

 

 

After decades of plantation politics wielded against blacks by Democrats, Congressman Elbert Guillory of Louisiana left the Democrat Party because:

[Democrats] have moved away from the traditional values of most Americans. Their  policies have encouraged high teen birth rates, high high-school dropout rates, high incarceration rates and very high unemployment rates… We can’t continue doing the things we are doing and survive.

Author and speaker Star Parkerpoints out that:

It is so clear that blacks are damaged by the left-wing political agenda—black voters so uniformly and consistently support Democratic candidates who advance this agenda…Black Americans, like every other American, need fewer taxes taken out of their paycheck, need to be able to choose where to send their child to school, need to be able to freely pick a health care plan that suits their needs, and need to save for retirement instead of paying payroll taxes.

 

 

Despite tangled-webbed emancipation tales woven by elected mules, Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was not a Democrat; Dr. King was, as Francis Rice points out, a Republican:

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. Why? It was the Democrats who Dr. King was fighting, and he would not have joined the  Democratic Party, the party of segregation and the Ku Klux Klan…Democrats started the    Ku Klux Klan in 1866 to lynch and terrorize Republicans – black and white and drive Republicans out of the South. 

A bunch of mules convinced a portion of America that the party of slavery and segregation—the Democrat Party—is the party of Civil Rights. The fact is the Republican Party is the Emancipation Proclamation party, the GOP ended slavery and it is the GOP that demanded the anti-Civil Rights Democrat President Lyndon Johnson to sign the Civil Rights Act into law in 1965, ending segregation, not the Democrats, who fought desegregating the South.

Fear not. Democrats always take credit for the Civil Rights Act despite the fact it is Republicans who demanded blacks have the same constitutional rights as white Americans.

National Black Republican Association  Chairwoman Francis Rice points out:

After the Civil War, Republicans amended the US Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed the civil rights laws of the 1860’s, including the Civil    Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks, [but] … Democrats enacted the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim  Crow laws Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every piece of civil rights    legislation from the 1860’s to the 1960’s.  Democrats wanted to keep blacks in virtual slavery and deny blacks the promised ‘40 acres and a mule’

According to Thomas Sowell, the Democrat’s forty acres and mule re-enslaved blacks on a modern-day plantation of poverty where rising illiteracy and crime are ignored by Civil rights leaders who happen to be Democrats:       

Liberals try to show their concern for the poor by raising the level of minimum wage laws.Yet  they show no interest in hard evidence that minimum wage laws create disastrous levels of unemployment among young blacks in this country, as such laws created high unemployment rates among young people in general in European countries. The black family survived centuries of slavery and generations of Jim Crow, but it has disintegrated in the wake of the liberals’ expansion of the welfare state. Most black children grew up in homes with two parents during all that time but most grow up with only one parent today.

Francis Rice says:

If the Democrats had left blacks alone at this moment in history, our nation would not be faced with racial divisiveness today. Instead, Democrats set for themselves the horrendous task of keeping blacks in virtual slavery.

It is quite clear that one’s skin color and race continue to be more important to the segregation/slavery party than individuality and human liberty.

 

Maybe we need to amend the Constitution again: Abolish Democrat jackasses!

Misrepresenting The “Fetal Heartbeat” Texas Bill

 Certain parts of the Internet went started frothing at the mouth on Thursday and Friday over another Texas abortion bill. Think Progress wrote, Republicans were looking “criminalize abortion services after a fetal heartbeat can be detected.” Huffington Post wrote the glaring headline, “Six-Week Abortion Ban Introduced In Texas.” Salon said the bill would “face harsh criticism and fierce opposition from the thousands of Texans rallying against the Republican-controlled Legislature’s efforts to eliminate access to safe abortion care in the state.” Raw Story had a similar post.

 There are two problems with how House Bill 59 is being characterized:

  1. The bill won’t be debated this year: Republican State Representative Phil King released a statement saying there aren’t any hearings planned on the measure, and the bill won’t be considered until January 2015.

  2. The bill will probably never be law: The key text of the bill can be found in Section Two, where it says the subchapter can’t be enforced until the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade; a federal or state court restores, expands or clarifies the authority the states have on abortion; or an amendment to the U.S. Constitution is passed restoring, expanding or clarifying the authority the states have on abortion.

 The Supreme Court isn’t expected to decide on abortion ever again, and it’s unlikely a Constitutional amendment will ever be passed. To Think Progress and Salon’s credit, they have edited their stories to point out Section Two of the bill. HuffPost and Raw Story have not.

 Similar outrage happened with Texas House Bill 2, where opponents claimed all abortion would be banned after 20 weeks and almost all abortion clinics in Texas would have to close. However, Subsection 171.046 says abortion can be done if “in the physician’s reasonable medical judgment,” there is a condition that affects the woman’s health or the child has severe fetal abnormality. Section 11, part b gives clinics until September 2014 to meet the new standards or else they won’t be allowed to perform abortions.

 It’s understandable the abortion issue (and any social issue) causes a ton of emotion. But people need to be armed with the facts, before debating the merits of a particular bill or law. If they don’t, then there’s no point to any debate because it will only end in harsh words, hurt feelings and damaged relationships.

As scandal after scandal seems to be uncovered, people are still clinging to their liberal leadership regardless of the magnitude.   As some used to say “Nixon was the only person who could go to China” my father, and political cartoonist A.F. Branco, coined the phrase “ Only Obama can get away with a scandal.”

The NSA has decided that privacy is not important.   So what?

Benjamin Franklin once said, “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” So why should Franklin , the man Walter Isaacson stated was “the most accomplished American of his age and the most influential in inventing the type of society America would become”, be an expert on things of this nature?

He was an author, printer, political theorist, politician, postmaster, scientist, musician, inventor, satirist, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat.  Benjamin had a resume that arguably gave him a platform to suggest relevancy in our era, at least enough relevancy for some to lend an ear to his advice from the grave.  But if that’s not enough, it’s important to remember the setting in which Franklin lived.

For most of us, regardless of social status, we live in a time and place where we aren’t in the immediate midst of war or invasion.  We all have struggles, trials and tribulations, but many of us are also comfortable sitting behind our computers attempting to put into perspective the violence and insanity that we hear about in the middle east, and other parts of the world.   During Franklin’s era however, he was all too familiar with war.  He also knew the negative effects of a government who did not see “faces” but instead, faceless “numbers.”  Franklin was against authoritarianism in the government and in religion.  He had a profound respect for the teachings of Christ, stating that they were “the best the World ever saw, or is likely to see” but he also rejected the effects of religion, and realized the possibility that Christ’s words may have been corrupted over time.

All in all, Franklin was a brilliant man who realized the potential for human nature to create an environment that was none too friendly to the common hard working person.  His fundamental principles were built around the practical values of thrift, hard work, education, community spirit, and self-governing institutions.  Those same values built the country that we have today, rapidly disintegrating under the utopian façade of progressivism.

It isn’t just this current issue with the NSA.  We were warned before by another man, who’s fundamental principles were similarly aligned with Franklin.  Ronald Reagan stated that we would never vote for socialism ” but under the name of liberalism the American people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program.”  Reagan had a specific scathing review for governmental reform of healthcare, because under the false pretense of providing healthcare for the masses, we would also be subject to an intrusion of privacy.  I would encourage everyone to watch Reagan’s 10 minute speech he gave in 1961, which was an eery pre-cursor to the health care system being implemented today.  (You can find it on you tube)

WHY IS PRIVACY IMPORTANT?  If everyone is doing the right thing, they shouldn’t have anything to worry about right?  Hypothetically, sure.  But who exactly is to say what is “right“?  Ideology grounded in the Ten Commandments and Red Letters from the New Testament are something that have guided many in life when all else has proven rocky and unreliable.

With an ever creeping government intent on keeping tabs on its people, we are more and more subject to what the minds of the political elite deem the “correct” way of living which, according to the government, may often coincide with our personal morals, but what happens when it doesn’t?  Franklin and Reagan believed quite seriously in the following creed: “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Franklin, Reagan, and the many others before them were correct. Their intent was always to give people the freedom to make their own decisions, and pursue their personal motivations with minimal hindrance from the government.  They took their positions seriously, but more importantly they took seriously the fact that they derived “their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

The administration espouses that their actions are in the name of the safety of its people, but we will always be faced with enemies of our way of life.  “Essential” to our life and liberty is the ability to  make decisions without being put under a microscope, so to speak.  Furthermore, we’ve already seen the government take steps to re-establish some of the foundational belief systems our forefathers had, in the name of tolerance.

So, in an era where president Obama advises to reject the voices suggesting “tyranny is always lurking around the corner“, one may contend that a biblical perspective that advises  “test everything; hold fast to what is good,” might be a better alternative.  Having humbly taken the time to logically “test” some of the actions of the Obama administration, one can’t honestly say that the idea of tyranny is out of the question.

1. The Benghazi scandal
2. Fast and Furious gun running scandal
3. An IRS scandal targeting Conservative Tea Party groups.
4. A scandal involving collection of private phone records of several AP reporters.
5. The NSA and Prism scandals, essentially allowing the government access to all internet and phone activity.
6. The “Affordable” Healthcare Act that coincidentally will be deemed the largest tax increase in history.
7. Signing the NDAA which authorized the indefinite detention of American citizens without due process at Obama’s own discretion.

(THOSE ARE JUST A FEW)

Obama quoted his administration:
“I will also hold myself as president to a new standard of openness …. Let me say it as simply as I can: Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.”

Jay Carney stated:
“This president has demonstrated a commitment to transparency and openness that is greater than any administration has shown in the past, and he’s been committed to that since he ran for president and he’s taken a significant number of measures to demonstrate that.”

Whether its through rhetoric, mounds of confusing paperwork, or just plain denial,  the products of this administration have been anything but transparent.  It makes me uneasy to think that an administration that blatantly LIES about transparency will now have an unprecedented amount of access into our personal lives.  You can argue perhaps that some of these measures are necessary to ensure the safety of the American people,  but given the fact that our president has shown his disregard for our foundational documents, it doesn’t make me confident that he has our best interests in mind.

Ben Franklin also famously said,  “Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must begin by subduing the freeness of speech.”  Given the current IRS, and AP scandals its almost as if Franklin is here looking over our shoulders.  Everyone should stay grounded and “test everything.”  Not through the partisan side of Republican or Democrat, but through the humble eyes of a human being.  Right is right.

Violence is not the answer, but with enough people taking the time to hold fast to their values and not let political correctness sway them into feeling wrong, or obsolete,  good will prevail.  At the very least it will hold accountable those who think our foundation is changeable.

The Case for Liberty and an Article V Convention – Part I

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. –Such has been the patient sufferance of the citizens of these United States; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. The history of the present governing leadership is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states.

We are all, or should be, familiar with the foregoing passage from the Declaration of Independence. Except for two subtle changes made in the copy above, it stands as valid in today’s US political environment as it was in 1776.

Our government has become despotic to the point where it is now, or soon will be our duty to throw it off. Those wise men who assented to the Declaration were smart enough to include a method for doing so without guns, death, and destruction when they crafted our current Constitution. It is contained in Article Five.

Article V. The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two-thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

Article V gives the States the right to convene for the purpose of amending the document which gives our Federal Government its power. The states therefore can, by calling for an Article V convention, make the changes necessary to reign in the out of control Leviathan in Washington D.C., before it becomes necessary to defend ourselves from it with arms. This author submits that time is short. It would be to our benefit then, to call on our State lawmakers to make application to Congress for a general Article V convention as quickly as possible.

Part two of this series will cover the grievances which must be addressed and the abuses of power which the citizens of the several States have had to endure. Part three will suggest changes to our governing document which will again limit the power of the Federal Government and take into account some of the realities that were not in evidence 235 years ago. Part four will discuss the necessity of extreme caution in picking our representatives to such a convention, and suggest some possible conferees, and part five will lay out a suggested framework for the convention itself.

At this very moment, a great Patriot named Ernest Lee has embarked on a 1000 Mile March for Liberty from western Tennessee to Washington DC, and though he has not discussed his method for correction, he bears the principles of renewed Liberty and limited central government under his banner. He plans to arrive for a rally to present his grievances on the 2nd of September 2013. They are grievances with which many would agree.

People of like mind and similar concern all over the country are banding together and are frustrated at the rampant lawlessness and dishonesty of our Government, and the rapid erosion of our Liberty. Yet the proper course of action has been unclear. Submitted for your consideration is the remedy set forth by those great men of vision in Article V of the United States Constitution! The time for action is now!

Hit Show Ignores Bakery’s Right to Refuse Lesbians

The ABC hit show, What Would You Do, specializes in manufacturing awkward situations to see how the average person will react. Friday’s episode was no exception.

The first situation involved a bakery owner publicly turning away a lesbian couple wanting a wedding cake. He told them in no uncertain terms that he wouldn’t serve them on the ground that they were lesbians. You can watch the clip here.

Multiple bystanders supported the lesbians. Some going so far as to say that if the owner wouldn’t serve the lesbians, the bakery wouldn’t get their business either. The few customers that sided with the bakery owner chose not to have their faces shown on television.

While watching, not once did I see the actor playing the role of a bakery owner politely refuse away the couple. Instead he loudly used words such as “disgusting” and “appalling” to describe the lesbians and their behavior.

This prompted my tweet to host John Quinones:

I fully understand that advocates of gay marriage may consider my comparison of same sex couples to shoes insensitive. That is not my intention. My point is that stores have a long precedent that permits them to turn those away who do not fit their internal values.

But it goes further: Businesses have been sued and threatened to be fined for refusing to serve same sex couples. You can check out one of those instances here.

This kind of punishment brazenly violates business owners’ right to freedom of speech.

If you choose to exercise a gay lifestyle, that is in your constitutional rights to do so. Just as it is in a bakery’s constitutional right to turn you away because your lifestyle isn’t supported by their value system.

Finally, businesses who do turn customers away should do so respectfully, quietly, and delicately. I suspect that if the actor on “What Would You Do” had done the same we would have seen a different reaction from spectators.
