ROOFERS UNION SEEKS REPEAL/REFORM OF AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

WASHINGTON, DCROOFERS’ UNION SEEKS REPEAL/REFORM OF AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

Cites Loss of Benefits to Members; Harm to Industry and Multi-employer Health Plans

Washington, DC – United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers International President Kinsey M. Robinson issued the following statement on April 16, 2013, calling for a repeal or complete reform of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Our Union and its members have supported President Obama and his Administration for both of his terms in office.

But regrettably, our concerns over certain provisions in the ACA have not been addressed, or in some instances, totally ignored. In the rush to achieve its passage, many of the Act’s provisions were not fully conceived, resulting in unintended consequences that are inconsistent with the promise that those who were satisfied with their employer sponsored coverage could keep it.

These provisions jeopardize our multi-employer health plans, have the potential to cause a loss of work for our members, create an unfair bidding advantage for those contractors who do not provide health coverage to their workers, and in the worst case, may cause our members and their families to lose the benefits they currently enjoy as participants in multi-employer health plans.

For decades, our multi-employer health and welfare plans have provided the necessary medical coverage for our members and their families to protect them in times of illness and medical needs. This collaboration between labor and management has been a model of success that should be emulated rather than ignored. I refuse to remain silent, or idly watch as the ACA destroys those protections.

I am therefore calling for repeal or complete reform of the Affordable Care Act to protect our employers, our industry, and our most important asset: our members and their families.

If Baby Killer Kermit Gosnell Tortured Animals to Death Versus Black Babies The Left Would Demand His Life

black baby and preg mom

black baby and preg mom

If 20 pregnant women and 20 pregnant dogs were lined up before a firing squad and fired on, which group’s potential murder would the Left be most horrified over; dogs or human beings?

By the way the Left is ignoring Dr. Kermit B. Gosnell’s torturous murders of born children in his abortion clinic; I have to assume the Left’s horror only extends to the killing of animals and not human beings—unless of course it’s the killing of an Islamic terrorist, then all hell will break loose and we’ll see riots in the streets for the dead terrorist.

Maybe that’s why the Left is ignoring Kermit Gosnell: He’s a medical terrorist who performed abortions in the most heinous manner imaginable.

Dr. Kermit B. Gosnell regularly delivered live babies and murdered them. This news is not important to the left wing, pro-abortion mainstream media, because Dr. Gosnell did not slaughter kittens and puppies.

Gosnell “catered to women” who could not get abortions legally, because they were 20 weeks to six months or more into their pregnancies.

Gosnell’s abortion procedures went beyond anything conceived of. Anyone who reads the “Report Of The Grand Jury” will think they are reading the script to a violent horror movie:

This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable, babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors. The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths. Over the years, many people came to know that something was going on here. But no one put a stop to it.

Making things worse, Gosnell’s employees were not nurses or doctors; they pretended to be licensed medical practitioners, making diagnoses and performing medical procedures only licensed, schooled medical doctors or nurses can perform.

Despite screams of pain from mothers and birthed babies being tortured to death, these so-called “doctors” ignored it all. The horrific style was part of “Gosnell’s approach…,” “keep volume high, expenses low – and break the law.”

According the Grand Jury:

Gosnell’s approach, whenever possible, was to force full labor and delivery of premature infants on ill-informed women. The women would check in during the day, make payment, and take labor-inducing drugs. The doctor wouldn’t appear until evening, often 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00 p.m., and only then deal with any of the women who were ready to deliver.”

If that wasn’t enough:

Many of them gave birth before he even got there. By maximizing the pain and danger for his patients, he minimized the work, and cost, for himself and his staff. The policy, in effect, was labor without labor. There remained, however, a final difficulty. When you perform late-term ‘abortions’ by inducing labor, you get babies. Live, breathing, squirming babies. By 24 weeks, most babies born prematurely will survive if they receive appropriate medical care. But that was not what the Women’s Medical Society was about. Gosnell had a simple solution for the unwanted babies he delivered: he killed them. He didn’t call it that. He called it “ensuring fetal demise.” The way he ensured fetal demise was by sticking scissors into the back of the baby’s neck and cutting the spinal cord. He called that “snipping.’

Just imagine veterinarians performing such vile procedures on animals. Animals rights activists already scream bloody murder over pet shops and “puppy mills,” but never put their efforts against abuse into fighting the murder of human beings, specifically babies born in abortion clinics where doctors order their murders.

According to investigators:

Medical equipment – such as the defibrillator, the EKG, the pulse oximeter, the blood pressure cuff – was generally broken; even when it worked, it wasn’t used. The emergency exit was padlocked shut. And scattered throughout, in cabinets, in the basement, in a freezer, in jars and bags and plastic jugs, were fetal remains. It was a baby charnel house.

Imagine veterinarians joking about killing animals the way Dr. Gosnell joked about murdering born babies:

[One baby boy] was breathing and moving when Dr. Gosnell severed his spine and put the body in a plastic shoebox for disposal. The doctor joked that this baby was so big he could ‘walk me to the bus stop.’

PETA and the Left would march on Gosnell’s home no doubt calling for his “disposal.” But then again, Gosnell is an animal, so don’t look for the Left to stand up against him.

At Gosnell’s clinic, there was “Another, Baby Boy B, whose body was found at the clinic frozen in a one-gallon spring-water bottle, was at least 28 weeks of gestational age when he was killed. Baby C was moving and breathing for 20 minutes before an assistant came in and cut the spinal cord, just the way she had seen Gosnell do it so many times.”

Gosnell’s “nurse” watched her boss, who never hid his violent practice, murder babies born six months old and up daily, never once dialing 911 or going to police, begging they raid Gosner to prevent murder. She too is on trial for murder and faces life in prison.

The Grand Jury Report states Gosnell induced labor on every woman, causing as much pain as possible to mother and child, tearing open cervix’s, colons, puncturing uterus’s, ripping intestines, leaving parts of fetuses inside mothers, procedures so painful and cheap (Gosnell liked cheap procedures) they caused convulsive seizures, causing women to fall of operating tables onto their heads, never receiving care, and much more.

Gosnell’s staff said he found the screams of mothers and children annoying.

There is another side to Gosnell’s eugenics horrors the media ignores: Gosnell is black man who purposely mistreated impoverished black women in the most heinous fashion possible. Yet, when one white patient entered his clinic, he used the utmost care.

black baby in gun crosshairs

The only reason Gosnell was caught is because police raided his clinic for selling illegal prescriptions: Money flowed into the clinic via “fake prescriptions that brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.” Otherwise the racist Gosnell and his “doctors” would still be torturing poor black women and their birthed babies.

Why isn’t this racist, murderous Gosnell making left wing media headlines? He’s a black abortionist who murdered poor black babies.

Why doesn’t the Left care about that racism? Because Gosnell was accomplishing the century long progressives plan: Population control to eliminate poor children from society, furthering Margaret Sanger’s Negro Project to exterminate the black race, and allowing only the fittest and wealthiest among us to survive.

If Dr. Kermit Gosnell was a veterinarian who slaughtered animals, the Left would demand his life. But he murdered black children, so he did the world a favor.

The Obamacare Recession

Obamacare recession

The sequester’s $85 billion dollar slowing of federal spending isn’t what’s going to stall the economy this year – that will come from the President’s healthcare reform.

The White House and congressional Democrats have been hard at-work spinning the March jobs slowdown as an effect of sequestration even though the details of the report show no slowdown in government hiring. As sequestration would first impact government jobs, the correlation is non-existent.

The true culprit in the coming recession is not George Bush, Republican filibusters or slightly slower government spending – its Obamacare.

The President’s marquee healthcare reform law is taking its toll on business owners and families as it is directly causing premiums to skyrocket – some by more than double – and the toll on the economy is just beginning.

An exhaustive study by three congressional committees delivers startling news about the dire effects of Obamacare: President Barack Obama’s signature legislation could increase health insurance premiums by over 200 percent and render insurance coverage unaffordable for millions of Americans.

Insurance companies, states and the federal government have been frantically trying to implement the complicated and costly healthcare law.

Insurance companies have spent millions of dollars installing new software, designing integration with state/federal exchanges and changing their processes to deal with the concept of premium subsidies and premium cost-sharing – two major components of Obamacare. That money has to come from somewhere and its coming in the form of skyrocketing premiums.

States that chose to either implement their own exchanges or work in a state-federal partnership to form exchanges are seeing their costs balloon as well. State taxpayers will bear the brunt of those expenses.

The federal government, realizing that the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is too complex, is planning to hire Obamacare Insurance Navigators at a cost of $29-$49.00 per hour. When the government hires, the costs come from taxpayers. Increasing costs mean increasing taxes – just as the President has proposed in his budget plan.

The revenue needed to fund the expense is coming out of the pockets of consumers and going to a massively-expanding federal bureaucracy. More taxpayer money is going to fund Department of Health and Human Services regulation, State and Federal exchanges and now more federal employees – expensive ones.

Consumers are getting hit from another side as premiums affect their paychecks and their employers.

As employers are forced to pay increasing premiums, more revenue must be directed away from pay and hours. Many employers are converting full-time positions to part-time or eliminating them altogether to avoid the overwhelming costs associated with healthcare reform.

Skyrocketing premiums mean less money for workers. As employer-provided health insurance usually splits the cost between the employee and employer, the worker will see a shrinking paycheck as premiums increase.

According to a Milliman Consulting Group study on insurance rates, the pain will be substantial for the middle-class:

the poor are likely to pay significantly less than they do now while middle-class families dig deeper into pocketbooks.

President Obama told the American people that this law would bend the healthcare cost curve down. In just its first few years of implementation it has done the opposite.

Even Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted that “there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market.” When asked about rapidly-increasing premiums.

Some proponents of the healthcare law have made the case that premiums are rising due to increasing healthcare costs. White House deputy press secretary Josh Earnest countered that claim saying that “I would actually point to the results that we’re already seeing from the Affordable Care Act, which is a savings of $2.1 billion.”

So if healthcare costs are not causing insurance premiums to rise – there’s only one culprit left and the drain on the economy will likely push the country back into recession.

WSJ: Our Changing Relationship with Health Care

wsj board

obamacare falloutThis week in the Wall Street Journal there is an interesting ‘on the ground’ look at health care and how it has changed in the past 50 years. The article is particularly worth watching because it is written by ‘former’ physician Dr. Ed Marsh.

Dr. Marsh opened his practice in pediatrics in the early 1960’s, ran a solo practice for many years until he joined a third party group, feeling the growing interaction with insurance and government regulations.

“Preventive care” became the touchstone. The concept is obvious, but the evidence for its value, and especially its potential for savings, is rarely conclusive.

Insurance relationships drove practice relationships. Patients were more likely to come to me because their insurance told them to, and more likely to leave, despite our congeniality, because their insurance required it. Thus our dealings were less personally rewarding, for my patients and for me.

When it became increasingly difficult to work according to my principles, I closed my practice, first joining a “prepaid” group for 15 years, and then leaving patient care altogether. As more physicians leave active practice, it must be appreciated that a focus on the economics of health care is not the only, and perhaps not even the most important, reason for their disillusionment. The glow of the personal relationship one might have with one’s patients is being extinguished.

You can read the full article at the Wall Street Journal. For additional information on the changes in health care the editorial board of the WSJ gives a helpful, yet brief, synopsis explaining our managed care past and where we are today. Board member and Pulitzer Prize winner Joe Rago explains why the big bureaucracy of Obamacare will decrease the relationship between you and your doctor while making it more difficult to get the care you need.

HHS Then: Time to Cut Medicare Advantage…Now: Time to Boost Medicare Advantage

Medicare

Kathleen_Sebelius_Secretary_of_Health_and_Human_Services_nominationIt was just February of this year that the Health and Human Services Department announced it would cut payments to Medicare Advantage, using those funds to help finance the expenses of ObamaCare. Now, in a reversal the Obama Administration said it will increase the payment for health insurers who offer the Medicare Advantage program.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services said on Monday it will increase the rate by 3.3 percent in 2014, reversing a 2.3 percent cut announced in February.

This reversal followed an intense lobbying program by seniors and Medicare Advantage Insurance providers who were warned of significant cuts to the popular program. Some insurance providers had hinted they would drop the program due to the cuts.

“The policies announced today further the agency’s goal of improving payment accuracy in all our programs, while at the same time ensuring program stability and preserving beneficiary choice,” Jonathan Blum, acting principal deputy administrator for the CMS, said in a statement.

Again, as with the Affordable Care Act itself, it appears there was little actual foresight or planning.

Single Democrats? Here’s Your New Health Insurance.

obamacare fallout

Do you know any young single Obama voters? Maybe the guys and gals who were excited about their “free” contraceptives offered through Obamacare? Those who excitedly said, “Yes. Yes. We all need health care.”

The first new price rates came out today in Vermont. An enthusiastically democratic state, Vermont politicians have been pushing for a single payer program within their state. The state is implementing its own health care program allowing it to receive a waiver from Obamacare. Which all sounds good…

At least until people find out the “free” programs actually cost money.

In the released rates, a family of four making $34,000 government subsidies will reduce their health care cost to less than $50 a month. Of course, that same family (as any VT family of four making under $57,000) per year qualifies today for the state run Medicaid program.

But what if you, still living in Vermont, and are single making $40,000. Next year, your  health insurance cost will be about $300 per month. Oops.

Visit the Vermont health insurance website to see for yourself. The idea of single payer insurance with added perks and benefits seems great…until you realize, somebody has to pay for it.

Obamacare Will Cost More. Surprised?

obamacare costs

obamacare costsThis week the Society of Actuaries released a study that demonstrates costs for health care will rise for many under Obamacare. In a study of individual policies it was found that states offering low cost insurance the prices could rise significantly with increases as high as 80% in Ohio and Wisconsin, and 60% in California, Idaho, Maryland and Indiana. It is expected that much of the increases would then be passed on to customers through higher premiums.

Criticized by the Obama administration as being biased the SoA states they were commissioned to do the evaluation by UnitedHealth Group but denies they skewed the information. Read the report here.

Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated: “These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market. “But we feel pretty strongly that with subsidies available to a lot of that population, that they are really going to see much better benefit for the money that they’re spending.”

It is worth noting that individual insurance policies currently make up only 6% of health coverage. The study did not evaluate employer insurance costs. It is also worth noting that Secretary Sebelius and Team Obama continue to promote taxpayer sponsored subsidies to reduce expenses to many recipients.

This sudden admission of increased cost as now being reported by many Obamacare proponents may be a signal of realization that the promised reduction in health care will not be as promised.

Armed Federal Agents To Impose Obamacare on States

Bible, flag, guns, Our rights

Il Duce ObamaI just read a story that made my skin crawl.  Barack Obama has declared that the federal government will send federal agents into states to take over their insurance industry if they don’t surrender to Obamacare and set up the exchanges demanded by the regime.  Obamacare was passed in 2009 using bribery and arm twisting, topped off by a complete perversion of the legislative process.  It was opposed by a huge majority of We the People and reconciliation was used in a total disregard for the normal legislative process. This action led to the TEA Party uprising in 2010 that saw Republicans sweeping elections across the nation.

Now Obama brazenly stands up there and says that We the People have absolutely no voice in how we attend to our own health care.  This is bold, in your face, tyranny.  This is treason!!! Obama and his cadre of Marxists have once again thrown the Constitution out the window and said “I demand this…..!!!!!” or “I will by-pass Congress and do as I wish”.  Now he has decided to by-pass the state governments and the very voice of the people.  Is this not the definition of a dictatorship?

We either live by the Constitution or we live by the dictates of Der Fuhrer and his band of cutthitler4hroats.  The sad fact is that the ”leadership” of both political parties, the “ruling elite”, have joined forces with Obama to subjugate the population.  We now find “universal firearm registration” becoming much more acceptable to the Republican Party establishment, no surprise there.  All the noise about the assault weapons ban was a smoke screen for universal registration.  As soon as they know where all the weapons are they don’t need to ban them, they can just come out and confiscate them.  This is tyranny!!

Barack Obama has declared that he will dictate how we obtain and pay for our own health care, and he will send his armed agents to enforce it.  Any guess as to where a lot of the DHS purchases will be going???  The 10th Amendment doesn’t mean any more to these people than does the Dept Homeland Security Logo2nd Amendment.  He will send his Gestapo agents into each state and just take over the industry, he will “nationalize” the insurance industry.

Anyone who opposes this dictator will be dealt with by “federales”.  In 2010, Oklahoma voters rejected Obamacare in a 70%-30% vote.  Obama says what we want doesn’t matter and that he will impose his will on us by using armed federal agents to insure compliance.

This is not a battle between Democrat and Republican; it is a battle between Good and Evil, between We the republican logoPeople and a tyrannical government.  They are already giving massive amounts of military hardware to city and state law enforcement agencies.  Some sheriffs and policeDemomcrat Logo chiefs have said they will stand with Obama but many have said they will stand with We People.

The few people in Congress who speak up for the Constitution are pilloried by people on both sides of the political “aisle”.  Personally, I don’t see an aisle between the parties.  The federal government, in the name of Der Fuhrer Barack Obama, has announced its decision to subjugate its citizens.  They no longer make any pretense of “looking out for our best interests” and have gone right to threatening to sending armed agents to impose their will on what is supposed to be a free people.

Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Benito Mussolini did this very thing when they seized control of their nations.  Anyone who refusedStalin Bans Guns to comply with the dictator was either bribed or intimidated into submission, or replaced (read that: shot).  As of now we have come to the point of “weBenito Mussolini refuse and they replace”.  How long before they step in somewhere else?  The federal government has been far too involved in our everyday lives for years.  Now that a majority has bucked up and said “whoa Hoss!!”, Obama and his cutthroats are going to just send in their Gestapo agents to enforce the dictate.

The question is, what are the states going to do????  Are the governors and other elected officers of these states going to accede to the demands of the dictatorship or are they going to stand up for the Constitution?  Are they going to honor their oath of office and their pledge to We the People???

Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner John Doak has said he does not have the authority to enforce federal laws and will not do so.  What will Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and the Republican controlled legislature do??? Will they step up and use state Mary Fallinlaw enforcement to prevent this act of treason or will they roll over and give in???  If they will surrender our 9th and 10th Amendment rights today what happens when the “federales” get finished with the 2nd Amendment?

If Congress, both political parties, and the governors of the threatened states, allow Obama to get away with such a blatant act of tyranny where will it stop??  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know what happens when a small group of people can use force to impose their will on the majority of the population.

And what about those states not directly affected by this?  Do you think this doesn’t affect you?  I remember a quote from Pastor Martin Niemoller  in which he mentioned all the times people were trampled on by the Nazi government and he said nothing because it wasn’t him. Then they got to him and he was alone.  We all must stand together now or there won’t be any standing together later because many of us will be gone.

Now is the time for the governors to get together and create a plan of action against this blatant tyranny.  Many sheriffs have said they will stick with We the People, and We the People will stick by their sides.  The time for party politics is gone.  This is about the liberty of the citizens of the United States of America.  The noose is tightening around our necks and the ruling political class is tightening it as fast as they can because they see the citizens waking up. They see citizens beginning to make serious preparations for an all-out assault on our freedom by a dictatorial oligarchy in Washington, D. C. (De Cesspool) and they are moving as fast as they can to head off any ability of said citizens to oppose them.Bible, flag, guns, Our rights

The people are mobilizing to fight off the activities of a government overstepping its Constitutional bounds while most of our elected officials, in both political parties, band together to remove our only means of protection, the 2nd Amendment.

This action bConstitutiony the regime will abolish the 9th and 10th Amendments; universal firearm registration will abolish the 2nd Amendment.  The 4th Amendment against illegal search and seizure had been trampled to death numerous times in the last few years.  Our Republic is on the verge of oblivion and dictatorship is on the horizon.  Obama, Boehner, McConnell, Reid, Pelosi, McCain, Graham, Cantor, Schumer, and the rest are not going to just give up when they are a whisker away from the absolute control they have been seeking.  Their behind-the-scenes handlers won’t allow it either.  The window for a peaceful resolution is rapidly closing.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Political Stance — Economic Liberty : Platform of Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists

Previously, beginning March 15, 2013  I posted the Platform of the Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists (TLC) political initiative.  This is not an official political party as yet.  However, it is a series of positions which can unify the nation around sound public policy which a vast number of Americans are craving.

Below, in conjunction with the previous posts, is the first section of the statement of the Political Stance of this initiative.

Platform of Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists (TLC)

POLITICAL STANCE

2.0    Economic Liberty

All members of society should have abundant opportunities to achieve economic success. The Free Market Capitalism, a free and competitive market, allocates resources in the most efficient manner. Each person has the right to offer goods and services to others within such a market. The only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. All efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society within a Free Market Capitalism system.

2.1    Property and Contract

Property rights are entitled to the same protection as all other human rights. The owners of property have the full right to control, use, dispose of, or in any manner enjoy, their property without interference, until and unless the exercise of their control infringes the valid rights of others.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose all controls on wages, prices, rents, profits, production, and interest rates.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists advocate the repeal of all laws banning or restricting the advertising of prices, products, or services.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose all violations of the right to private property, liberty of contract, and freedom of trade. The right to trade includes the right not to trade — for any reasons whatsoever. Where property, including land, has been taken from its rightful owners by the government or private action in violation of individual rights, Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists favor restitution to the rightful owners, where possible to return it in like condition as when acquired.

2.2    Environment

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists support a clean and healthy environment and sensible use of our natural resources.  Private landowners and conservation groups have a vested interest in maintaining natural resources. Pollution and misuse of resources cause damage to our ecosystem. Protecting the environment requires a clear definition and enforcement of individual rights in resources like land, water, air, and wildlife. Free markets and property rights stimulate the technological innovations and behavioral changes required to protect our environment and ecosystems. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists realize that our planet’s climate is constantly changing, yet environmental advocates and social pressure are the most effective means of changing public behavior, rather than the use of coercive force of government.

2.3    Energy and Resources

While energy is needed to fuel a modern society, government should not be subsidizing any particular form of energy. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose all government control of energy pricing, allocation, and production, other than what is rightfully owned by government in an open competitive marketplace.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists endorse government officials encouraging the development of renewable energy sources, without regulatory enforcement, requirement, or funding thereof.

2.4    Government Finance and Spending

All persons are entitled to keep the fruits of their labor. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists call for the repeal of the income tax, the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service and all federal programs and services not required under the U.S. Constitution.  Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose any requirements forcing employers to serve as tax collectors.

Government should not incur debt, which burdens future generations without their consent. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose the passage of a “Balanced Budget Amendment” to the U.S. Constitution.

Governments at all levels should operate within available revenue, accrued from consumption tax rates approved by the people.

Whereas all federal spending originates in the House of Representatives the budget development process of the Government United States of America should be modified as follows:

  1. The budget shall be a two-year budget coinciding with the 18 months of the current congress, begin on the first July of said congress. (I.e. the 112th Congress runs from January 3, 2011-January 3, 2013.  The 112th Congress would adopt a budget encompassing two years beginning July 1, 2011.)
  2. All funding for federal programs shall be by a general consumption tax, or special program revenue fee-for-service.
  3. Once an initial consumption tax rate has been established by Congress, not to exceed 17%, any increase in the rate must be approved by the people at the same time as congressional elections, and by fifty-one percent (51%) of the states.
  4. A general government reserve must be established and maintained at a rate equivalent to 1/3rd of the approved consumption tax rate. (I.e. if the approved tax rate is 17%, than the reserve rate would be 5.7 %.).  [If the budget were 2 trillion dollars, required reserves would be 114 billion dollars].

2.5    Money and Financial Markets

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists favor free-market banking, with unrestricted competition among banks and depository institutions of all types. Individuals engaged in voluntary exchange should be free to use as money the legal tender of the United States.

2.6    Monopolies and Corporations

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists defend the right of individuals to form corporations, cooperatives and other types of companies based on voluntary association. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists seek to divest government of all functions that can be provided by non-governmental organizations or private individuals.  Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose government subsidies to business, labor, or any other special interest. Industries should be governed by free market capitalism.

2.7    Labor Markets

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists support repeal of all laws which impede the ability of any person to find employment.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose government-fostered forced retirement.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists support the right of free persons to associate or not associate in labor unions, and an employers should have the right to recognize or refuse to recognize a union.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose government interference in bargaining, such as compulsory arbitration or imposing an obligation to bargain.

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists oppose all forms of unionized government employment, unless specifically approved by a vote of the people of the respective jurisdiction. (I.e. local or state government shall maintain the authority to submit to its respective citizens the right to decide whether such government shall be obligated to unionize any or all of its employees.)

2.8    Education

Education, like any other service, is best provided by the free market, achieving greater quality and efficiency with more diversity of choice. Schools should be managed locally to achieve greater accountability and parental involvement. Recognizing that the education of children is inextricably linked to moral values, Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists would return authority to parents to determine the education of their children, without interference from government. In particular, parents should have control of and responsibility for all funds expended for their children’s education.

2.9    Health Care

Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists favor restoring and reviving a free market health care system. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists recognize the freedom of individuals to determine the level of health insurance they want, the level of health care they want, the care providers they want, the medicines and treatments they will use and all other aspects of their medical care, including end-of-life decisions.

People should be free to purchase health insurance across state lines.

2.10    Retirement and Income Security

Retirement planning is the responsibility of the individual, not the government. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists would phase out the current government-sponsored Social Security system and transition to a private system.

Individuals have responsibility, accountability and liberty to manage their own lives.  However, we have learned from experience that most individuals, unaware of what future consequences of their life choices may bring, will fail to plan for adequate resources to care for themselves during time of incapacity.  Further, although liberty is individual, care for one another is a natural part of life’s experience. Governments in all ages have sought to control and provide for individuals during periods of incapacity.   In light of this reality it is proper for governments to require that all members of society prepare for their own eventual incapacity through a self-administered plan for future self-sufficiency.  Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists directly oppose any government regulation, control, or management of such self-care programs beyond requiring individuals to select such a plan and adhere to it.

The proper and most effective source of help for the poor is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals. Traditional Libertarian Constitutionalists believe members of society will become more charitable and civil society will be strengthened as government reduces its activity in this realm.

Nanny B’s Soda Ban Struck Down!

100_0975

100_0975Super-Sized Soda drinkers across New York City breathed a sigh of relief Monday when Mayor Bloomberg’s large size soda ban was struck down in the courts.

Beverage companies argued that the ban was inconsistent since it would still allow grocery and convenience stores to sell sugary drinks in any size. Convenience stores do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Board of Health. One could still buy a Big Gulp at the corner store but would have to purchase two smaller drinks at the next door McDonald’s to get the equivalent amount.

NY State Supreme Court Justice Milton Tingling ruled the new regulation was “arbitrary and capricious” and declared it invalid.

Tingling ruled, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the city’s Board of Health did not have the authority to issue the soda ban. You can read the full text of the ruling here.

The ban would have prohibited the city’s food-service businesses from selling sugary drinks larger than 16 ounce. Bloomberg’s Nanny policy will be placed on hold until after an appeal which the mayor stated, is sure to be overturned.

Fellow big government advocate Piers Morgan suggested that Mayor Bloomberg’s soda large soda ban was good for Americans. “I think people need the nanny state occasionally, particularly on issues like smoking, drinking, guzzling sodas that are too big for them, eating 16 Big Macs a day,” Morgan stated. “Whatever it may be, the reality is we all need a little bit of nannying about us.”

Sorry Piers. Today you can still order a pizza and get a two-liter bottle of soda or order a large drink with your Big Mac. It’s a sweet victory as individual rights are preserved…at least for the moment.

Dr. Ben Carson’s Biblical Life Lessons as High School ROTC Cadet Colonel

Dr. Ben Carson Scolds Obama about his failings as president

Dr. Ben Carson Scolds Obama about his failings as president

With a father in the hospital dying, the first thought on my mind walking into a high school ROTC class for the first time was not to hear the sharp commands of the cadet colonel Ben Carson. Yet, this was the tail end of the 1960’s and the nation had a new president, and the soldiers in Vietnam were welcoming new army recruits by the thousands who had to be prepared.

But in the city of Detroit at Southwestern High School, in 1969, there was another war occurring. It was a war of ideology based on anger as the city was recovering from riots still smoldering in its inner core from two years earlier. The community and the high schools had a Black Panther Party that was rising as an ideology being embraced by young black teens and older as the correct revolutionary pathway to social justice.

Yet, that morning as the young ROTC cadets looked on at this tall slender ROTC Commandant of Cadets, it was clear by his clear crisp commands there was a better way. His firm but calm demeanor had a different type of leadership that veered away from violent bellicose leftist overthrow demagoguery offered by the Black Panther Party leaders in the school and the neighborhood.

At this first cadet formation , Cadet Colonel Ben Carson spelled out a litany of expectations and goals that he insisted were not his goals but were to be our goals, if we were to ever leave school and go further and higher. His words were planted as nourishing seeds in the minds of those willing to accept and to create their own pathway toward a freedom from the street to the freedom of the ideals created and tested in the mind.

So as Dr. Ben Carson stood before the annual National Prayer Breakfast to speak to a different audience, he reminded them about the higher aspirations of America and an American Dream. This was a dream not built upon scapegoating, and blame and class division and warfare, but on the higher principles of life which are biblically based. It is easy for America to see; his words were not just his principles and beliefs but belonged to the nation as well.

Yet, there were those including Obama who were upset or outraged. Some stated how dare this doctor scold the president, who had just sat in his quiet surliness and listened to Dr. Ben Carson remind him of the fierce urgency of now and Obama’s own failings.

Dr. Carson responded to those critical of his speech by stating, “Well, when did this become a monarchy? You know, we are the people. The president works for us and, you know, we need to remember that. This is a country that is for of and by the people, not for of and by the government and that is the big battle that we are in right now.”

Ben Carson, spoke boldly about social and political issues from a conservative perspective which were unvarnished. He scolded Obama about his failing health care policies, tax policies that are unworkable and an education policy that is dead on arrival.

Why does Dr. Carson care so fervently and so deeply? It is quite obvious. He loves America and all that God has given him the ability to do and to helps others with. Dr. Carson has insisted all along, “I have to come to realize that God does not want to punish us, but rather, to fulfill our lives. God created us, loves us and wants to help us to realize our potential so that we can be useful to others.”

It is clear that Dr. Ben Carson’s leadership did not originate from being divisive or his values, born in the seeds of hate. Rather, his leadership was nurtured in the garden of experiences, and soldered into his soul by life as it is lived in service and sincere commitment in both deed and action.

The cadets who entered that small little ROTC room in the winter of 1969 had no thought that a renaissance of ideas and transformative words were being planted that day and everyday by him.

Outside the doors of the ROTC room were the unharnessed calls by the Black Panther Party followers who derided the black ROTC cadets as Uncle Toms, and worse. Yet inside the walls of the ROTC room was the calming and continued influence of the command of Cadet Colonel Ben Carson.

As each week passed, the officers under his command moved about their training roles with the guidance he imparted, as a leader who was teaching how to take command by first taking responsibility. As he walked around in the back of the room, his eyes and his words were felt, when he made corrective suggestions to officers and sergeants alike, about purpose and perfection.

As the months moved on, after the death of my father, I learned as other cadets who had challenges and remorseful incidents in their own lives, learned how to lead to benefit others. Colonel Carson reminded my twin brother Evin and I, that as young soldiers or as young leaders, each one could either commit to placing blame, making excuses, or be the best, because the nation itself needed the best that each could offer…no excuses accepted.

So as Dr, Ben Carson spoke before the annual National Prayer Breakfast audience including an apparently irritated President Barack Obama, the gentle but firm words of a former cadet ROTC colonel filled the room. These were transformative words of hope based on faith.

There is a commander who is greater than all who would attempt to claim his title and that is God. The biblical teachings which influenced Dr. Carson words at the annual Prayer Breakfast spelled out the responsibilities and challenges Americans face. Eyes on the future, is what Ben Carson counseled young cadets to embrace. He insisted that the future must filled with purpose.

Dr. Ben Carson is a man who is governed by the purposeful biblical principles he learned as a child, imparted and taught as a cadet officer, and practiced throughout his life as a healer. That lesson is concise, and President Obama would do well to listen, and become a leader of all Americans and not the strong-arm belligerent despot of the liberal left. Instead embrace this lesson, Luke 6:45 “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

How fitting that at a national Prayer Breakfast that a man filled with God’s words has the moral courage and leadership to choose God’s time to remind Obama he is not divine nor is he God. Dr. Benjamin Carson not only has gifted hands but he speaks with inspirationally gifted words and a gifted heart, which all America benefits from!

ObamaCare May Impact Grocery Prices

100_0525

100_0525In another ‘unexpected’ consequence of ObamaCare grocery prices are expected to go up. Contained within the 2000 page law is a mandate that restaurants provide nutritional information on their menus. The Food and Drug Administration took a fairly well supported idea and decided to extend this rule to supermarkets and convenience stores.

The proposed regulations will require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad and food bars, delis and bakeries. Grocers say that these regulations will require new and expensive nutritional data software and fear of stiff penalties for errors.

The FDA says ObamaCare just wants to help Americans live healthier lives. But maybe Americans would like to be able to buy their groceries without the government telling them what to eat.

Watch the Fox News story as they detail these new regulations:

Speaking Truth in front of POTUS. Dr. Benjamin Carson: Poverty Can Be Only Temporary

benjamin carson

benjamin carsonThis year’s keynote speaker for the National Prayer Breakfast was Dr. Benjamin Carson, a world renowned Pediatric Neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins. Some will recall the movie ‘Gifted Hands’ which was the story about Dr. Carson. As a time when so many believe there is no way out of poverty his speeches provide insight and inspiration.

Using his own personal upbringing as an example, Dr. Carson’s speech tackled a range of issues ranging from education to personal responsibility.

Some of Dr. Carson’s critical remarks were pointed directly at policies approved of by the Obama administration. Using parables, as did his role model Jesus, Dr. Carson shared some of his ‘non-PC’ ways to improve the country.

There are sure to be short clips of this speech but I recommend watching the full 25 minutes and then share it with your friends. We can also hope that the president (sitting off to the left at the dais) was actually listening and perhaps will take some of Dr Carson’s suggestions to heart.

Hello. Is Anyone Listening?

For the past month I have been reading, writing, and then rewriting articles that I haven’t finished. I have been wracking my brain, trying to figure out a way to get the message through to people, so they understand we are rapidly becoming a POLICE STATE and quite literally on the brink of civil war.  There are so many factors to consider and so much evidence out there which supports what I am saying, yet, I still wonder why so many Americans remain disengaged or have no interest?  Are they just plain stupid or is it they just don’t care? Whatever the reason, if there is one, once the inevitable occurs it will be way to late for many people.

In the past couple of years tensions under this president have heightened.  States  are claiming sovereignty unter the 10th Amendment http://www.panamalaw.org/US_states_filing_state_sovereignty_laws.html or http://www.panamalaw.org/US_states_filing_state_sovereignty_laws.html.  We have terrorist camps doing military training on our own soil without any interference by the Federal Government whose only role should be to protect US citizens here or abroad. http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/hannity/2009/02/17/frightening-film-us-terrorism-training-camps.

Our President is allowing drowns to spy on its own people, they have cameras already in place, and more importantly  — no one can get an answer, from the people you put in charge of your life, as to whether or not it is okay to shoot US citizens.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x90cCC1UDWE  Perhaps some of  you think you that will be safe?  I don’t know what what you think? I’m just wondering?  It would appear not many people seem interested in the military training that is suddenly occurring nationwide.  And what about the fact that SOME police and sheriff depts are reporting they will NOT support any Bills which go against the 2nd Amendment, nor will they infringe on the rights, guaranteed in the Constitution,  and take fire on American citizens. Shouldn’t every police dept, sheriff dept be vocal about that?  Why aren’t they. Perhaps you might want to look into that by writing, calling, and getting answers from you city, county, and state depts. http://www.news4jax.com/news/Sheriffs-show-support-for-2nd-Amendment/-/475880/18403042/-/xs13brz/-/index.html

I think everyone, well, most everyone can agree the economy is failing.  When the feds stop printing the the worthless money they are putting out, as the debt continues to spiral out of control, and as taxes continue to rise by a president who ‘swore’ (lol) he wouldn’t raise taxes I think most of us can agree it is just a matter of time before our economic system fails completely.  Some states are already at ways to remedy the inevitable by creating their own currency. http://consumerist.com/2013/02/06/is-virginia-really-trying-to-mint-its-own-money/

If the new health care bill by President Obama is so great  that some of you were so convinced it is the greatest thing since color T.V. then why I ask is President Obama, his family, and Congress are all exempt from it? http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/23/obamacare-for-everyone-but-obama/

Article V of the Constitution states:

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it
necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the
application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states,
shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case,
shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this
Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the
several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one
or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress;
provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one
thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first
and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that
no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage
in the Senate.

“What is Convention USA? Convention USA is an interactive, virtual convention being conducted on the Internet for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United States in the manner provided for in Article V of the federal constitution. Who is behind it? Convention USA, Inc. is a Florida non profit corporation organized by Judge Thomas E. Brennan and a few associates. Judge Brennan was Chief Justice of Michigan and the founder of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, which is the largest accredited college of law in America.” https://www.conventionusa.org/

I read an article today which really summarized everything I planned on saying, and then some. You can find the article I am referring to here: http://capitolhilloutsider.com/is-obama-pushing-for-a-civil-war/   The author does a good job putting things in simple terms so everyone can understand what is at stake here.

This article touches on some of the issues at stake. I would be here all day if I tried to present more, plus it might already be overwhelming for some people. Nonetheless you have a moral, ethical, and civil duty, not just to yourself, but to every single person in your life, to examine the facts, do some research, and then prepare accordingly.

The Law of the Morning

wisdomway

‘Forty is the old age of youth and fifty is the youth of old age.’

I can’t believe we’re having this conversation. I can’t believe people think it’s okay to have this conversation. It is apparently so, ‘this conversation’ having advanced rapidly since 2009. Of old age Longfellow appropriately wrote:

“Age is opportunity no less,
Than youth itself, though in another dress,
And as the evening twilight fades away,
The sky is filled with stars, invisible by day.”

Most of us know about the $700-billion taken from Medicare seniors to fund one-third of Obamacare; and of its 15-member, unaccountable Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) bureaucracy coined “Death Panel,” to determine who receives what medical services. Harrowing first-hand accounts of declined senior care have surfaced. The lives and unnecessary, politically determined deaths of America’s elderly are now in play.

On the heels of these cutbacks and under guise of saving an already government-robbed-into-bankruptcy Social Security and Medicare system is the ever-increasing and often misleading conversation about seniors being too costly to the rest of America. That conversation has since expounded into the proposed bullying of those overweight for similar reasons, which I personally find just as indecently unconscionable. For some reason Americans are okay with this?

We’ve been nudged into having these ‘conversations’ casually now, over a cup of coffee, at the water cooler, among friends … even publicly, on television. As if the those affected are not here to see and hear us. As if they are so insignificant we don’t care whether they do. As if by not saying “my grandmother costs too much to keep alive” or “my grandfather does” we’re somehow escaping personal responsibility for what’s really at play. The conversation is inevitably preempted by faux courtesy to make it feel better, like “Well, it is time to have this conversation.”

Uh, no, it isn’t.

“Once a society begins to legislate death, human life becomes less valuable. It is like arithmetic. It just happens. It is inevitable. The German government’s embrace of euthanasia before the Holocaust was no accident.” [Dr. Keith Ablow]

That’s the convenient thing about indoctrinating young minds. They still think their old-years are too far away for concern or they won’t be ailing when they get old or they won’t want to live after they do get old. Surprise. That isn’t true either. And just who gets to say when “old” is? Can it be so simply defined as the moment some stranger determines another stranger’s usefulness has ceased?

Jack Kevorkian was a pathologist in Michigan, commonly known as “Dr. Death” for his assisted suicides. That was back when taking someone’s life – even when they wanted their life taken – was deemed murder. You know, way back in 2009 and in Michigan, one of our most Liberal states. Kevorkian claimed 130-assisted suicides beginning in 1990. Five times he defended himself in courts of law against very public murder charges, by a government just as determined then to tell us what was “right” as they are now in nudging us toward the very opposite. In 1999 Kevorkian was sentenced and imprisoned, released in ill health in 2009 on a promise he wouldn’t assist in any more murders. That was four years ago. Four years. He didn’t die until 2011 at age 83, all the while fighting for his last natural breath regardless of prolonged illness and his own “burden” on society.

“Who does not wish to be beautiful, and clever, and rich, and to have back, in old age, the time spent trying to be any of them.” [Robert Brault]

If I were a Michigan taxpayer I’d be suing for refund of prosecuting those five, very lengthy and costly court cases, as well as what was spent jailing, feeding and medicating Dr. Death for eight-years.

So let me make sure I have this right: Somewhere between this president taking office and now it’s become okay to have this conversation. All of the sudden this is The Conversation to have. And you don’t think you’ve been indoctrinated? (That’s just another word for brainwashed.) What a mockery of fools we make of ourselves. Or is that your definition of rampant “progress?” If so, sadder yet, serving only as glaring evidence of souls waxed cold.

Let us at least understand today’s conversation. This conversation is okay now because now it’s poised as some easy fix for your social security? After eons of honoring our elderly, in 2013 it’s just too expensive to do that any more because a bunch of politicians have run out of tax money to spend? And let’s be serious here, that is the real issue.

How much better to sell it as our vulnerable elderly living too long, costing too much and being too inconvenient because they do live so damned long. They’ve served their usefulness in paying for all they’ve handed down to us, not the least of which was being human guinea pigs for the medical technologies we do so enjoy. It’s time to get rid of them. Feed the tax monster so we don’t have to pay so much for ourselves. Fat chance. That monster isn’t going anywhere if you don’t vote it out.

Americans are allowing self-endowed intellectuals to convince us that we’ve ‘progressed’ so much it’s time to equate value of life to money. That kind of progress will be the end of you and you won’t be wise enough to see it coming because you will have killed-off all of the wisdoms left among you.

Obama Czar Cass Sunstein argues, “people are subject to all sorts of biases and quirks. [He] also argues that this human quality, which some would call irrationality, can be predicted and — this is the controversial part — that if the social environment can be changed, people might be nudged into more rational behavior.“ New York Times, 2010.

Only three-years ago even the Liberal New York Times hesitated, calling this conversation “controversial.” But today they’ve so widely nudged this conversation ‘forward’ even Conservatives are indulging it – out in the open. What’s wrong with us? Are we all kool-aid drinkers?

Let’s assume for a moment that money is a worthy argument. Do you really believe You are going to reap the rewards of any money saved? Do you think for one moment that whatever could be saved would actually run down to your pocketbook or social security account?

Are insurance companies going to do something they’ve never done and lower premiums and copays or will medical providers lower theirs or, even if both did, is government not going to eat up any excess? Do you really think those who’ve paid all of the prices you’re reaping benefit of now are expendable because they don’t keep paying beyond their own paying years – when it’s Your turn? And just what legacy do you plan leaving your children, then? Someone has to leave one if your children are to have any. Common sense alone tells us this sort of short-sighted vanity, in and of itself, spells social disaster.

In a few short years this country has gone from doggedly prosecuting and reprosecuting, convicting and imprisoning those who take lives of the willing to die, to a people of “having the conversation” about taking innocent lives of those who are not willing to die. We already take the lives of newborns. What are we, barbarians? These atrocities are invariably couched so you don’t need to feel any personal responsibility, you’re not really making the decision, right? You’re just ‘having the conversations’ that nudge the consequences ‘forward.’ Uh-huh.

Carl Jung is renowned for his collective thinking, an un-American principle to which I do not adhere. But given the masses who’re rushing to embrace extinction of their elderly on some fraudulent “collective” basis it’s worth reflecting on Jung for just a moment. Carl Jung is said to have spoken of a “Boon Quest,” one’s journey into the realm of unknowns, the boon being fulfilled when we return to share its lessons with others. Chances are he wasn’t referring to 25-year olds. Life is a journey. All the years of life are, not just the first 33, 44 or 55.

“A human being would certainly not grow to be seventy or eighty years old if this longevity had no meaning for the species. The afternoon of human life must also have a significance of its own and cannot be merely a pitiful appendage to life’s morning … .”

“Whoever carries over into the afternoon the law of the morning, or the natural aim, must pay for it with damage to his soul, just as surely as a growing youth who tries to carry over his childish egoism into adult life must pay for this mistake with social failure.“ [Carl Jung]

The value of our elders is not found in money. Nor is it found in some misnomer of “entitlements” for which they’ve paid handsomely and only now stand to benefit – or in what they do or don’t produce during their later years – any more than boon wisdoms can be found in twenty-five year olds. Our elderly years are those of introspection that youth has not had the time, experience or patience to afford and which season a more peaceful and compassionate view of the world than youth are wired to see.

Our families’ elders are the foundations and groundings of our own personal selves. They are our connections to who we have been, who we will be, and what works and what does not in living who we are. Elders tether us among families, to our pasts, in our futures, and among our ethnicities, the losses of which cannot be measured or replaced; and an imbalance of which leads to the worst kind of species extinction. Who among us is qualified to say who becomes extinct, least of all a government propagandizing to sustain and enhance its own wealth? We revere the extinction of animal species more highly than this. What IS wrong with us?

When you no longer have the wise among you, as a society you are doomed to be more vulnerable. The strongest links in your life chain are removed. That’s where an all-consuming government wants you, as should be crystal clear by the mere nudging of these conversations. A government that has, in a few very short years, indoctrinated the belief that everything will be better for you if only you will agree to kill-off your elderly.

You will be the next links of chain taken, whatever that justification may be, make no mistake about it. And it’ll be okay. After all, it’s just a conversation about betterment of the collective good.

From The Gift of Wise Counsel: Wise counsel will come from individuals who know the difference between …

  • what is ultimately good and what is just currently popular,
  • what is really valuable and what is just cheap,
  • a smart investment and just a quick profit,
  • what is earned and what is only borrowed,
  • what is achieved by hard work and what is just lucky,
  • being happy and just having fun,
  • what is beautiful and what just looks attractive,
  • what is ultimately right and what may just be legal,
  • what is really a generous gift and what is a selfish token,
  • a sincere apology and a weak excuse,
  • what is true and what is just a matter of opinion,
  • what is to be hard sought and what is to be tolerated,
  • when help is appropriate and when it should be withheld to encourage one to struggle,
  • love and lust,
  • what is really dangerous and what may just be somewhat risky,
  • what is worth fighting against and what one should run from,
  • what is a legitimate source of hope and what is a technique of mass marketing,
  • a real miracle and a magic trick,
  • what is wise and what is foolish,
  • what is a divine blessing and what is a demonic temptation,
  • what can last forever and what is only temporary,
  • humble worship that glorifies God and pride-filled religious rituals that offend God,
  • what is from God and what is from the world.
