It is an exciting time here at the Conservative Daily News. We are growing rapidly and planning on reaching ever greater heights as we get into the 2012 Presidential Election season. For example, we recently completed a major upgrade to our Information Technology infrastructure to allow us to better serve you, our readers. Our new server platform is highly scalable and we are energized by the fact that this upgrade was necessary – it is proof that we are making a difference and serving our role as opinion leaders within the conservative movement.

We have a talented and energized editorial staff that has a great deal of experience in traditional print journalism, new media, graphics, opinion writing, political advocacy, and emerging web technologies. This diverse set of skills and talents allows us here at the Conservative Daily News to engage you with both a wide range of topics and in-depth reporting on the news of the day. Feel free to contact us if you wish to join our team. We are always looking for conservatives who are looking to defend liberty, make a positive difference in our country, and to take on the vast “left-wing” conspiracy. Man – it really felt good to say that!

Coming off of a great victory in the midterm elections, conservatives throughout America are newly energized and chomping at the bit for a chance to do it again. The Conservative Daily News is committed to making the 2012 election one for the history books. As Senator Marco Rubio recently said about the 2010 midterm elections: “We got one-half of one-third of the government. It was a first step.” The 2012 elections are going to be historic. We have the opportunity of solidifying our gains in the House of Representatives. We lost a number of close races that could have been victories for the conservatives if only our candidates had better funding and more professional campaign advisors. I fully expect that shortcoming to be addressed this time around. We also have a golden opportunity to reshape the United States Senate – ridding ourselves of communists, socialists, progressives, and liberals that infest both major political parties. Our time is now. And of course we eagerly wait the day the entire country has been praying for these past two years – the chance to send Barack Hussein Obama packing back to Chicago on the horse he rode in on. Now that’s change we all can believe in! We rid our government of Obama and we also, by default, rid ourselves of Ken Salazar, Cass Sunstein, Janet Napolitano, Timothy Geitner and a host of other community organizers and rebels with a cause. Given the fact that we have the momentum, politically, right now the chance of that happening is more likely than not.

It is up to each of us to keep that momentum going. And that is what we at the Conservative Daily News are committed to doing. We will do our part to cleanse this nation of the stain that currently discolors our government. We will shine the light of truth on the progressive element of society that threatens to take away our liberties, blatantly disregards the rule of law, and dishonors and puts to shame our national name. We are proud Americans and we have a motto – Don’t Tread on Me!

I encourage you to join with us here at the Conservative Daily News as we stand up to the secret combination that seeks to enslave us. What was that quote from the movie Independence Day? Oh yeah, this:

Mankind, that word should have new meaning to all of us. We cannot be consumed by our petty differences anymore. Perhaps it is fate that today is the fourth of July, and we will once again be fighting for our freedom. But not for freedom from tyranny or oppression or persecution. We’re fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world stood up and declared in one voice that we will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

Truer words were never spoken. November 8, 2012 is our new Independence Day. Let’s all come together for the battle. We’ve got a lot of work to do.

Obama, Pelosi and a number of extreme-left pundits have spent the last several days trying to convince American voters that they voted for for the wrong reasons and that they probably didn’t even understand why they were voting. Obama has said many times that he believes that progressives just failed to get a message out that voters could understand, Pelosi thinks they lost because they didn’t accomplish enough of their far left-wing agenda, and Sen. Harry Reid is claiming the vote was a re-asking of Rodney King’s famous question, “can’t we all just get along”.

Fox News reported that our Commander-in-chief had a different perspective on why liberals faired so poorly in the mid-term elections:

Obama on Wednesday directly attributed GOP gains to frustration over the economy, declining to sign on to claims that it was a referendum on his decisions.

Americans are certainly upset by the failing economy and it’s obvious that the Obama-Pelosi agenda has not yielded the results that Obama himself had expected. Seriously though, voters weren’t simply voting on today’s economy – they voted on the failed economy that Obama’s policies were all but guaranteeing. The President seems to be struggling with the thought that his overbearing handling of American policy is unpopular:

Obama’s opposition to keeping taxes where they are instead of raising them

The ramming-through of a back-room hashed-out health-care reform law, his preference to raise taxes on small business owners and successful families

His attempt to lump the blame of the financial crisis totally on Wall Street when Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the liberal push to put everyone in a house were key causes might be unpopular – if not dangerous – to Americans

Checking in with the outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, she espoused that liberals lost the election because they weren’t able to accomplish more of the far-left agenda.

From: The Daily Caller

“Let’s understand the message,” Pelosi told ABC’s Diane Sawyer. “The message was not, ‘I reject the course that you are on.’ The message is it didn’t go fast enough to produce jobs.”

..

“As to the agenda that we’ve put forth, progress wasn’t fast enough. And that’s really what the challenge is,” she said.

Are they right? Did Americans dump Democrats because they hand’t gone far enough left? Or was this was an attempt to stop an alarming leftist agenda in its tracks. Splitting Congress is by-far the single-best way to cease Congressional action. Americans seem to have felt that Pelosi and Obama had moved far too fast and in the wrong direction.

Even Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) owned up to the real issues that concerned Americans – when the citizens spoke up, instead of re-thinking their terrible policies, Democrats “doubled-down”

How far out-of-touch are the Democrats? A recent Rasmussen poll shows that Americans have not changed their mind on the progressive-left’s plan to get some car out or that now-infamous ditch. Almost 60% believe that increased federal spending will do increasing damage to the country. Only less than 25% think that Obama and Pelosi’s spend more to save more hypocrisy has any chance to improve the national fiscal situation.

Voters continue to believe that raising taxes and increasing government spending will dig our economy deeper in a hole, and they don’t see things getting any better under the Obama administration.

While actual Americans are visibly upset over the left-wing extremist agenda, Congressional Democrats don’t seem to get it. Now it appears that the now more-extreme left Democrats intend to keep the orchestrator of their House losses as the leader of their party in the lower chamber. All signals point to Nancy Pelosi as the next minority leader of House Democrats. Even though many in Pelosi’s own party don’t think she’s the right person to lift them up for 2012:

Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (D-N.Y.) compared the situation to that of a sports team that has had a bad season. “When you suffer a defeat as big as we have, you have to change something. And often you have to change the person who led you in that direction,” he said.

Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) said Friday, before Pelosi’s announcement, “My perception of what the minority leader does is communications, and I don’t think that’s her skill set.” Yarmuth, a liberal who calls himself “a big fan” of Pelosi’s, later announced that he would support her for minority leader.

And who could leave out Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Reid stated that the election results prove that Americans want more bi-partisanship.

“I think the main message that we should have received last night … is that the people of Nevada and the American people want us to work together,” he said.

Of course he’s always been a fan of cross-party co-operation .. right?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he’ll ditch bipartisanship in the Senate if it means getting a health care reform bill.

The tin-ear responses from the top posts in the Democrat party are indicative of the entire progressive movement, but not all Democrats. After Democrat candidate Alex Sink lost her bid to become the Governor of Florida, she said what many on both sides of the aisle are now thinking:

Sink calls the White House “tone-deaf” in an interview published Saturday on Politico, saying Obama’s aides weren’t interested in hearing her concerns..

Maybe Ms. Sink understands American voters much better than our White House and Congressional leaders – and ex-leaders.

Rasmussen published a “State of the Day” that was somewhat disturbing: 46% expected noticeable change if Republicans took control of both houses while 33% did not. Now that Republicans have only taken control of one house of Congress, are people less-likely to expect any noticeable results? If they don’t they only have themselves to blame.

If we stop sending the letters, emails, making the phone calls, writing in blogs and commenting on articles that criticize or praise our newly-elected officials, they will forget this election in short-order. If we instead remind them at every opportunity that we brought them into that office and we can surely take them back out, they will be more motivated to accomplish what they promised.

The votes that were cast in this mid-term will make this much easier. State Houses all over the nation flipped from Democrat to Republican precisely at the time when Congressional districts will be re-drawn in response to the 2010 census. That means that districts that have long been drawn to favor Democrats will be more-fairly apportioned so that voters can select their candidates instead of the opposite.

Secondarily, we have the nation-wide Conservative take-over of Governor’s mansions. As the Christian Science Monitor reported, the executive branch of each state can also have an effect on the 2012 election.

A change in governors can have import beyond the individual states, political observers point out. Many governors will have a say in the redistricting of congressional seats in their states – a process that takes place after the 2010 Census. In addition, in 2012, a popular and active governor can be a big asset in a presidential campaign, particularly in a swing state. And already, commentators are talking about some new governors possibly becoming presidential candidates.

Not only did House seats change hands, but leadership and seniority have been totally scrambled a bit. The majority party controls the chair of each of the House committees, so many new power positions will go to Republicans. In many cases, the previously-selected senior Republican on each committee will get a promotion. The now minority Democrats will be downgraded to just being senior Democrat members on each committee, obviously less-powerful than the committee chairman. Some notable exceptions are the previous Democrat chairpersons that are no longer members of Congress:

Ike Skelton (D-MI) is now the outgoing chairman of the powerful House Armed Services Committee after having lost to Vicky Hartzler (R-MI)

John Spratt (D-SC) lost to Mick Mulvaney(R) and will leave the House Budget Committee headless

Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) will be leaving an open chair on the Senate Agriculture Committee which will be given to another Democrat as Republicans did not get a majority in the Senate

A non-election consideration is how the Census numbers will re-apportion House seats to the states. The number of House districts and seats is determined by the population of each state. Progressive states such as Michigan and California have experienced net emigration due to failed economic policy and climates unfriendly to businesses. That means more House seats for the Conservative states that have experienced net immigration due to opposite political and economic climates.

Consider all of these things together and there is a real opportunity to affect real change. Certainly Republicans could rest on the haunches and blame gridlock for any lack of progress, but a more productive tact would be to remind the Democrat Senators that many of them remained untouched in the 2010 election only because their seat comes up in 24 months. They could be seen as obstructionists against the wishes of the American electorate. This puts a different spin on the “party of no” label. Where Republicans were trying to stop unpopular policies, Democrats would be seen protecting those same unpopular policies with obstructionist tactics.

The message must be clear. Our leaders must extend, if not make permanent, the Bush tax cuts. They must de-fund, if not replace Obamacare with a common-sense, affordable reform of the American health care system. They must address entitlement spending. If Democrats want to stand in the way of a well-purposed train, I can see 2012 from here.

With Lisa Murkowski, a known brand in the Senate with a demonstrated ability to work across the aisle

She’s actually bragging about being a RINO. Is she? Could some off her votes be questionable when measured against Conservative principles? Well, at a glance, she didn’t vote with Republicans on one out-of-four votes. Digging into the individual issues she voted on, here’s what I found:

Just since September 13th of this year she has failed to vote 13 times. There were only 17 possible votes, so she failed to service Alaska as their Senator 75% of the time in the last two months!! Some of those votes would have benefited from her participation. In every case, she would have been one more vote for the Conservatives in Congress and stood against the fiscally irresponsible Democrats. Instead she avoided the conflict and gave a silent nod to the progressive agenda. Here’s a sampling from The Washington Post (emphasized notes are mine):

Vote 245: H R 3081: Thune Amdt. No. 4676; To reduce spending other than national security spending by 5 percent. – She didn’t vote – same as voting Democrat on this issue

Vote 238: On the Cloture Motion: Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to S. 3454; National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011 – She Didn’t Vote – same as voting Democrat on this issue

Vote 231: To repeal the expansion of information reporting requirements for payments of $600 or more – This clause in Obamacare is a small business and jobs killer. Repealing it would relieve small businesses like the fisherman in Alaska, from having to report every purchase or sale over $600 as an individual item. This is also a step towards repealing the whole of the government take over of health care – She Didn’t Vote – same as voting Democrat on this issue.

Vote 230: On the Nomination: Confirmation Jane Branstetter Stranch, of Tennessee, to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Sixth Circuit. While the sixth circuit does not include Alaska, we have all seen how important U.S. Court of Appeals judges can be (Arizona immigration law, defense of marriage, right to bear arms, etc). Any Conservative should jump at the chance to ensure that good constitutional constructionist judges are put on benches whenever they can – She Didn’t Vote – same as voting Democrat on this nomination

This is just in the past six weeks. Imagine the damage she’s done to the Country over her entire career in Congress as a true RINO. She may well have voted “present” more times than Obama if the option were made available, instead, she just didn’t vote at all. As if to put an exclamation point on her RINO-voting tendencies, the American Conservative Union gave her voting record a 68% in 2009 – far worse than even the accomplished RINO John McCain. To prove the point, when asked who she would caucus with, Murkowski alarmingly responded that she would Caucus with just about everyone including “Greens” and “Democrats”. When pressed by CNN she told them this:

She skirted the issue when asked what party she would caucus with in the new Congress and said she would be returning to represent “Alaskans interest,” instead of the Republican Party’s.

So she won’t be caucusing with the Republicans? Guess that’ll show those Republican Alaskans that voted her out in the primaries .. or something.

So what was Lisa Murkowski doing while being paid by U.S. taxpayers?

Lost her re-election bid during the Republican primary – whined, cried, jumped up-and-down about it then started her attempt to steal the seat back with a write-in campaign

Sent out dishonest and untruthful mailers

Attacked Sarah Palin

Used her Senate position to enrich herself at taxpayer’s expense

Lisa is asking Alaka’s voters to re-elect her based on her record. Well, here’s her real record, hopefully Alaskans are paying attention.

In a video release on Friday, Morgan Freeman allegedly* narrated a truthful expose on Price’s record. Price has done little other than run very negative attack ads against B.J. Lawson. What choice does Rep. Price have? His record is terrible and there is no way he can run on that.

The ad has since been pulled from Lawson’s website and the candidate apologized to Freeman for the confusion and said that they had been duped by a Los Angeles political consulting firm.

Later, Lawson’s campaign said the political firm M.E.I. Political of Los Angeles was responsible. The company did not return a call seeking comment Monday.

Wilmington, DE– Former Republican Governor of Delaware Pete Du Pont has officially endorsed Christine O’Donnell, the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate.

“It is my belief that Christine O’Donnell will represent the First State honorably in the United States Senate.

“As you know, she will be seated immediately following the November 2nd election making her votes all that more important to the citizens of our state.

“It is my hope that you will support Christine, as I am, and help her campaign move forward to victory.”

“Pete Du Pont was one of the greatest governors in the history of Delaware,” O’Donnell said. “I am extraordinarily honored to receive Governor Du Pont’s endorsement and aspire to live up to his standard of leadership and integrity while representing Delaware in the U.S. Congress and as governor of the First State.

“He proved the power of lowering taxes and shrinking government to bring about economic recovery to Delaware, and now he is fighting for Delaware to send that same common sense to Washington.”

Oregon has a real nut-job running in this election – Representative Peter DeFazio. In a Huffington Post article, he expressed his anger with the Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court.

“I mean, the Supreme Court has done a tremendous disservice to the United States of America,” Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. “They have done more to undermine our democracy with theirCitizens United decision than all of the Republican operatives in the world in this campaign. They’ve opened the floodgates, and personally, I’m investigating articles of impeachment against Justice Roberts..

Ah, yes .. impeach a Supreme Court Justice – a CONSERVATIVE justice. Apparently, he’s now being assaulted by negative ads from those big meanie Conservative groups and he just can’t handle the pressure.

DeFazio’s race in Oregon’s fourth congressional district has been thrust into the national spotlight because of the involvement by the Concerned Taxpayers of America..

Defazio’s feelings are getting stepped on and he’s using the tried and abused liberal tactic of jumping up-and-down, crying, whining and throwing a tantrum. Folks in Oregon’s district 4 must be proud.

Sure, Peter “Nut-Job” DeFazio is upset because the Citizens United case went against the liberal elite. That law let Unions spend like drunk sailors in elections but limited other large organizations. All progressive extremists like DeFazio are upset about that, but that’s not the goal. DeFazio is trying to unseat the swing vote on the Supreme Court while a Democrat President is in the White House and progressives still have majorities in the House and Senate – they want to steal the Supreme Court while they still can.

This isn’t the only “crazy” that Defazio is pushing. According to Votesmart.org his voting record shows that he:

Voted to allow Federal funding of abortion

Voted YES on Obama’s government take over of health care (Obamacare)

Voted YES on stimulus legislation

Voted to keep partial birth and late term abortions legal

Voted YES on government take over of College Student Loans

Voted to extend unemployment benefits

Voted to cut funding off from our troops while they are in combat

Voted for Cash for Clunkers

Voted for GM and Chrysler bailouts

Voted against small businesses

Voted for FDA regulation of Tobacco

Voted YES on Marijuana

Voted NO on at least 3 amendments that would have limited the mortgage loan crisis

Voted to Repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell while voting NO on same-sex marriage and Domestic partners legislation (hypocrisy?)

In responding to the Latinos for Reform “Don’t Vote” ad campaign, President Obama said, “It is a cynical political ploy…” In reality, it is cynical that the President — then Candidate Obama — promised comprehensive immigration reform to 12 million vulnerable people within one year and, not only failed to act on that promise, he responded by increasing deportations.

Today, Latinos for Reform released its second ad. We are urging Latinos to be counted by casting their votes for Governor, Mayor, school board, etc. — but not for candidates who ignore you once they get to Washington — on Election Day. We hope that this clears up any confusion and allows candidates, the media and the Latino electorate to focus on the important issue of comprehensive immigration reform. (www.LatinosForReform.com)

According to LFR President Robert Deposada, “It is ironic that Harry Reid responded to the ads by asking, ‘Can you really think of anything less patriotic or more offensive than telling people not to vote?’ Reid and his people then pressured Univision — which has a virtual monopoly on Spanish language media in the U.S. — to pull the ad.”

Deposada continues, “Instead of defending his record, Harry Reid used his political influence to censor the political debate. It is sad that the political establishment is, once again, treating Latinos like we should just sit down and keep our mouths shut — until it is time for us to obediently and blindly vote for them.

“Let’s not forget that, for two years, Harry Reid has done nothing but sabotage even the smallest reform efforts. His excuse about immigration reform needing to be bipartisan is in sharp contrast with his unilateral approach on all of the other issues that were his real priorities.

“As a Latino, voting for Harry Reid or Sharron Angle is like choosing between getting stabbed in the back or getting clubbed in the head. We are asking Latinos to choose ‘None of the above.’ A vote for any of these two candidates is equal to or worse than not voting at all. The act of abstaining in this specific legislative contest is itself a vote.”

Wilmington, DE – Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell today responded to New Castle County Executive Chris Coons saying that he could not stay focused while listening to a brief account of the hardships facing Delaware families during a debate at WHYY today.

“If my opponent cannot pay attention to Delaware while executive of New Castle County, how can we trust that he will pay attention to Delaware as a U.S. senator?” O’Donnell said. “Delawareans need a person in office who will listen to the people about their economic issues and address them, not an elitist who dismisses them because he simply doesn’t care.”

O’Donnell had just finished speaking about meeting with a Delawarean who had a terminally ill grandfather who was literally praying that he would die before Jan. 1 so that his children and grandchildren wouldn’t have to sell the family business or have their home go into foreclosure to pay the 55 percent death tax.

Coons then again showed contempt for the needs of Delaware voters by chuckling and saying: “I’m sorry, I was having difficulty focusing.”

Furthermore, Coons has said that he has never heard from anyone in Delaware that their taxes are too high.

As quoted in the Politico: “What the average Delawarean wants is, spend my money well. Cut first, then if you’ve got to raise a little bit, OK. But I do not ever hear people complain that our tax burden is too high.”

Latinos for Reform today announced a national campaign to get Latino voters to .. not vote.

Latinos for Reform announced today the launch of a national ad campaign in targeted states urging Latino voters not to vote for Members of Congress that have failed to deliver on their immigration reform promises. The ads, in both English and Spanish, are available at www.LatinosForReform.com.

The 2010 election boycott is in response to the failure of the Democrat Congress and President to give them the immigration reform they were promised.

During the 2008 elections, President Obama and the Democratic leadership made a commitment that immigration reform would be passed within a year. Two years later, these lawmakers have not only failed to deliver on this promise; they intentionally undermined even the smallest of reform efforts .. This November we can send a message to all politicians: If they didn’t keep their promise on immigration reform, then they can’t count on our vote.”

Latino voters make up a huge portion of the Democrat voting block. If this campaign is successful, it could even further increase the size of the Republican tsunami as some have labelled it. This call could have serious implications on highly-publicized elections such as the Reid-Angle Arizona Senate race and the Whitman-Brown California governors race. Both campaigns will be hugely impacted by the Latino vote (or lack thereof).

Latinos for Reform tries to make the case that their anger is against both parties, but this ad campaign will most hurt Democrats. We often hurt the ones we love.

Meghan McCain has managed to publish a book no one cares about, flatter only herself at every opportunity and now stick her self-aggrandizing, snobbish nose up at a Republican Senate candidate.

I don’t know how trashing a Conservative candidate does anyone any good, but Meghan took a shot at Christine O’Donnell on Sunday as CNN Political Ticker reported:

“I just know, in my group of friends, it turns people off because she’s seen as a nut job,” McCain said on ABC’s “This Week” program. “It scares me for a lot of reasons.”

The daughter of Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain said O’Donnell’s candidacy sends a message to the younger generation that you can just “wake up and run for Senate,” regardless of past experience.

Why can’t an ordinary person just wake up and run for Senate? That’s the whole point of the Tea Party movement.

The leftist media has made a hay day out of O’Donnell’s interview with Bill Maher. Why is any of that important? Is anyone actually worried that Christine will start a Coven in the basement of the Capitol building?

For Ms. McCain to cast stone at O’Donnell, she should first look inward. Meghan is a collection of gaffes wrapped inside of a terrible character and loved by only Meghan.

Of course, she never had any mis-steps in her past .. other than this picture she posted on twitter.

Of course there was also her attack on Bristol Palin where Meghan tried to say that looking like a stripper was fine with her compared to a young pregnant mother.

“When you’re sent to an image consultant and said that you look like a stripper and talk bad and you’re hurting the campaign when, you know, there’s a pregnant teen there, it does a little bit to your self-esteem.”

Way to go on the attack lingerie-girl.

Her motives are clear. She is trying to keep the Republican party in the center. A move that would fit her father’s political tastes. The majority of Americans are tired of big tent B.S. and are trying to make the right, more right. These constant attacks on true Conservatives just help us understand that Meghan McCain is just as much a moderate as her father and in no way is she good for the Conservative movement.
