Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) has passed the House of Representatives bolstering President Obama’s push to make a landmark trade deal a lasting legacy for his troubled presidency.
The measure passed on a close 218-208 vote with moderate Democrats and Republicans coming together to push it through.
The bill grants Obama so-called “fast-track” authority which allows him to negotiate trade agreements. It forces congress into a simply yes or no vote on the President’s agreed-to trade deal without members having the ability to offer amendments.
The major concern has been over upcoming trade negotiations on the Trans-Pacific-Partnership and Trade in Services Agreements which are being kept secret and only through Wikileaks leaked portions have we seen that a large portion of both have nothing to do with trade.
The vote in the Senate is a foregone conclusion and the President will be free to accept trade agreements without oversight or cooperation from the representatives of the people.
Admiral William Gortney signed the order to increase all U.S. Military bases in North America to Force Protection Bravo on Thursday night.
A spokesman for the U.S. Northern Command told reporters that the command is “doing this as a prudent measure due to a lot of things in the news lately.” The spokesman explained that no specific threat has caused the increased security measures but, “recent events have led us to recognize the need to take prudent steps to ensure that our security measures can be increased quickly.”

Livestreams show that other cities are joining the Baltimore riots in protest.

Reports say that word began spreading to demonstrators on Facebook to show up at 6 p.m. near 35th and Michigan Avenues for what they’re calling “emergency action in solidarity with Baltimore.”
Another report says:
A crowd several hundred people protesting police brutality marched around Chicago’s South Side Tuesday night, a show of strength and solidarity with protesters in Baltimore.
The crowd was only about 100 when it began Tuesday afternoon, but it swelled as it streamed from police headquarters at 35th Street and Michigan Avenue into Hyde Park.
We’ll have more links and video feeds as they come on line. #baltimoreriots
Today, Judicial Watch reported that it had confirmed that ISIS has a training camp just on the other side of the border from El Paso, TX:
ISIS is operating a camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas, according to Judicial Watch sources that include a Mexican Army field grade officer and a Mexican Federal Police Inspector.
While the news is important, it’s not new. Here’s a Fox News report from September, 2014 that seems to mention the same thing (information starts at 2:44).
Some are downplaying the reports today as old news – but it’s not the reporting of the camp that is key – it’s the fact that Judicial Watch found independent confirmation of the camp’s existence.
The report does vaguely detail a joint U.S. – Mexico operation on the camp:
During the course of a joint operation last week, Mexican Army and federal law enforcement officials discovered documents in Arabic and Urdu, as well as “plans” of Fort Bliss – the sprawling military installation that houses the US Army’s 1st Armored Division. Muslim prayer rugs were recovered with the documents during the operation.
The finding of items, but no talk of anyone being detained would seem to leave only two possibilities: either the ISIS folks were gone when the operation hit, or they’ve been dealt with in-secret by the governments of the United States and Mexico.
Rendition, catch-and-release or a missed opportunity?
Judicial Watch has also noted that the FBI put together some meetings to try and deal with the leak that broke the ISIS camp story. Some key folks seem to be missing:
A high-level intelligence source, who must remain anonymous for safety reasons, confirmed that the meeting was convened specifically to address a press strategy to deny Judicial Watch’s accurate reporting and identify who is providing information to JW. FBI supervisory personnel met with Mexican Army officers and Mexican Federal Police officials, according to JW’s intelligence source. The FBI liaison officers regularly assigned to Mexico were not present at the meeting and conspicuously absent were representatives from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). It’s not clear why DHS did not participate.
Parents of students at a Northern California high school are fuming over the content and presenters of the sex education class offered.
It is being reported that students at Acalanes High School were treated to messaging on sex presented not by their teachers – or any teachers from the school – but by the staff of a nearby Planned Parenthood – the leader in the abortion industry.
Along with local area groups, some parents are irate that their children’s sex ed class at Acalanes High School in Lafayette is being taught by employees of Planned Parenthood without their prior knowledge. They are also fuming over the methods and materials being used, including a checklist that asks students if they are “ready for sex” and another worksheet that describes how to give and obtain consent, as well as a diagram that uses a “genderbread” person for lessons in gender identity.
The idea that their children are being taught “responsible” sexual practices by an organization that generates significant revenue from performing abortions on promiscuous teens is angrying parents.
Acalanes Union School District officials told the institute the class was not taught by teachers but rather the staff from a local Planned Parenthood in nearby Walnut Creek.
The New York Daily News is reporting that a black militant group is planning to shoot New York police officers.
An undercover NYPD cop learned of the hit put out on officers Friday evening — three days after a Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo in Garner’s death. Mullins confirmed late Saturday night that the gang was gunning for officers.
Union leaders ordered all officers, on duty and off, to take extra precautions.
“Please WEAR your VESTS and carry your firearm off-duty along with additional magazines,” Mullins said in an alert. “Your priority is to go home at the end of your tour!”
It is unclear whether the threat is tied directly to the Garner verdict or due to rising hostility in the black community towards police.
During the Ferguson protests, Michael Brown’s step-father ratcheted up tensions when he told the crowd to “burn this bitch down!” Shortly afterward, several local businesses were looted and/or burned down.
The Black Guerrilla Family is a militant prison and street gang also known as Black Family and Black Vanguard. The group is an “ideological African-American Marxist revolutionary organization composed of prisoners.” Which would indicate a propensity towards crime and violence.

Challenger Rep. Bill Cassidy(R) ousted Landrieu by a 56% to 44% vote margin in a run-off election.
Landrieu had trailed Cassidy significantly in recent polls and the Democrat campaigning machine had largely abandoned her despite her 34 year tenure as Senator.
Landrieu had been touting her seniority in the Senate as a benefit to the state of Louisiana. She had managed to get a floor vote on the Keystone XL pipeline but was unable to muster the one additional democrat vote needed to get it passed.
The democrat loss in Louisiana finishes a long string of losses for liberals in the senate during the 2014 mid-term elections.
While Obama and his loyal media tell America that the recovery is in full-swing, the rest of the nation is about to suffer another blow as the president’s energy policy causes catastrophic changes to the electricity generation industry.
According to a Fox News report:
The energy industry and coal-producing states are projecting a wave of power plant closures in the final two years of the Obama administration as Environmental Protection Agency regulations take hold.
The goal of the agency’s campaign is to cut down on carbon pollution. However, industry groups and agencies say the EPA’s demands are simply too difficult to meet and will lead to powering down many facilities — eliminating hundreds of jobs and hurting cash-strapped state economies.
In a continuing effort to pander to the whining left and live up to a pre-election promise, Obama is making sure that energy costs “necessarily skyrocket” as a way to magically make his failing green-energy investments pay off.
Solyndra was just a canary in the coal mine (how ironic that phrase is now.) The entire green energy play is too expensive for the typically American family to afford and company-after-company simply folds up after sucking in millions, or billions of taxpayer dollars.
Many Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck as energy prices affect grocery bills, transportation costs, heating bills and just about everything else.
The President wants to make energy more expensive – at whose cost?
Monday night, Ferguson, Missouri Prosecutor Bob McCulloch announced that the Grand Jury looking into the evidence of the Michael Brown shooting had found no probable cause to try Officer Wilson for any crime.
In a press conference beginning at approximately 8:14pm Central Time, Mr. McCulloch began by pledging his sympathy to the Brown family for their loss. McCulloch then painstakingly described the process that the grand jury undertook to come to its decision.
Revealing a flurry of competing witness accounts, changing witness testimony and witness accounts that simply did not line up with the physical evidence, the prosecutor outlined the evidence that was reviewed by the grand jury.
In response to the decision, the Brown family commented that they were “profoundly disappointed” with the outcome.
Despite the urging of the media present at the announcement, Mr. McCulloch refused to release the vote count or more detailed demographics of the grand jury saying that the process is secretive by design and that he was not privy to the vote count nor is the grand jury allowed to release the final count.
The prosecutor also confirmed that testimony and evidence will be released to the public for their review.
The grand jury could have chosen to indict Officer Wilson on any of five counts ranging from murder in the first degree to manslaughter. The jurors found no evidence pointing to criminal behavior by the officer.
Republicans are pointing at scandal after scandal and many unconstitutional actions on the part of President Obama as reasons he could be impeached. But, they won’t, and some have come out and said that Vice President Biden is the insurance policy keeping Obama in the White House that keeps them at bay.
It would appear that any candidate for President that intends to work outside the limits of the Constitution should first find an inept, but electable, court jester.. ahem.. Vice President. Then, make sure he does things like tell the public to shoot double-barreled shotguns through doors, say that Conservatives behave like terrorists, and so much more.
For the first time, America may have its answer to the obvious question:
Q: why hasn’t Obama been impeached?
A: “Have you met Joe Biden?”
A NASA Antares rocket exploded shortly after lift-off Tuesday night. The rocket was carrying Orbital Sciences’ Cygnus spacecraft carrying supplies for the International Space Station. The spacecraft was unmanned and no personnel were hurt on the ground. The cause of the explosion is not yet know.

The Ebola virus in the United States seems far beyond the control of the Obama Administration’s Centers for Disease Control and so far, health care workers and the economy seem to be taking the punishment for it.
On NBC’s “Today Show” this morning, Texas Presbyterian Nurse Briana Aguirre told host Matt Lauer that she watched fellow healthcare workers “violate basic principles of nursing” and that the hospital had not provided any protocols on the handling of an Ebola patient. When they contacted the hospital’s infectious disease control office to ask what the protocols were, Briana said, they were told that “they didn’t know” and would have to get back to them.
Aguirre went on to say that the protective gear that they were given did not fully cover their exposed skin leaving their necks entirely vulnerable to splashes of bodily fluids.
For months Americans have been told by the President and his head of the CDC, Dr. Tom Frieden, that there were procedures in place and that the healthcare system and the CDC were ready to deal with Ebola cases – the public is struggling to believe them.
Just last week Dr. Frieden blamed nurses for failing to follow protocol. Listening to Nurse Aguirre’s interview this morning, it would appear as though protocols and equipment were neither in place nor trained upon.
Now, the CDC has instituted rapid response teams to fly out to hospitals where an Ebola case is suspected. With recent events, it may be too little, too late.
Two nurses have since been diagnosed with Ebola. Nina Pham and Amber Vinson. Both were exposed to Mr. Duncan, the Ebola patient at Texas Hospital that flew into the United States with the infection.
Nina was quarantined, but Amber was allowed by the CDC to fly on a commercial airliner after she contacted them to inform them that she had a fever – the first sign of an infection. The CDC is now frantically searching for all 132 people on that shared that flight with her.
Even the economy is not immune to this highly-infectious killer. While Europe’s debt issues and widespread deflation are one aspect, Ebola fears are helping to push the stock market into free-fall.
Since the CDC first confirmed the first U.S. case on September 30th, the DOW has lost about 900 points – over 5% of it’s value just.. gone. Today’s DOW futures show another 200+ point drop in the offering at open.
Airline stocks have been hammered despite rapidly dropping oil prices. Fuel is a huge input costs and a main driver of ticket prices. Investors expect a massive drop in people willing to fly due to the spread of the disease. The CDC allowing an Ebola-exposed nurse with a fever fly may just make that come true.
As Ebola fear escalates in the country, investors are concerned that people will avoid crowds like those at stores, malls, restaurants and tourist destinations. With the holiday shopping season just beginning to kick-up, the timing could be catastrophic for the American economy especially after the disappointing retail sales numbers from last month.
It appears that U.S. officials are taking a new terror group more seriously as a U.S.-led set of airstrikes hit ISIS and Khorasan Group targets in Syria this morning.
Khorasan is a jihadist group born of Al Queda leadership that has a similar, yet competing goal, as ISIS. The Khorasan Group desires the recreation of the ancient Persian province that once held the same name while ISIS is attempting to create a global Islamic state or Caliphate starting with the overthrow of Syria’s Asad and the government in Iraq.
Khorasan is headed by Muhsin al-Fadhli, who was the leader of Al Queda in Iran while it’s former head was detained by Iranian authorities.
Al-Fadhli moved to Syria after a re-shuffling of Al-Queda leadership where he has pulled together a group of Al-Queda members from across the globe – including Europe and the United States.
He was later joined by a group of Al Queda members including logistics expert Abd Al-Rahman Muhammad al Juhni. Al Juhni was a senior member of Al Queda in Pakistan and specialized in running the courier network and moving money around.
Fadhli seems disinterested in the outcome of the Syrian conflict and may only be based there to hide under the confusion of the Syrian civil war while he completes the planning phase for Khorasan – a phase intelligence experts say is very near completion.
The Khorasan plans are reported to be focused on attacks on U.S. and European soil. These attacks would most-likely be carried out by home grown terrorists recruited by Khorasan’s significant and effective social media efforts.
U.S. officials pointed at an imminent threat of terrorist attacks on the United States as partial justification for the airstrikes on Syria that began this morning. Whether Al Fadhli and his Khorasan Group associates have been nuetralized by today’s strikes is currently unknown.
