Poll: Clinton loses edge in North Carolina

A new poll shows that Hillary Clinton has lost the lead she once enjoyed in the critical battleground state.

A new Elon University poll shows that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied, continuing her decline in the Tarheel state.

Just one week prior, an NBC/WSJ/Marist poll showed Clinton up 6 points in North Carolina, but two polls since have shown her losing support.

Early voting results aren’t indicating a good turnout for the faltering democrat. Ballot returns for democrats are falling behind the pace set in the 2012 race when President Obama failed to take North Carolina.

The new Elon poll concluded before FBI Director James Comey announced that the investigation into Hillary’s email server was being reopened and therefore does not take the dire news into account.

Polls that span the renewed criminal investigation could show even further degradation of support for the struggling democrat.
