I have written many times about the importance of repentance and prayer to the future of our nation and 
will do so again, here and more times in the future, in the hope that people will respond accordingly and give God a reason to spare us of the judgment the nation deserves and is asking for. One of my favorite Bible verses is 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” I have included this verse in several previous articles, asking people who call themselves Christians to not only pray this verse but to live it also. Turning from our wicked ways is repenting of our sins. Repentance means to turn around and a total turnaround is what is needed, spiritually, physically, and practically. I don’t know how much longer God is going to tolerate the attitude of those running the government but I do know He will run out of patience, and likely very soon.
Only His love of us and His desire to see this nation that He was so instrumental in founding prosper has held His wrath back this long. Some people deny the faith of our founding fathers, some even going so far as to say the founders were not Christian men but that is either an outright lie or a case of ignorance being shown. Our founders, many of whom were ministers, were very devout Christians who sought God in every decision. Even the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution show reverence for God, 
much to the dismay and denial of the secular humanists and satanists who now rule over us as pagan “gods”. They deny God and set themselves up as their own “gods”, not being wise enough to realize that the one they worship has already been defeated and will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire with his minions, including the political ruling class elitists who now fancy themselves as our “overlords”.
Our founders, in the Declaration of Independence, referred to Divine Providence, which can only mean God, when they wrote ” And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” How does anyone read that and decide that the founders didn’t look to the God of the universe for wisdom and protection? They dedicated this nation to God and it prospered for over 200 years but now is declining because God has been told that His protection and wisdom are no longer needed nor wanted. I strive every day to live my life in a manner that brings glory and honor to God, and although I sometimes fail Him, God realizes those failures are from human weakness rather than outright rebellion to Him. The only chance we have to salvage the nation is to repent, pray, and seek the face of God. Some who read this will sneer, denigrate me, ridicule me, and call me a “bible thumper” but that won’t deter me because I am seeking God and pleading with everyone to do the same to restore the nation to what our founders established in the name of Almighty God, a representative republic dedicated to honoring the God who created all things, the all-powerful, all-merciful God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Homosexuality is an “abomination” before God, abortion is the murder of a child of God, islam and 
secular humanism are satan worship that can only end badly for those who either practice or accept them. I know that none of us, especially myself, can earn our way to Heaven nor earn God’s mercy and grace upon this nation. At the same time, I know we can reject that same mercy and grace by continuing on the path our nation is on. Too many people who claim to be Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, make the claim verbally yet denounce that claim in the way they live their daily life. Accepting abortion as a “woman’s right to choose”, accepting homosexuality as an “alternate yet equal lifestyle”, and accepting islam as a “religion of peace equal to Christianity”, is not the way to get any favor from the God they claim to worship. It doesn’t take a bible scholar to see the fallacy in accepting those 3 items as legitimate ways to honor and obey Almighty God. Abortion is the murder of a human life given by God, not the removal of “a blob of tissue” as secularists want us to believe. There are many couples who, being either childless and unable to conceive or having older children and willing to adopt a baby,
would be more than happy to accept and give a good home to an unwanted baby that came as a result of an unexpected pregnancy. There is no need to kill that precious child of God when there are people willing to take it and raise it as their own. Homosexuality is referenced in 1 Corinthians 6:9 where it says: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites… will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Timothy 1:10 also addresses this issue when it says, starting in verse 8, “But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, (9) knowing this: that the law is not made for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for the murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine”. These things aren’t my opinion, they are the Word of God taken verbatim from the Holy Bible, so don’t try some inane argument to discredit this because I have the best documentation for my thoughts anyone can find.
Some people like to pick and choose which verses they want to follow and which they ignore but God uses all of the Holy Bible, not just the parts that any of us might prefer. I suggest, and daily pray, that the people will turn back to God and help get this nation back to honoring God and being that “shining city on a hill” as described by John Winthrop so many years ago. Will you help me save our nation?
