The storm’s last reported position puts it in between Haiti and Cuba as both island nations are currently feeling the fury of a category 4 hurricane.

Matthew was expected to drop 3-4 feet of rain on Haiti along with a strong storm surge and 145 mph winds making it the strongest storm the island has seen in over 50 years. Forecasters were expecting the storm to be a “catastrophic event” for the impoverished island nation.
