A gunman carrying a rifle, handgun and possible suicide vest opened fire on party-goers at a “gay” nightclub in Orlando, Florida, killing at least 50 people, wounding dozens and taking several others hostage before being shot dead by a SWAT team. It is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the U.S.
Police originally said around 20 people were dead, but Orlando Police Chief John Mina said once authorities were able to get into the club, many more victims were discovered. Mina called the attack “one of the worst tragedies we’ve seen.”
In addition to the slayings, at least 53 other victims were taken to area hospitals for medical treatment, police said. There were an estimated 320 people in the club when it opened Saturday night.
They call it a tragedy, but a tragedy is an accident, this was a planned attack by a radical Islamist.
Mir Seddique, Mateen’s father told NBC News, “This has nothing to do with religion.” Seddique said his son got angry when he saw two men kissing in Miami a couple of months ago and thinks that may be related to the shooting.
The State Department-led Overseas Security Advisory Council report reads that “martyrdom during the month may hold a special allure to some,” and has asked U.S. organizations to “remain aware of the persistent threat of (ISIS) attacks, both inspired and directed,” according to published reports.

ISIS reportedly cheered the Orlando massacre and promised to “slay everyone of you O disbeliever.”
The shooting at the gay bar took place during LGBT pride month, celebrated each year in June. The suspect has been identified as Omar Mateen, 29, from Port St. Lucie, according to U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson. Mateen is a U.S. citizen, but some of his family members are not. Grayson would not say where the family is from, but several media outlets have reported they are from Afghanistan.
Islam is totally incompatible with western civilization. They will not assimilate. They routinely kill gays (either by hanging or throwing off rooftops) and Christians in those Islamic countries and now Obama brings in tens of thousands of them in here and none are being vetted or checked. RECENT released info by the FBI has stated that the FBI has already established that this was a TERRORIST attack,”according to Press Secretary Josh Earnest. Obama has done nothing, helpful, nor agreed that this was a terrorist attack, again. He just brushes it off as man filled with hate.

Omar Mateen of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, came to the attention of federal authorities twice prior to being identified as the gunman in the Orlando nightclub mass shooting, a senior law enforcement source told The Daily Beast.
Mateen 53 people and shot more than 100 in total at the Pulse gay nightclub early Sunday morning, in the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.
The senior law enforcement source reports that Mateen became a person of interest in 2013 and again in 2014. The Federal Bureau of Investigation at one point opened an investigation into Mateen but subsequently closed the case when it produced nothing that appeared to warrant further investigation.
“He’s a known quantity,” the source said. “He’s been on the radar before.”
