Locking up speeds of up to 75mph the drones buzzed around the iconic stadium and further proved why the sport of drone racing is gaining more and more popularity. The event was live streamed for the first time to spectators over EE’s 4G network, with 4GEE Action Cams attached to the drones in a world first, bringing fans closer to the action. At the heart of the event and the new face of the sport was 16-year-old drone wiz kid Luke Bannister, who has just recently come back from winning the Drone Grand Prix in Dubai bagging himself £174k in price money.
I have to admit .. I want to do this. It’s kind of like the red bull air races on a scale a typical person could handle.
As you’ll see in the video, a 16yr old boy won some serious money racing these things – almost a quarter of a million U.S. dolars! The money aside, it just looks like an absolutely fun time.
