  1. “For years I’ve joked with my friends that the conservative case for raising the minimum wage is so overwhelmingly strong that I’m worried liberals might eventually change their minds on the issue and begin advocating a cut in the minimum wage.”

    Ron Unz.

And he’s right. The current balance encourages big business to fund the flooding of the US with cheap labour, to drive down the market wage with unskilled workers who’ll cost more to the government than is given back (Heritage Study proved they’re net government service consumers).

If the minimum wage is increased, unemployment will be created; but the drive for flooding the US with unskilled workers will be removed. Entry-level jobs will be fewer, but these are the same jobs that immigrants tend to currently fill. We don’t want floods of Democrat-voting, government-mooching, unskilled immigrants.

The minimum wage would have saved America had it been imposed in the 1990s. It’s the conservative movement’s foolishness that has created the conditions for continued floods of immigrants. The minimum wage isn’t the ideal way to fix the US (because it creates unemployment), but this is not an ideal society.

I doubt a minimum wage hike would harm small businesses more than big businesses, as your cartoon suggests. Obamacare legitimately harmed small business, as does much regulation; but I doubt your cartoon is at all accurate.
