Barack Obama’s Economy:The Imperial President

 Obama-the-King

When Barack Obama first came on the scene he promised to ”transform America. Change is coming,” he boldly exclaimed. This made me very suspicious right away. This was a man who nobody knew anything about. His background was sketchy and dubious to say the least, he had no business experience, no management experience, no executive experience, never held a real job except a six month stint as senator where he only voted present and here he was President of the U.S.  People were so enamoured with this guy only because of the color of his skin. They hailed the first half black president. The media had orgasms over him. Women fainted when he spoke. For what???  He was awarded the nobel prize not because of anything he did, but because of what they expected him to do. But to transform Americas you first have to tear down the old system to replace it with the new system and that’s just what he is doing.

Since he’s been in office he has defied the constitution which he pledged to uphold time and time again (never forget he also got sworn in on the Koran), defied congress time after time and admitted he would do that.”I have the pen and I have the phone,” he arrogantly proclaimed.

Now five years later the economy is in shambles, 1 in 3 people are out of work, that’s 100 million, 50% of teenagers are out of work, unemployment is closer to 30%, prices are soaring, he has his NSA collecting data on every text message we send, every e-mail we  send  and every phone call we make and there are cameras everywhere all in the name of national security.

Companies are failing and going out of business and major retail chains are closing. Here are 16 companies that have closed stores or will close stores soon:

•Office supply company Staples has announced plans to close 225 stores by 2015, which is about 15 percent of its chain. Staples already closed 40 stores last year. Industry analysts expect Staples’ main competitor, Office Depot, which bought OfficeMax last year, to announce its own round of store closings soon.

•Radio Shack has announced plans to close 20 percent of its stores this year, which is as many as 1,100 stores. The company, which operates around 4,000 stores, reported that its sales fell by 19 percent last year.

•Albertsons closed 26 stores in January and February according to Supermarket News. Analysts expect many more Albertsons could soon be shuttered because Albertsons owner hedge fund Cerberus Capital Management just bought Safeway Inc. Some Safeway stores could soon shut down as well.

•Clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch is planning to close 220 stores by the end of 2015. The company is also planning to shut down an entire chain it owns, Gilly Hicks, which has 20 stores, 24/7 Wall Street reported.

•Barnes & Nobles is planning to shut down one third of its stores in the next year: about 218 stores. The chain has already closed its iconic flagship store in New York City.

•J.C. Penney is closing about 33 stores and laying off about 2,000 employees.

•The Record newspaper in New Jersey reported that Toys R Us has plans to close 100 stores.

•The Sweetbay Supermarket chain will close all 17 of the stores it operates in the Tampa Bay area, The Herald Tribune newspaper reported. Many of the stores might open as Winn-Dixie Stores. Sweetbay closed 33 stores in Florida last year.

•The entire Loehmann’s chain of discount clothing stores in the New York City area shut down. Loehmann’s once operated 39 stores, The New York Times reported, and was considered an institution by generations of New Yorkers.

•Industry analyst John Kernan told CNN that he expects Sears Holdings, which owns both Sears and Kmart, to close another 500 stores this year. Sears has already shut down its flagship store in Chicago.

•Quiznos has filed for bankruptcy, USA Today reported, and could close many of its 2,100 stores.

•Sbarro which operates pizza and Italian restaurants in malls, is planning to close 155 locations in the United States and Canada. That means nearly 20 percent of Sbarro’s will close. The chain operates around 800 outlets.

•Ruby Tuesday announced plans to close 30 restaurants in January after its sales fell by 7.8 percent. The chain currently operates around 775 steakhouses across the US.

•An unknown number of Red Lobster stores will be sold. The chain is in such bad shape that the parent company, Darden Restaurants Inc., had to issue a press release stating that the chain would not close. Instead Darden is planning to spin Red Lobster off into another company and sell some of its stores.

•Ralph’s, a subsidiary of Kroger, has announced plans to close 15 supermarkets in Southern California within 60 days.

•Safeway closed 72 Dominick’s grocery stores in the Chicago area last year.

A good friend of mine recently booked a few days at a B&B in Cape May, N.J. It is a very popular place and you usually have to book way in advance. When he called they said they had plenty of rooms and were taking $100 off their price. Recently his mother and her boyfriend went to Atlantic City and were able to get a room for $75 for two nights. I know Atlantic City is known for cheap rooms as they want you to use the casinos, but this is extraordinary for the beginning of the shore season.

The Obama administration may tell Americans the economy is recovering, but the retail industry and economic data say something very different. Yes he is transforming the country alright and people are mad as hell and clamouring for impeachment hearings like with Clinton, but don’t expect that to happen. As Erik Erickson of Red State said:

We know for certain that Barack Obama violated the law in making the trade for Bergdahl. He failed to notify the Congress. But here is the thing we on the right must be mindful of — he did so intentionally as a 2014 gambit.

As I have said repeatedly, the only way Barack Obama thinks he can mitigate the damage coming in November is to inflame his base, particularly black voters. Having Republicans start beating the drums for impeachment does exactly that.

There are not the votes for impeachment and Harry Reid has swallowed his integrity quicker than a toothless whore at Mardi Gras. He will nod and do whatever the President demands, intellectual integrity be damned. Objectively, this act could be on a list of impeachable offenses. But there are not enough votes. There is no desire by the GOP in Washington to do it. And it will not happen.

Republicans who beat the drum for impeachment are only playing to the Democrats’ hand.

Instead, ride the storm, highlight the offense, and after we have the Senate and House recreate the Iran-Contra hearings. Remind the Democrats of Congress’s power of oversight. There will not be, even if the GOP wins in November, enough votes to convict the President in an impeachment trial. But by God we can restore the military’s faith in civilian rule and uncover exactly why this President seems so intent to treat terrorists in Afghanistan better than conservatives in America.”

Besides as Rush Limbaugh recently said, ‘You can’t impeach the first black president’,or can you.”

‘You can’t impeach 1st black president,’ or can you?
