Lowering The Bar On Racism

Well, here we go again, the word racist being thrown around. Personally, I am getting pretty tired of hearing that word, but there are some people who just cannot wait for something to happen so they can go up to the roof and shout racist, they actually enjoy it, they live for it. The left wing news shows are on 24 hour racist watch, they are in their glory, they salivate for stories like this.

The big story is now the Donald Sterling controversy, it seems his girlfriend (who is half-black by the way) has him on tape saying he does not want her to bring black people to basketball games, for this he is called a racist? First of all, how can he be a racist if he is dating a girl who is half black and why would she be dating him if he is such a racist?

Maybe it is just me, but the word racist means something a lot different. If someone is a member of the KKK, he is without a doubt a racist, I mean, after all, that is what that organization is all about. So I don’t understand how you can compare Donald Sterling with a member of the KKK, Sterling is nowhere near that. If Sterling was standing at the ticket holders gate telling black people they are not allowed in, or holding up a sign saying so, that would be a different story, but he was at home telling his girlfriend not to bring black people to the games, big difference to me.

I have been called a racist many times by those lefties, because of my constant criticism of Obama and I have been called a hater because I am a defender of traditional marriage. I truly believe you diminish the words racist and hater when you throw it around just because you don’t agree with that person, but that’s just me. Our society has become so PC, that the First Amendment is being crapped on and people are so afraid to say what they truly believe for fear of ridicule and persecution.

There is an old saying, “Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.” This happened once before in our nation’s history, does anyone remember Joseph McCarthy and the famous McCarthy hearings? In the early 1950’s then Senator McCarthy was in charge of a committee to investigate Communist infiltration in America. It got to the point that people had to watch everything they said and whom they associated with, or they might be branded a Communist, many lives were ruined because of it.

Those of us who watch Conservative TV and listen to Conservative radio, know that people like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and the rest, have all been called racists, does that mean that they are? I heard O’Reilly say on his show once that his grandparents did not like black people, does that mean they were bad people? I bet they were loving people who loved and raised a family, had friends, went to church and had a great life, were they racist as well, I think not.

The word racist is thrown around much too often and for the wrong reasons, to call sterling a racist because he told his girlfriend he didn’t want her to bring black people to the games, while sitting in his living room I think is kind of harsh, save it for the members of the KKK.
