We Need To Start Condemning People Again

I was recently talking to a neighbor of mine, during our conversation he told me he was going to be a grandfather, which I said great and did the usual kidding about him getting older. Then I said you know I didn’t even know she was married, which he replied that she wasn’t, as he said it I could see the hurt look in his eyes. I said well, that seems to be the way things are going today, then he said, “she is my daughter, what am I gonna do, kick her out of the house?”

Later on I started thinking, the reason why things like this are happening more and more these days is because there is no shame connected with it anymore. It seems that we live in a shameless society today where everything is accepted. Nothing is looked down on or frowned upon, if we criticize, condemn or judge anything, we are the ones who are wrong. The proportion of children born to unmarried mothers hit a record 47.5 per cent last year, according to the Office for National Statistics. The figure has risen from 25 per cent in 1988 and just 11 per cent in 1979. It is not only unwed mothers that we must not condemn, but it seems that most things that were once considered wrong, just does not matter to society today.

Once, being on welfare and collecting food stamps was an embarrassment and humiliating, if someone was on them, they would never admit it and would get off the Government dole as quickly as possible. Now, people are happy to be on the Government dole, they talk about it freely and even try to convince other people they know to jump on as well. In many states, you make more living on welfare than going out and working, so why bother working. Well, what do you expect when the Government sends out recruiters to sign-up people for food stamps.

We live in a society now where people can do whatever they want without any consequences, if you speak out about something that you know is wrong, you are labeled a hater or bigot or insensitive, or uncaring. However, it seems to me the opposite is true. It is because I care about the direction our country and society are heading, that I do condemn many things I see as wrong.

Now a day it seems like the worse things you do, the more you are celebrated, as a matter of fact you will probably be given a Reality Show. Unwed mothers are celebrated, drug users are celebrated, having multiple wives is celebrated, and making sex tapes will shoot you to the top fastest of all. Father Knows Best, Leave It To Beaver and Ozzie And Harriet were some of the shows I watched when I was a kid, now, unless Ozzie and Harriet were having multiple affairs and David and Ricky were homosexual drug users, the show would never get on the air.

It seems to me we need to start condemning and judging people again, don’t get me wrong, I am a believer in freedom, but a society needs parameters to live by or it will start to collapse and I believe our society is in decline. Just think, you can go to a restaurant in San Francisco and at the next table, you can find someone eating completely naked, that’s right, walking around naked is legal in San Francisco, where is the sense in that.

We are all familiar with the disgraceful performance of Miley Cyrus, after the performance her father said he was proud of her, Miley’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is well aware that his daughter can’t be tamed, and as such he tweeted a message of support for the 20-year-old singer. After her raunchy performance that featured her grinding on Robin Thicke and simulating masturbation, he also said he and his daughter have been like friends her whole life. Well I have news for Billy Ray, parents are supposed to be parents, not friends, condemning her performance might have been a start, but I think it might be a little late for Miley.

  1. As a whole, we have a huge headache & thinking of all that’s on our plate makes us nauseated & our stomach churns….We have a hangover from the early ’70’s, from an over abundance of self indulgence. As our grades in Stewardship 101 began to fail our Nation, our PARENTING SKILLS flat went out the window. …Oh, we held on to some (loosely) and stored the idea of being a mom or dad, but, gosh, weren’t our children “entitled” to develop their ‘own’ self expression?….And shouldn’t that apply to the neighbors as well? Hey! Live & let live! Right?

Lesson: When coffee is ‘in’ the cup, it allows an element of ‘control’…spilled it is a mess & spreading out of control….We can, however, clean it up….We can work at restoring the “Family Unit’ consisting of PARENT as the teacher, guiding the children….With determination we still have time….Now of course that means shoving the IPhones in the drawer & turning them off & acknowledging that ‘texting’ is not conversation.

    I relinquish my soapbox……

  2. The other evening I was watching Turner Classic Movies as an exceptionally good Western was scheduled. It was the original “3:10 to Yuma” starring Glen Ford and Van Heflin. Robert Osborne, the host was talking with a guest host, Patton Oswalt, who chose this movie for this particular evening. Glen Ford was one of the manliest actors of the ’50s and ’60s and Patton was commenting on the reasons he chose this picture; in his opinion it was perhaps the oddest role Glen had ever played because usually he was a “good guy”. But in this picture he was the villain. Then Patton said something that truly inflamed me and I almost turned the TV off – I was that mad! He suggested there were Homosexual undertones in the “bridal suite” scenes where the bound Glen Ford was lying back on the bed attempting to “seduce” Van Heflin into letting him go…

It takes a special kind of perverted mind to extrapolate such a notion about a man like Glen and a Western like “3:10 to Yuma” – especially when the character of Ben Wade had just seduced a young woman a few scenes earlier in the movie!!! GRRRRRRRRR!

Even Robert Osborne was somewhat surprised and yet quite happily admitted he would need to look at the picture afresh!!

The picture was made in 1957 but to make such a suggestion even 25 years ago would have had a decidedly negative reaction from most people and I would venture the stupid little fat pup – who I know nothing of, but suspect is a fag himself – would not have had the nads to make such a suggestion.

Even our Heroes are under attack!!

This is Social Demoralization! We now accept the slime ball interpretations of a perverted mind if not an outright sexual pervert “entertainer” as worthy thought for consideration. In the old days this would have injured Mr. Oswalt’s career. But, of course, today it is enlightenment and fat boy Oswalt is to be commended for his astute observations. Let’s all celebrate!!

I am sick of the warped mentality of our society! I despise the evil burdens of political correctness. A queer is a queer. Esteeming such behavior even upon people we admire who are DEAD! is wrong!

I am no saint. But if I am wrong I do not wish to be coddled into believing I am “okay”. What I feel does NOT determine right or wrong. Decency and Righteousness determines what is right or wrong!

Someone told me not very long ago that society – government – should have no say in Abortion because it is an Individual decision. NO – IT’s – NOT! Otherwise murder, which involves more than one individual, should ALSO be left up to the individual as to how right or wrong it is! (Oh wait! It IS murder!)
