Today, the FBI released the video footage from closed-circuit video cameras showing Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis at the scene of the attack on September 16, 2013.
This is never-before-seen footage from the events of September 11th, 2001. The video was released just a couple of days ago, on September 23, 2013. The video appears to be from multiple sources. The Libertarian Republic states that the video “has yet to undergo strenuous tests to verify its authenticity but it is an intriguing insight into the psychology of the people who were there in New York that day.”
“My name will be great among the Gentiles, from the rising to the setting of the sun. In every place incense and pure offerings will be brought to my name because my name will be great among the Gentiles, says YAHWEH Almighty.” (Malachi 1:11)
Decisions, decisions, should the Government be shut down or should it not be shut down, as Shakespeare said, that is the question. There is no doubt that Obama-Care is destructive for our country and it deserves to be overturned, but is this the time to do it?
There seems to be two schools of thought when it comes to Obama-Care. Either fight to defund it, or let it proceed and let it collapse under its own weight. There is no doubt that it will collapse, there is just no way it will work. Supposedly, in order for Obama-Care to succeed, everyone in America must participate, yet Obama has exempted so many groups, who is going to make up for that loss of money? Why the average person that Obama said he is trying to help, how is it going to help? By raising premiums that’s how, after all someone has to make up the difference.
Fighting to defund Obama-Care: Well that has a slim to none chance, but is it worth the fight? Well I say yes, after all Republicans have to take a stand on something, they need to show that they have balls and get into the fight. I might remind the Republican leadership that a small handful of patriots took a stand against the mightiest country on the planet, England. Not everyone in the colonies were for independence from England, but the ones that were for it strapped on their balls and went out and fought for it. The result was the biggest upset in the history of our country; their chances of winning were also slim to none.
Democrats keep saying that it is the law of the land, so we need to get over it and move on, but Rush Limbaugh came up with a good point, as he usually does. Mr. Limbaugh wondered “what else at one time was the ‘law of the land?’ Slavery!” “Slavery used to be the law of the land,” Limbaugh informed his audience, noting that the Supreme Court even once upheld it. From there, he listed other things that used to be the “law of the land” but are not relics of the past:
- “Defense of Marriage Act.”
- “The speed limit used to be 55, now it’s 70.”
- “Immigration law.”
- “Guns, Second Amendment.”
- “Laws against marijuana.”
Limbaugh wanted to know why Democrats are allowed to get rid of “bad laws” they don’t like but Republicans aren’t. “Is that the only way they can defend this?” Limbaugh asked. “Is that the best they’ve got? ‘It’s the law of the land’? Rush forgot Proabition, which was also once the law of the land.
I for one understand both sides, but I am getting pretty tired of Republicans wimping out every time there is a fight to be had. Republicans might want to look back at the history of this country and take inspiration from some of the people that made this country great. John Paul Jones, a man who stood only 5’5” but commander of an American war ship during the Revolutionary War found himself almost beaten by a British war ship. The British officer yelled out for Jones to surrender, when Jones shouted back, “I have not yet begun to fight!” Well, to make a long story short, Jones eventually won that battle.
John Paul Jones should not have won. But he and his crew were made of sterner stuff than the enemy. They were outnumbered, outgunned, betrayed by their own, and had inferior technology with which to fight, their chances were also slim to none. We elect our Representatives to speak for us in Washington, but how often do they do what the people want? Maybe they should look to John Paul Jones for the answer.

Do you think that political correctness and secularism leads to a peaceful society? If you do, you might be a liberal – and you might be the target of Alfonzo Rachel’s comments for today. In case you’re wondering, yes he is hitting back with some truth when it comes to important issues like mass shootings, and liberal propaganda.

If Ohio’s public employees are concerned about retirement system changes under Obamacare, it seems no one’s talking. Joe Wilson’s “You lie!“ shout-out to Obama from the floor of Congress in 2009 was indeed prophecy. Obama did lie. State of Ohio spouses cannot ‘keep their health insurance because they like it.’ I am one of those spouses.
Lying to America’s elderly about critical services like medical care far exceeds this president’s phony display of self-righteous indignation at Joe Wilson, for outing his lies. Calling out lies is what we expect of leaders. Well, Michelle, I have never been as ashamed of my American government as I am now … of this phony president, his phony policies, his phony Congress, and his phony peddlers.
Apparently the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS) is one of those peddlers. Their seminars effectively blanket the effects of Obamacare in shrouds of economic generality, as if We bear some responsibility for this condition. An economic condition which is, in great part, because of Obamacare and is, in all part, because of Obama.
Reportedly Obamacare made it illegal for health plans to disclose all of the health care services that will no longer be covered. Those can’t be shared until October. OPERS instructs us to call our plan provider. OPERS will gradually increase members’ costs for spouse insurance over the next three years, beginning January 2014, until members bear all spouse costs by end of year three. Then their spouses are thrown to the Obamacare exchange wolves.
Spouse Coverage [excerpted] — Beginning in 2016, spouses over the age of 65 and enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B can use the Medicare Connector to select a plan on the individual Medicare market.
But not to worry according to OPERS, they will guide spouses through the even more expensive Obamacare exchanges to see which plan they can afford. Sorry if your conditions aren’t covered or if you can’t afford the plan you need to cover your conditions. That’s just too bad.
OPERS uses a lot of gimmicky words with special, limited meanings and they cloak the bad news in good feeling concepts so you’re still feeling ingratiated when you read about them. “Access” does not mean coverage and it does not mean you don’t pay for having “access.” Go to the OPERS web site for more complete information.
Mark Steyn reports that spouses and children losing health insurance are the ultimate “unintended consequence” of Obamacare. Spouses and children are being taken off of employee health plans nationwide. This is said to leave more millions of Americans uninsured than were uninsured before Obamacare.
Forbes just released a Medicare/Medicaid study citing Obamacare is estimated to cost American families $7,450. I don’t know about yours, but our young families are doing good to meet survival needs as it is right now. Given our own senior fixed incomes and increasing risks for ailing health, I know we also cannot afford Obamacare. This is the most viciously corrupt transfer of wealth – and imposition of death sentences – as a free people have ever seen.
Most readers will find it easier to think about how this number translates to a typical American family—the very family candidate Obama promised would see $2,500 in annual savings as far as the eye could see. Between 2014 and 2022, the increase in national health spending (which the Medicare actuaries specifically attribute to the law) amounts to $7,450 per family of 4.
Let us hope this family hasn’t already spent or borrowed the $22,500 in savings they might have expected over this same period had they taken candidate Obama’s promise at face value. In truth, no well-informed American ever should have believed this absurd promise.
So that’s three more Obama lies Joe Wilson was remiss in pointing out. Where were the other 534 members of this not-so-esteemed Congress, huh Joe? Not to fear for them, those elitists are covered with expensive, lavish, private health plans outside of Obamacare exchanges, at our expense. I suppose that only matters to tax-payers and even some of those are still dizzy from Obama’s phony Liberal do-gooder ride.
The American people have until this Friday, September 27th, to call and email Senators, asking them to defund Obamacare. Congress listens when they receive thousands of calls. Burn up the phone lines. Call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Senator. Tell them you want them to defund Obamacare and you will remember their vote when you vote again.
On Sunday Ted Cruz discussed plans that are necessary in the Senate this week:
A retired Constitutional lawyer – who actually read the healthcare bill – warns (excerpted):
This legislation really has no intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.
This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and limiting rights… Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to “be bound by oath or affirmation to support the Constitution.” If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.
Call. Call Senators every day this week. Go to this link for complete telephone listing.
Julie Borowski just scrapes the surface on the problems of Common Core education. Yes, what little she says is very scary, so the fact that she’s barely getting to the real meat and bones of the problem should be terrifying!
Today, many who consider themselves “visionaries” are sounding the alarm about the size and scope of government. From Obamacare to the Right to Bear Arms they decry government over-reach and the bureaucratization of our government. But those who truly understand the agenda of the Progressive Movement in the United States have been sounding this warning for years, explaining that for the Progressive’s agenda to be achieved a strong and authoritative centralized government must exist, unfettered by the interference that a free people, armed with Natural Law rights, would inject. Sadly, even those who brag about understanding these points, do very little about it, choosing to complain while failing to support the foot soldiers fighting the battle.
The frustration among those who are moved to action; who are moved to sacrifice time, treasure and station, is palpable. Further, as Progressives use the many-tiered bureaucracies – at all levels of government – to advance their agenda (and make no mistake, they are advancing), those American citizens moved to defend the freedoms bequeathed to them not only stand alone in their fight, they are often penalized and ostracized in the pursuit of defending their rights.
To wit, the BaltimoreSun.com reports:
The Howard County father whose arrest became a viral web video and a cause célèbre of conservative talk radio won’t be prosecuted for disrupting a meeting on state education standards.
The Baltimore County state’s attorney’s office dropped assault charges Monday against Robert Small, who had been led out of the Thursday night meeting in Towson by an off-duty police officer. Small interrupted education officials, complaining that new standards were aimed at sending children to community colleges…
After a lengthy presentation by [US Department of Education] officials, members of the public were asked to submit their questions in writing. Baltimore County School Superintendent Dallas Dance then selectively scanned the pile of questions and picked out ones to be read aloud…
The Ellicott City father of two wasn’t satisfied that his question would be answered so he stood and interrupted Dance. He said he believed the new standards would lower expectations for students and that teaching would be aimed at “getting students to community colleges rather than Harvard.”
Mr. Smalls was then arrested…silenced…denied his First Amendment Free Speech Rights and his right to redress his government.
Whether or not you agree with the Common Core initiative is irrelevant to the point I am trying to make here, although it should be noted that Common Core, in the form in which it is being implemented, is a dramatic over-reach of federal authority and a mere shadow of what the National Governor’s Association intended for it to be. Textbooks are being geared toward the suggested curriculum standards and Progressives are taking the opportunity to advance their agenda (read here and here) through these textbooks and curricula.
The larger point I am making here is that our government – in the form of those elected to serve the citizenry – has not only gotten too large and too dependent on bureaucrats and the bureaucratic process, but arrogantly totalitarian as well; totalitarian to the point of usurping the rights guaranteed in the US Constitution.
It cannot be denied that Baltimore County School Superintendent Dallas Dance picked non-inflammatory and Common Core sympathetic questions to feature from the pile of questions submitted. Only an intellectual midget would suggest otherwise. And while this is disingenuous at best, it pales in comparison to the panel’s use of force to silence a parent…a taxpayer…the very person who pays the salaries of each and every authoritarian who sits on the panel that silenced him.
Redress of government is a constitutional right, at every level. When a parent – a taxpaying parent and an engaged and educated parent – is denied his or her constitutional right to redress government at the most base level; when a concerned and informed parent is silenced from questioning the implementation of a program he or she feels denies their children a basic education, tyranny reigns. In the Baltimore County School System, tyranny reigns, supported by the oppression only afforded by an oligarchical and corrupt system.
Democrat strategist Pat Caddell opined on this issue saying,
“What we saw here is much bigger than just this. It is the idea that the people work for the…that people are the slaves to the officeholders. Superintendents of schools who won’t take questions…We see this sort of thing with security…We see it when the EPA goes to Alaska and raids with armed people and four agencies going in with guns on gold-mining operations in some little town. The things the government does now to oppress people, the laws we have now…the NSA spying on them…the fear…and imposing of a ‘soft despotism,’ which is, ‘if you get out of line will come get you’…”
Mr. Caddell’s frustration and – dare I say fear-based concern – was palpable, and rightly so.
Make no mistake, as government grows this “soft despotism” with expand, morphing into full-blown oppression: Free speech will be a concept recalled with longing as “hate speech” laws expand; Redress of government will become non-existent, those courageous enough to defend liberty and freedom sequestered for “threatening the government” and/or publicly ostracized to the point of demagoguery. We have witnessed the latter in the despotic treatment of the TEA Party by the mainstream media and Progressive Movement, conciliatory and vulnerable establishment Republicans in tow.
Mr. Smalls not only deserves better, he should bring legal action, not against the Baltimore Police Department, but directly against those who violated his constitutional rights.
The people of Baltimore County deserve better and they should demand that they receive better. But that can only be achieved through action; at the expense of time, treasure and station. The concerned citizens of Baltimore County should stage a recall of their Progressive school board members and then run for those positions themselves. Once elected, they can provide constitutionally conscious oversight of the day-to-day operations of the country school system, including curriculum and textbooks.
And finally, the people of the United States deserve better than the elitist, oligarchical, career-conscious, gaggle of political opportunists currently elected to office. A perfect litmus test for divining the opportunistic among this class is to juxtapose their campaign promises with their chamber votes. If someone ran on defunding, repealing and replacing Obamacare, but now provides politically opportune and cowardly excuses for not doing so, identify him or her as the elitist, political opportunist that he or she is and act accordingly.
Additionally, hold your no- and low-information family, friends and neighbors accountable for their abdication of responsibility to the community; their abdication of responsibility to be informed and engaged. Truth be told, if you are a citizen and you are not informed and engaged, then you are an intellectually lazy and societally narcissistic, willing to benefit from the diligence and hard work of someone else; expecting someone else to provide the oversight to government so sorely needed today. If you are a citizen and you are not informed and engaged then you are societally selfish and deserve neither the Natural Law rights bequeathed to you, nor the protections they afford. If you are a citizen and you are not informed and engaged then you are the problem.
Personally, I will not exist as a slave to an oligarchical government because 41.8% of the US voting population thinks that it’s not worth their time or that they are too good to do the hard work of keeping an eye on their government’s actions, size and willingness to oppress.
I stand with Mr. Smalls. I will not sit like “cattle” as elitist oligarchs destroy our country. How about you?
Russia’s decisions to grant asylum to Edward Snowden and to send warships to the coast of Syria to protect that country’s regime from the United States are just the latest hostile steps taken by Russia against the US, in a long line of hostile actions take against the US under Vladimir Putin’s rule.
But these two events are notable in and of themselves, because they are the final nails in the coffin of the Obama Administration’s utterly failed “reset” (read: appeasement) policy towards Russia.
Despite, or perhaps because of, this utterly failed and shameful policy, Russia is even more hostile and virulently anti-American than it was in January 2009.
This is not surprising to anyone who actually knows foreign policy well – unlike the self-appointed “experts” populating the Council on Foreign Relations, the Obama administration, RINO Republicans like Henry Kissinger and Colin Powell, and most Washington (and European) think-tanks, who to this very day delude themselves that the “reset” has been a success and that Russia is a partner rather than a foe. (Obama himself falsely claimed in September, AFTER the Snowden affair and Assad’s chemical weapons attack on Syria, that “we succeeded” and that the “reset” allegedly produced “a whole host” of outcomes beneficial to the US.)
Nor is it any surprise to Mitt Romney, who, last year, correctly called Russia “America’s #1 geopolitical foe”, although China seems to compete hard for that coveted title. Mitt Romney was absolutely right, and Obama absolutely wrong, all along.
Already during the Bush years, I was warning that the Bush administration, where Condoleezza Rice (a RINO of the same mold as Colin Powell who, just like Powell, voted for Obama) called the shots on foreign policy, was engaged in craven appeasement of Putin’s Russia – a policy that even Zbigniew Brzezinski, Jimmy Carter’s nat-sec advisor, condemned as shameful and Chamberlain-like.
President Bush unilaterally cut America’s nuclear deterrent, scrapped the USAF’s most modern and capable ICBMs (MX Peacekeeper missiles), and retired the USAF’s most capable cruise missiles, the AGM-129s. Moreover, he cravenly sought Vladimir Putin’s permission to deploy a meager 10 interceptors in Central Europe to protect the US from Iran.
Barack Obama and his administration elevated appeasement to an art, calling it “reset” and starting a long, one-way street of concessions to Russia in the vain hope the Kremlin would reciprocate.
Since 2009, the US has agreed (under New START) to cut its own nuclear deterrent by 33% while allowing Russia to grow its own; to intrusive inspections of its missile defense facilities; to allow Russia to join the WTO; to make no more than symbolic complaints about Russia’s massive human rights violations; and to cancel plans to deploy missile defense systems in Poland and the Czech Republic. Obama has also made massive cuts in missile defense spending and programs, killing those programs that would’ve provided the most effective defense (MKV, KEI, ABL, SM-3 4th stage). In 2012, he even promised the Russians “more flexibility” on missile defense and nuclear weapons after his reelection.
And yet, Russia has not become even one iota more cooperative or less hostile since 2009.
While Russia has provided some meager assistance to the US in Afghanistan – renting aircraft and opening its supply lines to that country – it had already been cooperating on that front since 2001. Obama and his utterly failed “reset” policy had nothing to do with this. Russia is cooperating on Afghanistan out of its own national interest – NOT because of any desire to collaborate with the US on anything. Terrorists based in Afghanistan pose a much greater danger to Russia than the US.
Russia, in any case, is not much help there – renting its aircraft is far more expensive than operating the USAF’s own, and delivering supplies through Russia is several times more expensive than through Pakistan.
So Russia’s “help” on Afghanistan is utterly useless. The US could’ve procured a number of additional American-made C-17 aircraft (and thus also create some US jobs) instead of renting those grotesquely-expensive Russian planes.
On nothing else has Russia been cooperative.
It has not cancelled the sale of S-300 air defense systems as is often erroneously claimed – it has decided to sell a different (but equally capable) S-300VM instead of the S-300PMU. Moreover, it now plans to sell it to Syria as well.
It supplies America’s enemies – Iran, Syria, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, and even Hezbollah – with diplomatic protection and (excepting NK and Cuba) with weapons. Russia’s deputy foreign minister has even said this about Hezbollah:
“We cooperate with Hezb’allah and respect the Lebanese people’s will… this party, which has proven its credibility [over the course of time], must [have its opinions] respected.”
Russia has built nuclear reactors in Iran, has supplied tons of nuclear fuel to that country, and continues to supply it with that, as well as weapons and diplomatic protection. If Iran ever acquires a nuclear weapon, let alone uses it against anyone, Russia will be directly responsible.
Russia had the Boston bombers (the Tsarnayev brothers) wiretapped for months before the Boston bomb attack, and withheld critical information from US intel and law enforcement – information that could’ve prevented the terrorist attack. In other words, it willfully allowed the terrorist attacks to succeed. (But that doesn’t stop Putin from deceitfully posing as a friend of the US, and many Americans, including many Republicans like Dana Rohrabacher and Pat Buchanan, from being utterly duped by Putin.)
Moscow also continues to widely disseminate anti-American propaganda – at home and in the US itself – through state-owned radio and TV channels such as “Russia Today”/RT, which broadcasts in the US and on the Internet, is wholly owned and operated by the Kremlin, employs Russian propagandists and some useful American idiots, and spreads vociferous anti-American propaganda. (And because of births of a feather tend to flock together, Ron Paul fans like Julie Borowski love to appear on that channel.)
RussiaToday is, BTW, operating ILLEGALLY in the US, in violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which requires all those who perform PR work for a foreign actor, and all media outlets which perform such work or present a foreign actor’s viewpoint or propaganda, to register at the DOJ as foreign agents, constantly notify the DOJ of their financial operations, and, in case of TV channels, permanently display a “Acts on behalf of a foreign actor” strip on the TV screen.
RT has not satisfied any of these legal requirements, meaning that it is operating illegally in the US and is thus a criminal organization.
And, as a part of their craven appeasement policies, the Bush and Obama administrations have tolerated this.
You can see what persons and entities have registered in the US on behalf of any country here. Pick “Russia” from the list and see for yourself – the RussiaToday channel has NOT registered as with the DOJ as an agent of the Russian government.
Russia has been busy for the last several years building an increasingly capable missile defense system – while demanding that the US stop developing and upgrading its own and foreswear deploying it abroad.
Moscow has, simoultaneously, been pursuing an offensive arms race against the US – extending the service lifetimes of its current weapons while ordering large numbers of new ones. On order are, inter alia, 400 new ICBMs, hundreds of SLBMs, 8 ballistic missile subs, hundreds of 5th generation stealthy PAKFA fighters, and new tanks. Russia is also building new Tu-160 from stockpiled components and developing a new, stealthy bomber – the PAK DA. Russia’s navy is building new, more capable classes of ships as well, and one Akula class submarine spied on the USN’s submarine base at Kings Bay (GA) last year.
In the last year, Russia’s provocative and hostile actions have only worsened, as it has begun flying nuclear-armed bombers (and their escort fighters) very near US airspace and twice INTO Japanese airspace, as well as into Swedish airspace once. This included simulated strikes on US missile defense sites in Alaska, California, and Japan, on Japanese bases, on US bases in Guam (a strategically important island in the Western Pacific), and Sweden’s military bases.
When asked by reporters what they were doing flying close to Alaska, the Russians said they were “practicing attacking the enemy.”
This is what they consider the US to be: “the enemy.” Those are their words, not mine.
In September, the civilized world observed the 30th anniversary of the Soviet massacre of KAL007, a civilian airliner that erroneously ventured into Soviet airspace and was shot down. The commander of the base from which the Su-15 interceptors executing the shootdown originated was one Anatoliy Kornukov – later Commander of the Russian AF under Yeltsin and Putin, photographed happily sharing drinks with the later.
This criminal is one of Putin’s drinking friends.
But I’m not surprised. Once a KGB thug, always a KGB thug. Putin has spent his entire adult life learning to hate and to destroy, then trying to destroy, the Western civilization, including the US. He’ll never change, just like an Islamic terrorist will never forego jihad. What I am surprised by is that so many Americans were so foolish that they reelected Barack Obama, the author of the “reset” appeasement policy, last year – over the realist, tough, no-nonsense Gov. Mitt Romney. November 6th, 2012, will likely be the most shameful date in American history for perpetuity.
Below: Photos of Vladimir Putin meeting and shaking hands with other virulently anti-American dictators around the world.
What: Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it – or to not repeat the parts that should be. We’re in a solemn hour in the cause of freedom, and yes, we’re only ever one generation away from losing it. Allan Bourdius of the Their Finest Hour blog (theirfinesthour.blogspot.com) brings his conservative/libertarian fusion (“conservatarian”) perspective to the events of the day and contextualizes them with facts and history to arm the forces of liberty to better our communities and our society, open eyes, and win converts – so that one day our children, still with freedom intact, can look back and say of us, their parents: “This was their finest hour.”
Tonight: If you’re a conservative, and have been paying attention at all, you must know who Bruce Carroll (@GayPatriot.) So, join Allan Bourdius tonight, as he talks with the illustrious patriot from South Carolina who is bound and determined to make sure that Lindsey Graham doesn’t get to spend another term on the Hill!
For the life of me, I will never understand the Liberal mind, if I live to be 100 years old, I will never understand the moronic and illogical way the Liberal mind thinks. Recently in New York City a Liberal judge Shira Scheindlin declared stop and frisk unconstitutional. In the month after judge Shira Scheindlin’s decision that the police procedure is unconstitutional, shootings spiked nearly 13 percent and gun seizures plummeted more than 17 percent.
With in just 30 days after declaring the policy unconstitutional, there were 140 shootings across the city, compared with 124 during the same period last year. And the number of gunshot victims was up more than 9 percent, with 164 people struck by bullets this year, compared with 150 shot over that month last year. “Shootings are going through the roof now because perps are not afraid to carry a gun,” a source said. Another NYPD source said that cops are no longer being “proactive” with stop-and-frisk because “they’re scared of being sued. They feel as if the city is not going to indemnify them in lawsuits.” “Before the ruling, when police were proactively stopping people, guys would not carry a gun unless they knew they were going to do a shooting,” a police source said.
New York City’s Mayor Bloomberg said, “There is just no question that stop-question-frisk has saved countless lives. And we know that most of the lives saved, based on the statistics, have been black and Hispanic young men,” “It’s worth remembering that as recently as 1990, New York City averaged more than six murders a day. Today, we’ve driven that down to less than one murder a day.”
However, even with statistics like those, Liberal judge Scheindlin still says, “but in its current form, the policy encourages the targeting of young black and Hispanic men based on their prevalence in local crime complaints. This is a form of racial profiling.” Why doesn’t the judge ask the victims parents if they would rather have their children dead or frisked, but to the Liberal mind profiling is much more horrendous than someone dying is.
With 96% of the crimes in New York committed by people of color in black and Hispanic neighborhoods, why would they not concentrate on black and Hispanics? If the majority of crimes were committed by Chinese or Irish people than the police would concentrate in those neighborhoods. Like I said, the Liberal mind does not know the meaning of common sense. Liberals say if you believe in profiling, then you have to be a racist, but it seems to me racists are the ones who would want to see minorities dead, not protected.
Just recently there was another mass killing by a mentally ill person, he was walking around while many knew of his mental illness, authorities knew that he heard voices and claimed people were following him, yet he was allowed to roam free, why? Liberals, that’s why.
You see, Liberals won’t allow the dangerous mentally ill to be committed to institutions against their will. We can’t go putting people in mental hospitals just because they walk around talking to themselves, or walking around the city naked, or shouting insults at people.
You see, just like stop and frisk the Liberals do not really care about the victims, they are more concerned about not hurting someone’s feelings, or being politically correct. Just like in the Fort Hood shooting, the army knew that he was a radical Muslim, but because of political correctness and not to hurt anyone’s feelings, they turned a blind eye, the result, 13 people dead.
So as New York City starts to see the death toll for black and Hispanic men rise, the Liberals can proudly say, “At least they weren’t profiled.”
What Kind Of Society Are We Leaving Our Kids.” Available Here.
This is one man’s opinion.
I recently read a story about a public school that took students on a field trip to a mosque. At first I was outraged, as were many of my fellow conservatives. How dare they spend my tax money to go to such a place of hate and an enemy to Americans, those jihadist-loving Muslims. To top it off, the kids were given Qurans and were forced to listen to Muslim scriptures read from their book!
Then I heard it, that little voice in the back of my head… you hypocrite! Who me? Really? No way! But as I thought about the term “hypocrite”, that’s exactly what those thoughts were, hypocritical.
That’s right. You see, I often talk about freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of worship, but am I only talking about Christians or Jews? I firmly believe this country was founded on Judeo Christian principles and that the majority of our founding fathers were Christian, God-loving men. However, also I believe they gave up everything for the rights we hold so dear. And it wasn’t just for Christians and Jews, it was for everyone!
Whenever we conservatives (especially conservative Christians) even think one of our religious or free speech rights are being trampled on someone’s going to hear about it. And you know the left and the atheists would go out of their minds if there was a field trip to a church where a priest came out, read scripture to the kids, explained what it meant, and then offered the kids a Bible. Every anti-religion group known to mankind would come out to protect those kids from indoctrination! The Freedom from Religion Freaks, Freedom from Religion Association, and ACLU would be up in arms.
But on this one, nothing, not a peep, not a word. That shores up my argument that the attack is on Christianity. But that’s another column.
To my Christian Conservative friends, unless you want ruin any chance to educate children about your belief system, you need to back off!
The way to win this argument is to allow field trips to all places of worship. Buddhist temples, Jewish synagogues, Islamic mosques, Catholic churches, Christian churches, and whatever house of worship atheists and others have.
The left is a huge proponent of “education” and exposing our kids to all aspects of life. Let’s do the same thing! You can win this argument in court. Equal exposure to all aspects of religion for everyone.
Think about some of the songs and words our kids hear around Christmas and the holidays. What displays are put up? They are Christian in nature. We won these battles because we allowed, all songs, all displays to be on campus.
When they are taught about the legal system, they are taught where the basics come from (those pesky 10 Commandments!)
The Gideons give out Bibles near school entrances. These are rights the courts have upheld because we allow them for all religions, not just one.
Kids are permitted to lead student-initiated prayer at the flag pole on the National Day of Prayer and other events.
When you get past the rage and look at the facts, the kids were offered the Quran and a few took them. The kids were not forced to pray or read from the Quran. They weren’t even required to go, it was a field trip.
When the parents asked the principal why they didn’t go on other houses of worship field trips, he replied that it was simply a money issue.
Ok you conservative, Christian parents and business owners, now’s the time to ante up. Collect some funds and make that trip possible for all the kids in class. As your good book tells you, share your faith with all people.
The point is, don’t scream about how bad it is for your kids to visit a mosque and all that goes along with it. It’s about educating and informing people. You do that with information. Teach your kids well, expose them to these kinds of things, and as long as you’re living out what you believe, your kids won’t stray.
I remember reading, “Train up your children in the way they should go and when they are older they won’t depart from it”.
Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. Freedom of religion is for all or it’s for none!
Aaron Alexis was allowed to walk into a Navy Shipyard last week and systematically execute 12 people because his prior arrests for gun possession were never prosecuted and his cries for mental help were never addressed.
Instead of prosecuting Aaron Alexis on two separate crimes involving a firearm our politically correct judicial system instead issued him two get out of jail free cards. In addition, the mental health professionals who were supposed to recognize the warning signs instead gave him the benefit of the doubt and never shared their findings with the appropriate agencies who could have determined his mental status.
How did this man pass multiple background checks and evade multiple arrests involving firearm use and possession? Why did Aaron Alexis choose the Navy Ship Yard to perpetrate his crime? What drove this young man to commit this heinous act?
The Democratic Party will have you believe that this shooting was a result of too many guns in too many hands. They will have you believe that a complete ban on guns is the only answer to preventing these acts. They will blame it on Right Wing Extremists, the Second Amendment, and the National Rifle Association. They will give you every single excuse under the sun except for their own failed liberal policies.
What they won’t tell you is the truth.
In 1993 former president Bill Clinton issued an order forbidding members of the military and their civilian contractors from carrying their own personal firearms on military bases. Since this ruling at least 25 military personnel have been murdered as a result of this policy. I bet you never heard this on ABC, NBC, CBS, or CNN did you?
Since 1950, almost every single public shooting in the United States in which more than three people have been killed have taken place in what are commonly known as “gun free” zones. The main reason this tragedy occurred was due to Bill Clinton’s 1993 draconian policy on gun control.
Let’s take a look at some mass shootings that took place in gun free zones.
The last mass shooting on a military base happened only four short years ago. Nidal Hasan shot 13 people to death in Fort Hood, Texas in what is the worst mass shooting on a military base in history. Once again, Fort Hood was a gun free zone.
Last December Adam Lanza walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot to death 26 people, including 20 children. Once again, there were no faculty armed on school grounds essentially making the school another easy target in a gun free zone.
James Holmes, who shot to death 12 people last year in a Colorado movie theatre did so by seeking out the one theatre out of seven in the metropolitan Denver area that was in a gun free zone.
In 2007 Virginia Tech student Seung-Hui Cho shot to death 32 students in the worst mass shooting in United States history. Once again, Virginia Tech was a gun free campus with a complete ban on firearms on school property even for security guards and those that possessed a legal concealed weapons permit.
In 1999 two students who attended gun free zone Columbine High School in Colorado murdered 12 of their fellow classmates before turning their guns on themselves.
There are many other incidents of mass shootings that took place in gun free zones but for sake of time I can’t list them all. The fact is that gun free zones kill innocent victims. The people that commit these crimes are well aware that they will not meet an armed resistance which is exactly why these cowards choose these locations.
If military personnel were allowed to carry personal firearms on base these shooters would have thought twice about committing these crimes. If colleges, universities, high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, and even movie theatres were not in gun free zones than most of these tragedies would not have occurred.
The reality is not all shootings can be prevented. But allowing more law abiding citizens to carry firearms will decrease the amount of mass shootings. If plain clothed officers were allowed to patrol schools and carry a firearm it will make these places less of an attractive target. We need more guns in school not less guns in school. We need more guns on military bases not less guns on military bases. We need more armed citizens at movies theatres, restaurants, shopping malls, etc.
The biggest deterrent to fighting crime is not creating the environment that entices it. Most criminals will take the path of least resistance which is why gun free zones are so deadly. If more law abiding citizens were armed there would actually be less mass shootings. As Robert A. Heinlein once said, “An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his or her acts with their life.”

How the left uses identity politics and fear tactics to influence voters
Irony of ironies. Or perhaps it’s just ideology of ideologies.
Here’s the ideology part. On Friday, September 20, 2013, Dear Leader Barack Hussein Obama announced tough new requirements for new coal-fired power plants. He is set to ban all future coal-fired power plant construction by regulatory fiat by having the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issue new regulations. This is a central part of Obama’s global warming prevention plan, because it will help end what he calls “the limitless dumping of carbon pollution” from coal-fired power plants. Obama said at Georgetown University on June 25, 2013:
“As a President, as a father, and as an American, I’m here to say we need to act.
I refuse to condemn your generation and future generations to a planet that’s beyond fixing. And that’s why, today, I’m announcing a new national climate action plan, and I’m here to enlist your generation’s help in keeping the United States of America a leader — a global leader — in the fight against climate change. [emphasis mine]
The only way coal-fired power plants can comply with his latest requirements is to capture carbon-dioxide emissions and stick them underground, but that is a costly process that hasn’t been demonstrated on a commercial scale before. There are currently two coal-fired power plants being built that will meet the new EPA regulations. They are in Canada’s Saskatchewan Province and in Kemper County MS.
But (and there’s always a “but” when Obama is involved) there two troubling facts about the Kemper County plant. First, the $4.3 billion Kemper County plant has been plagued with at least a $1.9 billion cost overrun. Southern Company, the power plant’s builder, explains the overrun as a byproduct of “first-of-a-kind technology.” That is precisely the technology needed to meet the new EPA regulations. Second, the Kemper County plant has received a $270 million grant from the Department of Energy (DOE) AND a $133 million investment tax credit.
So we taxpayers get it in the shorts in the form of higher electricity rates and by paying subsidies.
But wait, there’s more! Here’s the irony part. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 5th report (AR5) states that “computer predictions for global warming and the effects of carbon emissions have been proved to be inaccurate.” And that “computers may not have taken enough notice of natural variability in the climate, therefore exaggerating the effect of increased carbon emissions on world temperatures.”
As David Rose wrote, “A leaked copy of the world’s most authoritative climate study [AR5] reveals scientific forecasts of imminent doom were drastically wrong.” Rose also wrote “Last night Professor Judith Curry, head of climate science at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, said the leaked summary showed that ‘the science is clearly not settled, and is in a state of flux’.”
Obama promised in 2008 to “fundamentally transform America.” He has certainly done that, and this latest regulatory fiat continues his efforts. And he hasn’t let little things like facts stand in his way! Irony or Ideology, or some of both?
