WE ARE all for a Fair Tax–Definitely need to get rid of the agents that are the Gestapo.
There is WAY too much fraud and terrible waste in spending. We had a refund due LONG ago,
sent our paperwork in Jan and now they say it’ll be another 120 days. Has been approved,
guess they need to use our money at no interest, but if it were us owing them it would be
interest plus penalty. NOT FAIR. Let everyone pay taxes–Fair share for all.

What I know or understand about tax law may as well be written in an ancient language & put in a thimble. However, it doesn’t take an expert to know that this division is grossly over staffed & headed by corrupt leader with bloated egos that seek gems for their crowns….and would lie about it in a minute.

The ‘flat tax’ (as I understand it) “sounds” good on the surface. But will do nothing to rein in the size or self adorned. It will create a hardship on those that have only a SS or SSI income. Any good would be miniscule.

“Fair Tax” is something that I’m learning about is beginning to appear, well, ‘fair’. As a Nation, we must, of course, have an income…just as you must have to pay your own bills…Again, as I understand, a ‘fair tax’ would not penalize successful hard work, nor over burden the average income earner.

QUESTION: How would transition be accomplished? Also what is a good source of information on both of these proposals?

“Quick-fixes” aren’t the answer, nor are knee jerk solutions. I don’t want to be a CPA but would like to have some FACTS.

  3. Zbigniew Mazurak says:

The ONLY solution to the problem is to abolish the IRS and the federal income tax, and repeal the 16th Amendment, PERMANENTLY – and only the FairTax (H.R. 25) would do that.

The flat tax would solve nothing. It would still keep the IRS with its 110,000 Gestapo-like agents and with its awesome powers – and would still be an income tax, i.e. one penalizing productivity. It would also keep the tax exemption option (501 (c) 3) for some organizations – and would still allow the IRS to decide who gets such tax exempt status and who doesn’t.

The flax tax is nothing but a distraction and should not even be considered. The ONLY solution is the FairTax, H.R. 25.
