The Associated Press reports that a U.S. military plane has crashed in Kyrgyzstan.
Kyrgyzstan is home to the Manas Transit Center – a U.S. base used for transporting troops in and out of Afghanistan, as well as for KC-135 tanker planes.
A Kyrgyzstan emergencies ministry official anonymously told The AP that the plane crashed Friday afternoon near Chaldovar, which is 100 miles west of The Manas Transit Center.
Ministry officials identified the plane as a Boeing 707, however the 707 is a commercial craft upon which the KC-135 tanker is based
The Associated Press reports that the plane broke into three pieces when it crashed. There have not yet been official reports of injuries.
