Have been around guns since I was born, began shooting @5, own guns now… never have one of my guns left my home and gone on a wild killing spree!

Okay, so instead of admitting that the murder of 20 children and six adults committed with weapons that were legally purchased is a cause for serious concern, you point out that someone did something bad without a gun, which is as interesting an argument as “Hey, look over there!” Those three guns weren’t purchased on the black market, they belonged to the shooter’s mother. And I know it might be my unicorn world view (good one, by the way), but I think that the problem may go deeper than the fact that the shooter had played Donkey Kong, listened to a Common record, and saw Freddy Vs. Jason. It may have something to do with the fact that he grew up in a household with guns. You blame society, well, fine, societal pressures can be huge, but to say that this is something that guns had nothing to do with, and to even point out that guns played a major role in this tragedy is not a valid observation? Thomas Jefferson said that the Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots. 20 children between the ages of 6 and 7 died yesterday and a big reason for that is the second amendment and what some people consider a divine right. But the blood sacrificed for that right yesterday is far too much, and it was far too young. And this won’t be anywhere near the last time. You mentioned at the end of your post that places where people are allowed to carry guns there is less crime. Okay, but this was a k-4 elementary school. Surely you aren’t suggesting that there should be more guns around kids. Right? Because that would be crazy. Also, when your right to carry a gun for whatever reason puts an onus on me to purchase a gun to protect myself when your gun falls (through no fault of your own) into someone else’s hands, then there is a serious problem. Your right should never become my responsibility. Also, Canada has far stricter gun laws and a far lower crime rate and they watch the same stuff as we do.

One more point, and this is just technical. Rush shouldn’t be smoking a cigar, he should be getting high on oxycontin. You know, verisimilitude and everything.

Let me clear it up a little more… A man in China just mass murdered 22 people with..”wait for it!!! “A KNIFE”.. Was it the knife that killed the people or the man???.. Criminals will find a way to get what ever weapons are available in the black market.. But your weak logic says I shouldn’t be able to have a chance to defend myself, my family and my home against these people… Guns are here to stay and taking them away from law abiding citizens only allows criminals to own gun, and we can see how that works out, by the high crime and victim rate where gun are banned compared to where folk have a right to carry. AHWWW but don’t let the facts get in the way of your unicorn world view… We have a Psycho problem not a gun broblem.

You’re very right, it is not the two guns with the capacity to hold large amounts of ammunition that killed people, but a DVD or a video game. Thanks for clearing that up.

Very to the point. After all what did one kid who did the Columbine shooting say… something about how in the video game the police didn’t arrive that quickly.
