Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, along with running mate Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI), will begin to receive regular intelligence briefings similar to those that President Barack Obama does.
The Associated Press reports that the final hurdle is clearing the security clearance process.
The Romney/Ryan campaign did not have to request these briefings, as they are customary once an individual has been officially nominated as a candidate for the office of the President.
