My Response To 12 Year Old’s Letter To Romney

Recently a 12 year old boy named Jackson Ripley wrote a letter to Mitt Romney scorching him and his policies. Jackson has a baby sister with a severe birth defect that is now being treated because of Obamacare’s allowing insurance to cover pre-existing conditions which were previously denied. Below is his letter followed by my response.

Dear Governor Romney,

I’d like to say congratulations on winning the republican nomination. But, I wish you stayed in Massachusetts. You’re plan for America isn’t what we need, and would hurt us more than it would help.

First, repealing Obama care and other health plans he’s put in place have helped families across America, including mine. I live in a middle class family, and two years ago my little sister; Kennedy was denied insurance because of her pre-existing condition. This was a huge emotional stress and financial burden on my entire family. Under Obama Care, insurance companies can no longer deny Kennedy and kids like her, the coverage they need and deserve. Because of Obama care my little sister was able to have the several surgeries she needed that helped save her life. Once the President was elected he put Obama Care into action, just like he promised and made it so that you could get insurance with pre-existing conditions. This has made a direct impact on my family. My family is with out a doubt better off now, than we were four years ago!

It is to my understanding that you stated that you were going to repeal Obama Care, including the part I have mentioned, which will take away the insurance we have and need for my sister Kennedy. Why do you think she doesn’t deserve health care? Also, when you were interviewed on “Meet the Press”, you stated that you would NOT repeal this part of Obama Care, but then your campaign backpedalled and on the “Tonight show with Jay Leno”, you said that you WOULD repeal this.

Also, you’re domestic plans (birth control, gay rights etc.) are horrible! Women should get to manage their own health, and if you wonder why you’re not appealing to many women voters, rethink your birth control and women’s’ rights plans. And people should be able to marry whom they want. We built this country so people could have freedom, and not have religious beliefs control them to that length. This country was in no way built on any religion, so we should not create laws that repress the American people in a religious way and hurt our most vulnerable.

Sincerely,
Jackson Ripley, age 12

Jackson, While I do sympathize with your sister’s condition and glad she is being covered, but you should understand that Obamacare is not fully implemented yet. If you want to see a policy that has a government bureaucrat come between you and your doctor to decide who gets what coverage and who doesn’t, then Obama is your man. If you want a healthcare policy where 70 years old is the cut- off date and your grandparents or parents when they reach 70 and need a heart transplant or bypass or treated for a stroke and are only given comfort care instead, then vote for Obama.

Jackson if you want to live in a country where you are a ward of the state and the government controls every aspect of your life then vote for Obama. Obama has already passed an executive order to have the postal inspector general register all of us. If you want to live in a society where 1 in 6 people are in poverty because of Obama’s policies then see that he is re-elected. If you believe in a society where our military is diminished and we have a president who bows to terrorists and kisses their rings then vote for Obama. If you think it is Ok for a president to sympathize with and invite terrorist leaders like the Muslim Brotherhood’s Morsi to the white house while ignoring our friends and allies like Netanyahu who is being threatened on all sides and turned away in favor of going on David Letterman’s then vote for Obama. If you believe in a president who is the most secretive president we’ve ever had and most corrupt president who had thousands of guns go to drug cartels in Mexico that killed two of our border guards then vote for Obama. Jackson if you support a president who in his next term will instill a policy where the government tells you how much you can make and puts limits on that like Obama will do with his “fairness check” policy he has planned then vote for Obama. The mid-east is burning, our ambassadors are being killed, Alqueda flags flown over our embassies and our flags burned because of your man’s policies while he diverts attention on a little known anti-Islamic film and goes over to Jay Zee’s and Beyonce’s house. A president who had investigators come to this guy’s house in the middle of the night to get him. Jackson how many more people and film makers will he arrest for expressing their freedom of speech.

Romney may not be the best choice and I disagree with him on some things, but I believe in freedom not slavery. My country comes first and Obama wants us to cease being No.1 and prefers us to be No. 30. He blames America for all the troubles in the world. He stated in one of his books that he would support the muslims and so far that’s what he is doing. Jackson there are other vey affordable insurance companies that have sprung up that will accept pre-conditions like your sister where you don’t need the government controlling you and them.

Obama says he cares about 100% of the people. No he doesn’t. He want s to control 100% of the people and healthcare is the way to do it.

  1. 12-year-olds can’t vote. I refer you to any Civics textbook out there.
I’ve lived in the United States my whole life, even the last four, and, no, the government does not control every aspect of my life.
Anyone with a memory that goes back a few years knows that Obama’s policies have nothing to do with how many people are in poverty.
While no one is happy with the gun walking adventure, I far prefer that to our let’s invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 in response to 9/11.
Obama doesn’t bow to terrorists. He has Navy SEALs and drones kill them.
By the way, not that I think there is any excuse for rioting and violence, but what did the dude who made the film expect? He essentially shouted fire in a theater where everyone has a machine gun. Free speech is great, and this guy did not use his responsibly. Did he burn down an embassy? No. Did he kill an ambassador and his staff? No. Should he feel fine about the method in which he chose to exercise his freedom of speech? Not if he has a conscience.
I do agree with you on one thing. Romney is not the best choice. Considering it is a choice between two people, your narrowing it done helped out a bunch.

  2. You keep telling Jackson Ripley to vote for Obama. Gee Skippy, you do realize that Jackson Ripley is 12? And can’t vote. Beyond that, most of your letter is ridiculous dreck.
