On Thursday evening, The House of Representatives passed a joint resolution that is a 6 month spending bill that will keep federal agencies running through the end of the budget year, and past the elections in November.
This bill was passed by a vote of 329-91, with 9 not voting.
This short-term budget band-aid allows the avoidance of a government shutdown at the end of the current fiscal year, which will end on September 30, by funding government operations until March 27th, 2013.
This bill will be before Senators next week, and is expected to pass.
