On Tuesday, a top Romney adviser said Fed chairman Ben Bernanke should be considered for a third term.
Glenn Hubbard, Dean of the Columbia Business School and Romney economic advisor, told Reuters TV, “Ben is a model technocrat. He gets paid nothing for getting kicked around all the time. I think they ought to pat him on the back.”0
Hubbard also added, “I may or may not agree with him, but that’s very different from saying I question his motives. I wish politicians would stop doing that.”
This is raising a few eyebrows due to the fact Romney has already stated that he would not reappoint Bernanke beyond 2014.
