“Speak the truth, or make your peace some other way”
What is it that causes Conservatives and Republicans to disparage, attack, or ignore one blogger, yet revere others? Is it the message that the blogger is trying to convey? Is it the target of criticism? Is it the manner in which the message is delivered?
I believe that the infighting stems from a combination of all of the above.
Naturally, when the target of criticism is a fellow Conservative or Republican, the reaction to the author is less than favorable. Most of us would prefer that the recipient of the critique be someone on the opposing side – the Liberals, Progressives, and Democrats. It is almost instinctive to defend our own ‘side’ against these essays; regardless of the author.
In order to defend our ‘side’, we must be informed about the realities of the players on our team. When a Conservative blogger makes an honest assessment of the current state of affairs of ‘The Right’, it seems that the writer is mocked, insulted, and banished from most social media circles.
If it is not the message that angers so many, perhaps it is the manner in which the message is delivered to them. I understand the desire to shoot the messenger, so to speak, but we must not kill the message that is being conveyed.
I am abundantly aware that I have been the type of messenger who has left a sour taste in the mouths of Conservatives more than once. My lack of articulation has been cause for speculation about my motives, and the absence of couth has been deemed classless at times. I have deduced with certainty that the “smashmouth” approach to these issues is bound for failure.
Therefore, I will be embarking on a brand new 3-Part series addressing the State Of The Right. Each installment will address the House of Representatives, The US Senate, and the Presidency. I will be addressing each of these with honesty, respect, and verifiable information. An honest assessment of The Right is paramount to our successes in the future, and I believe that this is long overdue.
The Installments will be released as follows:
