Independence Day after the ObamaTax ruling

On a holiday as important as Independence Day we must understand that this is our time. This is the moment, in which we realize that a blaze has been ignited by an imminent threat to our liberty; a threat disguised as a social program designed to “help” us.  The ruling of the Affordable Care Act as a tax; and therefore constitutional, is that imminent threat.

In the case of such unlimited power bestowed upon elected officials that seem to forget that they serve at our pleasure; it is important to look to our foundations, for guidance.  The Oath of Service that I took when I enlisted in the Air Force is a pertinent guide.  It reads:

The Oath of Office for the armed services

I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

So help me God.

The oath is helpful to read because of the words “against all enemies, foreign and domestic”.  The threat that America faces today definitely originates from the inside.  It is our government, out of control and running amok that is the tyranny at the door.

What should a nation do when faced with tyranny from the inside? America’s founding documents hold the key.  The Declaration of Independence has specific directions for citizens of the United States for just this circumstance:

That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

It is our Constitutional right to remove politicians that place themselves above us in a political class to rule us, instead of working for us as public servants.  We have slumbered too long, basking in the glow of freedom with the expectation that “someone else” would vote, and vett candidates.  “Someone else” would phone bank, donate money to non-profits, and work the polls on election days.  That “someone else” would ensure that our freedoms remained.

There should be no one left under that misapprehension after the disastrous ruling on ObamaTax.  The form of government most likely to effect the Safety and Happiness of it’s people is one that is small, efficient and controlled by an informed citizenry.

We must work to bring that government into reality.  Commit yourself to finding a candidate to support, and do everything that you can to help that person win. Give whatever you can to Mitt Romney. And above all, vote. Take a few people to the polls with you as well.

In 2008, Barack Obama said that we were “5 days away from fundamentally transforming America.”  The passage and implementation of the Affordable Care Act, now popularly known as ObamaTax, will be the final step in doing just that. The only way to stop this harmfully fundamental change is at the ballot box in November.  Now “someone else” is you.  Proceed accordingly.
