WaPo Columnist: Exercise Your ‘Civic Duty’: Suggest Vacation Spot for Obamas
It’s almost July and the president hasn’t yet announced his family’s vacation plans yet. So of course Washington Post columnist Al Kamen felt obliged to direct his readers to kindly offer suggestions for vacation spots for the laid-back commander-in-chief.
“[I]t’s time to do your civic duty by suggesting where the first family should vacation this year. Deadline for submissions is Friday, June 29,” Kamen told his “In the Loop” readers in today’s paper. “Our five favorite entries will win coveted Loop T-shirts — perfect for wearing on your own summer vacation.” Or for the 8.2 percent who are without work, on the unemployment line.
This isn’t the first time Kamen conducted an Obama-boosting exercise in crowd-sourcing. Back in October of 2011, Kamen pitched another great idea for voters to submit their phrase that would encapsulate the Obama administration in the history books. Think Reagan’s “Mr. Gorbachev Tear Down This Wall” or Kennedy’s “Ask Not” as prime examples, Kamen exhorted.
While the country faces enormous challenges, we are encouraged by members of the dead tree liberal media to dither and daydream about where to send the first family. I’m sure all the Obama zombies will be fast and furious in delivering their suggestion concerning the pressing issue of the first family’s next vacation on the taxpayer’s dime. I think the hometown of Brian Terry would be an appropriate destination.
I recommend the obamba family spend their vacation in a solitary confinement cell at the FCI in Florence, CO with the doors bolted and the key lost somewhere in the wilderness.
I figured Guatomino was the place for them. He has talked about it enough and I figure time to visit there for life! Take Holder , Clintons, Polisi, And rest of the cronies! Maybe the Whole Washington DC.
Maybe easier to put a wall around DC.!
Ignorant comments such as these are just one example of disdain for the black preseident. A president has access to media and staff 24/7. Obama is not on a not contact vacation. It is a working vacation. He is getting phone calls, e-mails, having conference calls, satellite conferences get real. This is a new era, not 1900.
Obama has taken less vacations than his pitiful excuse for a president bush, the worse predecessor anyone could have followed.
If obama went to kenya it would be ok. oh, and don’t forget he was not born there he would be just visiting family.
just goes to show you, like W.C. Fioelds said, “there is a sucker born every minute”. What was your time slot?
I suggest the lower depths of Hell…By the time he gets there his backdoor legistlation will have already cut off the coal supply to Satan’s boilers and will be a balmy 82*…..

I suggest the far side of the moon, that way they could enjoy a nice cool summer unlike the one that is heating up now in Washington.
