Translate this foundational principle of law to our constitutional federal republic, and you will see that the States granted limited, enumerated powers to the federal government through the U.S. Constitution (See Article V for the explicit grant by the States as States in their capacity as Principals)… the federal government then, is bound, as the agent of the States, to an obligation to effectuate those constitutionally delegated, specifically enumerated powers. Thus, it is when the federal government goes beyond these granted limits of authority that its acts become void and without the moral compulsion of popular obedience.

So, here we are… you must weigh the clear, plain text of the U.S. Constitution against the actions of the federal government, and determine whether the federal government’s actions pass beyond those delegated by the U.S. Constitution… if they do, then that governments actions are violative of the original purpose of that government… and prudence along will dictate a remedy.
