I see an arm bound in chains holding U.S currency. That alone could start a very wide-ranging conversation.
This painting speaks volumes to so many things going on in our country. As a mom of 5 children, I look at the mother holding her child, the sadness on her face. I can relate to that forlorn sadness. This country is not the same country I grew up in as a child. I long for those days, wishing I could show my children just a glimpse of the good ole days. And sadly, I’m still in my 30′s, so it wasn’t that long ago!
