Nov. 8th, 2011: Historic Ballot Vote to be Held in Ohio

In a little over two weeks there will be a Statewide ballot initiative in Ohio that is of major importance to every single American citizen. This should in fact, be a National vote for all affected citizens as opposed to it just being a State ballot vote due to it’s wide-ranging implications.

On Nov. 8th the voters of Ohio will go to the polling stations to vote on an attempt by Big Labor Unions to repeal the democratically passed Senate Bill 05, which was  signed into law by Governor Kasich back in March, 2011. ( Known on ballot as ** Issue 2**)

Before the ink was even dry after the signing of SB 5 into law, big labor was on the march, creating another community organizing group to demand the law’s repeal, this one with the catch-phrase title, We Are Ohio. I guess the 85% of the working folks in the State of Ohio that chose not to belong to big Labor Unions are now being told they are no longer Ohioans. If big labor Unions are Ohio, just what are the other 85% of the Ohio public supposed to be? Michiganders? Doesn’t their vote count too? Is this what the democracy looks like that Unions so love to chant about at these protest rallies that are designed to…..ignore the majority of the voting public and the laws that their elected officials pass? Democrats and their Union bed-pals are desperate to hold onto power in 2012 and that is exactly what this ballot initiative is all about.

I invite everyone to check out the above-linked We Are Ohio page. They put out what appears to be a white paper in a fact-checking form, yet their “facts” leave a lot to be desired. We will just visit one blaring piece of misinformation that proves that We Are Ohio is nothing more than a left-wing-big-Union-promoting-propaganda media outlet designed to fool the good people of  Ohio into repealing SB 5. ( Issue 2 on the ballot) Here is what the Union power-brokers would like you to believe: ( from the Union propaganda page, We Are Ohio)

MYTH: Public employees are overpaid, and their salaries need to be brought in line with the private sector.
TRUTH: A recent Rutgers University study found Ohio public employees earn 6 percent less on a yearly basis than their peers in the private sector. They earn 3.5% less on an hourly basis. The average OAPSE (Ohio Association of Public School Employee) makes $24,000 a year and retires with an average pension of $900 a month. Public employees do not pay into or receive Social Security.  ( emphasis mine)

In a scathing rebuttal to the ludicrous claims that Ohio teachers earn less than the private sector and “retire with an average pension of $900.00 a month, we see a retired Ohio teacher explain how the Union gimmickry is being used to against the Ohio taxpayers in a Columbus Dispatch editorial:

We had an administrator who retired at $80,000 a year, was rehired at the same salary he had just left behind, and then got another $40,000 a year from the State Teachers Retirement System, making him $120,000 a year. ( emphasis mine)

For the mathematically-challenged propagandists over at We Are Ohio, that equates to a pension of $10,000.00 a month, a far cry from the $900 that We Are Ohio wants you to believe. The retired teacher went even further in showing why he thinks this is bad for the taxpayers of Ohio:

So, when he was rehired, 85 percent of his $80,000 was paid by the taxpayers of Ohio. In this one simple action by the local school board, every taxpayer in our state was held liable for his salary.
Members of the public should have some say in the matter, since it’s their money.

I believe Ohio Senate Bill 5 would put the power of spending their hard-earned dollars back in the hands of the taxpayers, just where it should be. Submitted by, DAVID A. KUNKLER

Unlike the Wisconsin Union recall effort, conservatives are not taking this fight lying down and created a group titled Building a Better Ohio. On that website we see several examples like that of the retired teacher above that debunk the propaganda of We Are Ohio. Here is another well-explained example of just how disgusting the misinformation being put out by We Are Ohio truly is, from an editorial in the Canton Repository titled, SB5 Needed to Fix Bizarre Compensation:

Now let’s look at the “average Stark County resident;” bear in mind that public-sector employees are included in this average. If an average resident earns $25,285 and benefits provided by the employer cost $13,660, the total cost to employ the “average” county resident is $38,945, but compare that to a (Union) teacher in the Jackson Local Schools who has a base salary of $65,031 plus $23,895 paid by the “employer” (taxpayer), or $88,926 for a year of their “labor,” which is about nine months. (emphasis mine)

There we have it. An average Stark County Ohio resident’s total compensation, including wages and benefits is right at $39 grand a year, while a union teacher in the very same county ‘s package totals a whopping $89 grand a year for a difference of $50 grand a year. This is why responsible State legislators across America are scrambling to install some sort of fiscal sanity back into their budgets and curtailing big labor Union costs by passing laws such as Ohio’s SB 05. Now Unions are on the March to deny the working folks the right to say how there tax dollars will be spent once again.

Let’s hope Ohioans will vote YES ON ISSUE 2 on Nov. 8th. This will affect States across America if the good people of Ohio do not step up and vote yes, and conservatives across America should try to help out by making donations to help Building a Better Ohio    to help fight back against the big labor Union misinformation campaign now know as We Are Ohio.

What Is Herman Cain's Campaign Smoking???

I don’t know if this video is supposed to be a joke or not, but if it’s real, then how did it ever get approved?  I mean, really…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iefi-7qXpzk&feature=channel_video_title

First the obvious… What is up with the cigarette smoke at the end of the video?  Can somebody tell me?  Now the not so obvious… Did you notice the blinds swaying behind Herman’s head at the end of the video?  I’m pretty sure this thing was shot in a hotel.  Maybe even a Holiday Inn.

Okay, you know what I want.  Comments, people.  What do you think is happening in this video?  A lot of people have been scratching their heads to figure out this one.  Let us know what you come up with.  You can tell us in the comments below, on Facebook, or you can call my home phone.  I should be in after 7pm.

Steve Jobs Spent Final Birthday With Rupert Murdoch

Many people thought of Steve Jobs as a Liberal, and I can’t say that I’d blame them.  Al Gore is on his board of directors, he had offered to help Barack Obama create a campaign ad, and he was into all sorts of “hippie” stuff in his free time.  He even professed a love for the New York Times.  So imagine my surprise when I found out he was good friends with Rupert Murdoch.  How good of friends?  He joked that he would hide the knives in his house to protect Murdoch from his (admittedly) Liberal wife.  Upon learning this, I was fascinated.

Walter Isaacson’s biography of Jobs details the relationships that the gifted C.E.O. had with many titans of American business; from Silicon Valley to even the publishing world, Jobs was connected.  Steve was convinced that his iPad could do for news papers what the iPod had done for music, and as such, he had set about trying to convince publishers to create content for the iPad.  In particular, he was very worried about the New York Times.  He felt that they were declining, and that it was “important to the country” for them to figure out how to be successful in the 21st century.  He went so far as to make helping the New York Times “his personal project, whether they wanted it or not”.  Amazingly, the Times didn’t appreciate Jobs’s help, but do you know who did?  Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch was open to the idea of making a newspaper that caters to the “USA Today crowd” that is only available on Apple’s iPad.  Many critics have panned the newspaper (called “The Daily”), but in working on that venture, Steve and Rupert formed a friendship that many would not have expected.

Admittedly, Jobs was not a fan of Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity, but he felt like their shows didn’t represent the Rupert Murdoch that he knew, and as such he ended up developing an admiration for the owner of Fox News.  Steve found a kindred spirit in Rupert.  They both believed each other to be men who had created and grown large companies that had managed to retain their “culture”.  They lamented how companies like Sony had stumbled and failed in that regard.  They also shared a desire to change the school text book industry.  They saw that the future was in digitizing text books, and with Apple’s iPad, Jobs had a keen interest in seeing that happen.

I found this chapter in Steve’s biography to be very interesting, and if you read the book, I strongly suggest that you don’t skip past it.  One of my favorite lines is when Jobs discusses inviting Murdoch to spend his final birthday with him.  He tells of how he had to “make sure that Laurene (his wife) didn’t veto the plan”…

“It was my birthday, so she had to let me have Rupert over.”   -Steve Jobs

To Rebuild America Understand its Decline

To Rebuild America Understand its Decline
By Cameron Macgregor

Talk of American decline is widespread. High employment numbers, wild fluctuations in the stock market, the growing gap between rich and poor, and the S&P downgrade of US treasury bonds are all cited as evidence of our weakening power. This matched with America’s waning influence overseas prompts many to ask what a post-American world will look like. But few are asking why?

It seems people are either missing or perhaps afraid to address the central reasons for our decline, an awareness that is critical to rebuilding America’s prosperity and restoring its greatness. In fact, three pivotal ideas are primarily responsible for the decline in American prosperity and power.

The first and perhaps, the most destructive idea is multiculturalism. Multiculturalism is an outgrowth of the 1960s, an idea designed to help alleviate deep-rooted racial divisions. However, over time, multiculturalism evolved into something far more powerful than repealing segregation laws and destroying unfair racial boundaries. Eventually, multiculturalism symbolized a new American society, a “community of communities.” Multiculturalism rejected the idea that America is a nation that speaks one language, and it refuted the Western values that inspired the Republic and the free market that created our prosperity.

The results are disastrous. A recent study conducted by the Pew Research Center on rising wealth gaps in America paints a bleak picture. The economic gap between whites and the rest of the population is the largest in 30 years. From 2005-2009 black and Hispanic wealth fell by over 50%, while white wealth fell just 16%. The white population is nearly 20 times wealthier than blacks and Hispanics. The Pew Research Center unveils an America society that is increasingly bifurcated – a division that is not simply economic but cultural.

America’s cultural divides run parallel to its economic ones. Essentially America increasingly has a first world population and a third world population. The values, social orientation, and community participation of these populations are fundamentally different and in some cases conflicting. Adding to these divisions are the millions upon millions of illegal immigrant populations who frequently don’t speak English, live in balkanized neighborhoods or, effectively, countries within countries.

The second idea is big government. Before the Great Depression government on every level local, state and federal was a tiny fraction of what it is today. Today, government accounts for nearly 25% of GDP, an astronomical number. Government administers education, provides health-care for the poor and the elderly, is responsible for the retirement of 300 million people, regulates everything from Wall Street to Silicon Valley, and manages (or mismanages) countless federal bureaucracies, redistributive programs, contracts, and defense.

One of the many wondrous things that struck De Tocqueville when he came to the United States in the 1830s was the invisibility of American government. For this reason he appropriately said that in America “the state governs but does not administer.” Today, it does the opposite. Thomas Hobbes’ would be immensely proud of the size, power and intrusiveness of America’s “Leviathan.”

During the infamous battle over the debt ceiling, fear of default terrorized the nation. Obama promised doomsday if the Tea Party refused to be “reasonable” and continue enabling more spending. But few outside the Tea Party are alarmed that America has become a nation systemically dependent on big government, a tyranny Jefferson dreaded and Madison hoped to prevent.

The third bad idea is empire. It’s true, today America has nearly a thousand bases in over a hundred countries around the world – no matter how you spin it we are an empire. We maintain troops in central Europe and continue to occupy Japan while we wage wars in Libya, Afghanistan, and Iraq for reasons no one really understands and seldom bothers to find out. Of course, the president usually executes these wars without consulting congress, an irritant most presidents usually avoid.

In addition to commanding forces around the world American policymakers and our institutions play God with the internal affairs of other nations. We pick winners and losers, and usually end up creating enemies instead of friends. America’s meddling in the affairs of others is so extreme that during a February “Jasmine” protest in China the conspicuous presence of a US diplomat – one John Huntsman – led Chinese citizens and government officials to believe that Huntsman was secretly engineering the protests to instigate chaos in Beijing.

One might say that America’s empire exists more from circumstance than intent. That may have been true during the Cold War, but it would be hard to defend that position now. It has more to do with what diplomat George Kennan referred to as “national narcissism.” Kennan was right when he said that American foreign policy was more focused on reinforcing positive images Americans had of themselves than national interests. Americans believe that America, like its Navy, is a “global force for good.”

Yes, the divisiveness of multiculturalism, dependency on big government, and the wasteful cost of empire have finally caught up with us. To recover, rebuild, and re-unify the nation these ideas must be refuted and expunged from the institutions, policies, and especially the psyche of the American people where it has done the most damage.

The reasons for US decline are less policies or political parties than the ideas that animate them. Ideas possess an endurance that far exceeds the imprint of any president or congressional policy. We must stop fighting unnecessary wars, perverting American culture and values, and growing the size of government. Revisiting American history should give us hope because it is not our country that is failing but the perverse ideas that have defiled it.

We Can NEVER Stop Combating The MSM – Rich Already Pay "Fair Share" of Taxes

MSM, OWS, Obama Administration

The OWS gang and President Barack Obama want the “rich” to pay their fair share of taxes. With that “fair share” statement in mind, let’s (again) look at income taxes and who pays them. Why again? Because the MSM covers the OWS and Obama administration and promotes the “fair share” message. We can never stop broadcasting the truth! Combating the MSM can never stop because the MSM never stops.

Taxes

While it is true, as the OWS gang claims, that the “rich” are making more of the income (20%), they are also paying most of the income taxes (38%). Since 1980 the rich’s share of income has doubled, but so have income taxes. Those making at least $114,000 in 2008 (the last complete year from the IRS), earned 45% of the nation’s income, and paid 70% of all taxes. The top 25% of earners, those earning at least $67,200, took in 67% of the income, and paid 86% of the income tax total. The average income tax rate paid by those in the bottom half of the income scale is only 2.6%. Couple those facts with the fact that, in 2010, 47% of households paid no income tax. In fact, some in that group will be getting money from the federal government.

Tax Rates

One thing the MSM and Democrats love to focus upon is how tax rates have fallen for the “rich.” The latest manifestation comes in the form of the “Buffett Rule.” “[Last year] what I paid was only 17.4% of my taxable income — and that’s actually a lower percentage than what was paid by any of the other 20 people in our office,” wrote Buffett. Obama chimed in, “Middle-class families shouldn’t pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires. That’s pretty straightforward.” That is what the MSM reported, but they did not report WHY Buffett paid a lower rate. There are two fundamental reasons. Buffett makes a lot of money from investments, which are taxed at a lower rate than wages. And the Social Security tax applies only to the first $106,800 in wages.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, chairman of the DNC, said that we’re at the lowest tax rate since the 1950s. When Wolf Blitzer of CNN (no bastion of conservatism) pointed out to her that the “rich” pay a huge chunk of the federal income tax, Wasserman-Schultz responded, “But they’re still at the lowest tax rate since the 1950s.”

As can be seen in terms of who pays taxes, there is a big difference between taxes paid and tax rates. Besides, if some of the “rich” want to pay higher taxes in the form of gifts, they are free to do so.

The Deficit and “Tax the Rich”

To partially offset his massive overspending, Obama proposes to raise taxes on the “rich.” His class warfare plan can take him only so far since the rich don’t earn enough to make up the difference for all the spending he plans. The proposed Obama tax hikes, in the next ten years, will take almost $700 billion from taxpayers. That is only 8 percent of the nearly $9 trillion President Obama’s budget adds in debt over that same period. Low tax revenues are not the cause of the debt explosion, spending is.

Bush Tax Cuts

The MSM and Obama administration never tire of demonizing the “Bush tax cuts.” They contend that the tax cuts put more of the burden on the backs of the middle class and the poor. But that is simply not true. An analysis of Treasury Department data shows that the “rich” are paying more than they would have paid, not less, after the Bush tax cuts.

And they like to maintain that the “Bush tax cuts” favored the “rich.” In a static world that is true. But the world isn’t static, it’s dynamic. There was more investment, more hiring by businesses, and a stronger stock market. Comparing taxes paid under the old system with those paid after the Bush tax cuts, the rich actually paid a higher proportion of income taxes. The latest IRS data show an increase of more than $100 billion in tax payments from the wealthy by 2005 alone. Why can’t Obama and his economic advisors learn this one fact? But I guess it’s easier to promote “class warfare” by mixing apples and oranges, a static world with a dynamic world.

They also maintain that gains by the rich come at the expense of a declining living standard for the middle class and poor. Again, that is simply not true. The middle class (defined as those between the 40th and the 60th percentiles of income) isn’t falling behind or disappearing, it is actually getting richer. The lower income bound for the middle class has risen by about $12,000 (after inflation) since 1967. The upper income bound for the middle class is now roughly $68,000, $23,000 higher than in 1967. A family in the 60th percentile has 50 percent more real income (buying power) than 30 years ago. And the same thing is happening to the “poor.” Real income levels of the poorest 20% of Americans have actually risen. Economics professor Steve Horwitz explains why this is true.

Conclusion

The rich aren’t paying their fair share, they’re paying their unfair share. But the MSM, OWS gang, and the Obama administration ever let facts or the truth get in their way. And have you noticed that they (MSM, OWS gang, Obama administration) never cite references or analyze data? All they can do is repeatedly play the “class warfare” card.

But that’s just my opinion.

Skewed Values, Bad Result….

As we drive toward the 2012 Presidential election, one thing is clear – ‘we’ need to deal with some serious challenges, while at the same time resisting ‘our’ own tendencies toward dogmatic thinking. Our issues are not only being driven by an economy that is upside down, but worse, a Chief Executive who seems unable to grasp the divisive nature of his decision-making, whether it involves an insistence on ramming a clearly unappreciated health care agenda down the country’s throat, daily ‘Big Brother’ rants on YouTube, or apparent belief that he can channel the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jimmy Hoffa, Ronald Reagan, or Vlad the Impaler at will, while continuing to assert psychological stability with a straight-face.

In general, I have no problem with politics or politicians, instead preferring to ignore them entirely. However, during my 60 years as a student of history I have, nonetheless, experienced various positive and negative impacts associated with Presidential decisions by a number of modern American Chief Executives, ranging from professional managers such as Dwight Eisenhower, to intellectual visionaries like Jack Kennedy, clearly unethical Presidents like Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton, or spineless political wastrels like Jimmy Carter. But until now, I have never experienced Presidential decision-making that appears to be more directly threatening to the core premise of American culture than the current tenant of The White House.

My perspective is not based on party affiliation, nor is it a policy-based conclusion. Traditional party evolutions come and go, along with the election cycles they spawn. As a result power, money and focus of administrative goal-setting shifts accordingly. But, what we are dealing with now is something entirely different, and is highly disruptive to the body politic, because this President appears to avoid healing wherever he can, and instead seems to be entirely committed to creating as much upset and pain as he can inflict on his constituents.

In my experience, I have never seen a President end up on the wrong side of nearly any argument with the citizens he’s responsible for. Yet, over the last three years, Barack Obama has repeatedly told everyone whether it be friend or foe, “I won. I’m right, you’re wrong, and my personal opinion is the only opinion worth discussing.” As a result, it doesn’t matter if today’s societal and financial turbulence is driven by his culturally offensive decision to support the ground zero mosque, daily snide remarks about the majority of Americans who desire a repeal of his malignant health care boondoggle, or his resistance to traditional Democratic Party doctrine by picking up the pace of his ‘Remotely Kill a Terrorist A Week Victory Tour;’ its always about Barack’s needs alone, while at the same time, ignoring the desires and needs of the American people.

Frankly, at the risk of sounding like a political conspiracy wanker, Obama’s incessant Pravda-like rhetoric periodically smacks of some Machiavellian goal, based on triggering the second coming of Lenin. Perhaps I could understand his thinking if he was the President of Belarus, where that country’s political history offers a clearly Communist social experience. But, whether Obama knows it or not, America fought a series of bloody wars to destroy the dual political and financial evils of Fascism and Communism. So, why then, does this President appear to always lean toward the philosophies of Il Duce, Mao Tse Tung or Karl Marx first, as opposed to simply picking up the Declaration Of Independence for intellectual sustenance? Clearly, ’tis a puzzlement.

Regardless, America has always been, and always will be a self-healing social/cultural organism, if for no other reason than the Constitutional hard-stop afforded by a four-year Presidential election cycle. Having said that, however, I think this time around we shouldn’t bank on the result of the term-limit to get by. Instead we should become educated to just how bad this President has been for this country during the last three years, because another four years of ‘Obama In The House’ won’t excite our economy, put people back to work, drill our own oil and gas, feed more American kids, or get his highly pervasive Federal bureaucracy out of the ‘people’s business.’ The only way to effect that change is to vote for the ‘other guy’ next November, while insuring that the new Chief Executive will be driven by service to this country at large, rather than being just another self-aggrandizing cardboard cutout of what a ‘real’ American leader should look like.

Obama's 'Underwater' Homeowner Rescue Already Sinking

President Obama is travelling several Western states to talk up a re-vamp of his failed “Home Affordable Refinance Program” (HARP) in another big-government attempt to rescue homeowners who owe more on their houses than the real estate is worth.

Beginning in Nevada, the “We Can’t Wait” campaign is intended to show-up Congress while side-stepping them completely. Congress had passed HARP in an effort to help homeowners with troubled mortgages. The program promised to help about 5 million Americans, but in truth just  822,000 have been assisted – not even 10% of those upside-down on their home loans.

The new rules in “HARP Phase II” will loosen the rules on who can take advantage of the government program and reduce the fees the borrower must pay.

 Eliminating certain risk-based fees for borrowers who refinance into shorter-term mortgages and lowering fees for other borrowers;
 Removing the current 125 percent LTV ceiling for fixed-rate mortgages backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac;
 Waiving certain representations and warranties that lenders commit to in making loans owned or guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac;
 Eliminating the need for a new property appraisal where there is a reliable AVM (automated valuation model) estimate provided by the Enterprises; and
 Extending the end date for HARP until Dec. 31, 2013 for loans originally sold to the Enterprises on or before May 31, 2009.

In the original program, only those that owed up to 125% more than the property was worth could be accepted into the program. Now, there will be no limit to the amount the borrower may owe in relation to the value of the property.

If Jim, as an example, owed $250,000 on his house and the home was only worth $175,000, he previously would have  been denied a re-finance under the HARP program. Now, as long as Jim’s loan is backed by Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, he can be approved. This will put the taxpayers on the hook for a quarter million dollars with only 175k in collateral. Who runs a business this way?

The program is also expected to only provide minimal relief. Due to the 20 year maximum term for the refinanced mortgage, monthly payments may only be 20-30 dollars less per month according to an example provided by the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).

If the borrower chose a 20-year loan term at a rate of 4.25 percent (mortgage rates tend to be less for shorter term mortgages), the monthly payment would be $1238 ($26 less than the borrower currently pays) and the borrower’s loan balance would reach $160,000 in five-and-one-half years

The real purpose of the new program may be even more deserving of investigation. This program doesn’t appear to modify existing loans. Instead, it replaces one loan for another. It’s  a traditional re-finance with one major difference – Fannie and Freddie are letting the banks off the hook for any illegitimate loans they originated as long as they re-fi through this program. David Dayen at FDL puts it succinctly:

So, earlier, I said “what’s not to like.” Here’s what’s not to like. The “reps and warranties” part of this. When you refinance a loan, you’re essentially creating a new mortgage, unlike a loan modification, where you modify the old mortgage. Under the plan, the FHFA will eliminate their ability to force repurchases on these old loans, and they would lower their ability to force repurchases on the new loans created. There will be a “modest fee” associated with relieving these reps and warranties, according to Donovan, which won’t be set until November 15. They will be lower than the current risk-based fees that Fannie and Freddie charge.

What does this mean? A “reps and warranties” case is a case where the loan was originated improperly. When Fannie and Freddie get sold a bad loan like this, they have the right to force it back on the originator. New lenders are reluctant to refinance such loans, because they become liable for the put-back.

What this means is that FHFA will essentially settle on all the loans that get refinanced for a “modest fee,” which we can safely assume will be next to nothing. And we know that a substantial amount of loans, perhaps a majority, were illegally originated during the bubble years. You’re letting the lenders who originated the loans off the hook for that, in exchange for allowing more refis.

FHFA estimates that this program may double the current number of re-finances by the end of 2013. An additional $447 Billion to help perhaps another 882,000 home owners over the next two years?  That’s more than half-a-million dollars per re-finance. Remember, they aren’t giving them half-a-million bucks, that’s just what Obama’s program costs to service 882,000 loans by the FHFA estimate.

“We Can’t Wait” may be yet another attempt to do anything quickly, no matter how ill-conceived it may be. Of some concern is where did the money to fund this come from if Congress didn’t approve it?

At a cost of $447 Billion this is a bank rescue and a move to prop up inflated real-estate prices all under the disguise of helping home owners. This ought to push the Occupy Wall Street crowd right over the edge .. but it won’t – because it came from Democrats.

Repeat After Me: “I am a Marxist Puppet Preacher from NYU.”

NYU Economics Professor, Preaching Marxism at OWS

Watch this short video. Is it any wonder these many of these college age student-bots you see here can not get a job in the real world?

Meet professor Richard D, Wolff,  (preaching at OWS above) who[supposedly] teaches college students economics at NYU.  Mr. Wolff believes he has come up with a new plan to promote Marxist ideology from within the United States educational system. Mr. Wolff, like all Marxist professors, is trying to re-write the history of Marxism in an attempt to make it more appealing to America’s youth under the guise of “ a new approach to the political economy.”

This tired retread of Marxist ideology/propaganda is being pushed as “new and improved” under the title,  Rethinking Marxism. For a glimpse of just what this NYU professor is teaching college students today, I point one chapter of “lessons” from the  Re-Treading Marxism  page linked above, by Mr Rick Wolff:

From Economic to Social Crisis: Deficits, Debt and a Little Class History by: Rick Wolff

Throughout its history, capitalism never succeeded in preventing recurring economic cycles or crises.  That’s right kids, evil capitalism is the reason you can’t get a job with your college degree in the liberal arts of Zimbabwe.  Not everyone can be a fluffed up, lazy, overpaid-for-producing-nothing-but-anti-American-rhetoric-academic like Mr. Wolff .  Here is what you get from these career college kids/academics like Mr. Wolff-  All fluff and no production, as in never worked a job in his life. He started out with a degree in History from Harvard, to Economics degrees from Yale, and Stanford, to a PHD in economics from Yale, all of them acquired in the 60’s when preaching Communism was cool, just as hordes of dope-smoking hippies and wanna-be Communists at the OWS protests are now parroting.

Combining economics with history studies can be a valuable combination, especially when you are attempting to cloud the true poverty-inducing history of Marxism as they do in Rethinking Marxism.  To quote Mr. Wolff: ”  The world is being held back by the capitalistic system.”  Do away with the evil “board of directors” he says, yet it is these very same types of evil boards of directors that have approved his lifetime of making money for his speaking engagements and being a visiting professor of economics around the country and abroad, such as when he was in France.  ( albeit for a very short period of time in 1994) Again, I emphasize that this Marxist professor has never done an honest day’s work in his life. He has never applied all of his supposed economic brilliance to actually earn a living, in say running a manufacturing company or an investment firm. What he has made a lavish living at is student indoctrination and societal manipulation, just as his apparent lifelong mentor, the Socialist revolutionary Carl Marx did.

The similarities between Marx and Wolff can be seen in the following short biography about Karl Marx:

Karl Heinrich Marx (5 May 1818 – 14 March 1883) was a German philosopher, sociologist, economic historian, journalist, and revolutionary socialist who developed the socio-political theory of Marxism. His ideas have since played a significant role in the development of social science and the socialist political movement. He published various books during his lifetime, with the most notable being The Communist Manifesto (1848) and Capital (1867–1894), many of which were co-written with his friend, the fellow German revolutionary socialist Friedrich Engels.  Mr. Wolff relies heavily of retreads of Karl Marx’ book Capital in his current Rethinking Marxism propaganda campaign. If you look at the bio of Mr. Wolff here, you can see stunning similarities between his “career” and that of Karl Marx.

The last time I saw anything that parallels  the above video showing numerous adults parroting Marxism and anti-capitalism rhetoric was when I was in the second grade learning our pledge of allegiance:  The teacher would say repeat after me:  “I pledge allegiance to the flag…”   That example is of six-year-olds learning the words to our pledge of allegiance through repetition. Mr. Wolff is shown to be using the same form of “teaching” ( reprogramming is a more apt word for it) on ADULTS at the OWS protests to spread Marxist propaganda. How pathetic is that?  What is even more saddening is the fact that not one of those supposed adults listening to this bunk had the guts to call out the “esteemed professor.”  I know for a fact that if he had attempted this type of anti-American indoctrination at a Tea Party rally, he would have been denounced after the first Marxism-promoting line that came out of his mouth. The last thing Tea- Partiers are ever going to put up with is some self-important academic telling them, ” Repeat after me children, I hate America”  This is the difference between the Occupiers and the Tea-Partiers, and it is right out there for all to see. One group has a Patriotic love for America and the freedom she stands for and the other simply wants to tear her down and create some form of Socialist Utopia. Do you know which group is which?

Dartboard Vetting

If you aren’t furious, you aren’t paying attention. In case you’ve missed it, your money has been the fodder for some of the most poorly vetted investments ever, and not by Wall Street or the banking industry.

Thanks in part to this article by Doug Stewart ( @dmatthewstewart on Twitter) and further conversation on the growing list of failed Green energy investment projects during a recent interview , I have become completely convinced that vetting, if any, for funding potential Green energy products was performed by a few guys eating pizza and throwing darts at applications taped to the wall.

While not the first project to fail miserably, even after an injection of stimulus funding, Solyndra is probably the the poster child for failed vetting and cronyism, that are apparantly the norm for deciding where to spend taxpayer dollars. Add in Shepherds Flat ( which, we don’t even *need* to fund since GE HAS the capital!) , SunPower’s PAC action win , the EPA approved TR Auto Truck Plaza mess, The failed job delivery and inanity of the Fisker Motors investment, the likely march of the Chevy Volt into both fiscal and progressive failure, and the likelihood that Doug is correct about Alstom, and you have a laundry list of failures that exceeds anything that can be pinned on the private sector. Each of these investments inherently contained an easily verifiable history of risk that should have been a red flag for any review panel, if they had bothered to check into them at all ( or hadn’t been told to ignore the flags) I’d be willing to bet that the woodwork is crawling with plenty more evidence of the complete waste of taxpayer money due to non-existent vetting processes.

Johnathan Silver, the Energy Department’s loan program director, has stepped down, most certainly as a sacrifice to the indignant, but there needs to be full on public rage at this outright failure and deception by our government to even attempt responsibility with our economy. Silver’s resignation is an appeasement offering, and I am not appeased. It’s time to take the dartboard away and for us to get more involved in keeping an eye on our money. I have an idea of a replacement past-time..

What Delicious Irony: Occupy Wall Street Finally Makes a Point

The occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement is out to demonstrate that a community can work when the proceeds of the governed are collected by the government and redistributed as the collective sees fit. The mass of humanity at Zuccotti park in New York City have discovered what many in Cuba, the former U.S.S.R. and North Korea already know – it just doesn’t work.

In a post at The Gothamist we come to understand that the community account controlled by the OWS general assembly is not for distribution to the community.

Last night’s General Assembly meeting in Zuccotti Park was “one of most contentious ever,” in large part due to a heated debate over whether the drummers at Occupy Wall Street should be given $8,000 from the movement’s coffers to buy more drums and equipment. It seems some of the drums were stolen or vandalized, and the drummers asked the General Assembly to help them regroup. “We have worked for you! Appreciate us,”one drummer told the crowd, but the appeal was denied..

The general assembly has been collecting a tax on the drummers – up to 50% of their earnings according to reports. With more than a half million dollars in the fund that the assembly controls, where is the redistributive change?

Sure, the general assembly is paying for other things they find more important than the drumming – that’s the problem with this type of government. When you give the centrists more control, what happens when they disagree with you?

Imagine, if instead, the drummers were allowed to keep all of their income, replace their own equipment and run their organization as they saw fit? They might recruit more drummers and if they were indeed pulling in hundreds of dollars per day, wouldn’t that signal that they were effective in putting out the OWS message?

The trouble with the general assembly decision is deeper than dollars for drums. It’s who decides how the message goes out? Centralization means that you either agree entirely with the central government or you get left out.

This leftist experiment also demonstrates the problem with a highly progressive tax scheme. The most productive workforce at the park are taxed the heaviest and are slowly being put out of business. Their only choice will be to move to another park. Odd how the most productive businesses are forced to leave the home by progressive schemes.

If the actual intent of the OWS crew is to get a message out, why no money for the messengers? If the real reason is to prove that a larger central government and highly-progressive tax scheme are effective – they’ve simply proven the opposite.

Oh, the very delicious irony.

a quick h/t to Erin Haust (@erinhaust) who’s tweet alerted me to the drummer’s plight.

Muslim Brotherhood/CAIR Caught on Video Organizing Occupy Orlando

The United West investigative team recently went to the Occupy Orlando protests to try to understand just what the protesters were trying to achieve there. What they stumbled upon was quite informative, as you can tell by the following video:

This “Terror Alert” video will detail some “dots” that need connecting, in order to see the complete picture of what may be a move by a Muslim activist to take over control of “Occupy Orlando,” in the “spirit of the Arab Spring.”

For those of you whom are not familiar with Mr. Shayan Elahi , he is a Muslim activist lawyer who represented the father of the young Muslim girl in Ohio who ran away from home because she believed her parents would kill her for converting to Christianity. (Rifqa Bary) The United West folks know Mr. Elahi well, as they have had numerous confrontations with him before concerning. the Rifqa Bary case and attempts to install Sharia law into the United States judicial system.

The United West team sums up the Muslim Brotherhood’s involvement in Occupy Orlando event as follows:

Once we watched Shayan Elahi in action, running around, signing up speakers, providing direction, telling people what to do, we started to connect the dots to the stated Face Book Mission Statement of “Occupy Orlando,” which reads, “…we plan to use the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic of mass occupation to restore democracy in America.

So, here we have a Muslim attorney who collaborated with the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) in the Rifqa Bary case, the same CAIR that is an unindicted co-conspirator, the same CAIR that is HAMAS, the same HAMAS that was founded by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Huge hat tip to The United West team for exposing these facts about the Occupy Wall Street sister group, Occupy Orlando, whose protests  are being run by a Muslim brotherhood lawyer-activist. United West has vowed to continue to expose the Muslim brotherhood’s involvement in the Occupy Wall Street/ Occupy Orlando protests. Where is the Florida/ National media on this? They simply refuse to report on the fact that we see right on Video evidence of The Muslim Brotherhood taking over/organizing the Occupy Orland0 protests to turn it into an Egypt-style Arab Spring. (Picture at left is of Mohammed el-Baradei visiting the Muslim Brotherhood office in ..Cairo Egypt.) What say you Fox13 here in Florida? How about anyone in the media reporting on this  huge news story?
