Rick Perry Delivers a Bizarre Speech at Cornerstone

Rick Perry delivered a speech where his words were at time difficult to understand at Cornerstone Action Dinner in New Hampshire. He references Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 plan, Obama and much more – but perhaps not the way you would expect.

His debate performances have ranged from lackluster and sleepy to stammering and confused. He even admitted to Sean Hannity that “that really isn’t my thing”. I want every single GOP candidate to do well. We all need them to be strong, well-thought and able to take Obama head-on. That’s why we have to evaluate them at every second and decide – is this really the candidate I want to go up against Barack Obama?

I know it’s difficult to be perfect through all hours of the day, but when you know the cameras are on and the people are watching – you have to do better than this!

Perry still has some time (like 2-3 months) before the primaries so there is the possibility of picking up one’s game – he may have more picking up to do than he had planned.

While I can’t back up her up with proof, our office manager’s first thoughts when seeing the video were “he’s drunk!” – and she wanted him to take the nomination until she saw this.

I can’t in good faith only share one side of any candidate. If they do something in public, it’ll be here. I am still looking for the good things that Obama has done. The list is short and unflattering.

*udpate*

The Rick Perry Report seems to be defending Perry’s speech at Cornerstone by saying that it was one of Perry’s many “Yell leader” voices from his college days.

He was a Yell Leader at Texas A&M. For the couch potato bloggers, snarling down their noses at me and Rick Perry, let me explain. A Yell Leader at A&M requires a variety of voices to get a point across. They can be serious, angry, funny, engage in hyperbole, or anything else to get the crowd at Kyle Field to yell so loud that the opposing team cannot hear the next play that’s called.

While yell leaders may need many voices there are two problems with this defense:

1 – We aren’t electing a yell leader for football games

2- if we were, we’d hope that he knew which yell to lead when .. or something.

And yes, I understand that I’m criticizing a Republican. I think it’s important for everyone to see all sides of the candidates before voting – good or bad. I didn’t shove a microphone in front of Gov. Perry and make his say these things the way he did – he did that all by himself.

Obama, a Hollow Vision of America

As I watched President Barack Obama on the Tonight Show this past week I concluded that Obama represents nearly everything a post 1960sAmerica hoped for as a nation. Too often this brings to mind Obama’s racial makeup, which overlooks how nicely our president fills most if not all of the important blocks contemporaryAmerica demands of its politicians, and perhaps of itself. Indeed, Obama stylistically projects a vision of anAmerica everyone, at least in public, wants this country to be.

In a society frequently more focused on appearance than substance, Obama never disappoints. He is always calm, articulate, even soothing when he talks. He has a pleasing smile and seems to be well prepared for any exchange, however tongue and cheek. He masterfully controls his public space, never offensive, always on key. During the show I noticed that Jay Leno, though certainly not known for his tough questioning, never seemed to be interviewing the president, merely conversing with him.

If you were not one of the thousands occupying Wall Street, one of many business owners uncertain about the economy, or one of the millions of people currently out of work or unemployed, Obama’s performance made you feel good about your country. You might believe that this man, who seems so in control, sincere, and forward looking, is moving us in the right direction. After-all, who would want to believe that someone who embodies all that post 1960s politically correct America has to offer, is leading us on the road to disaster? Answer, not many.

It is time to acknowledge that Obama’sAmerica is crumbling, not just his presidency. College kids who parade around their campuses wearing T shirts that say diversity are immune to the reality that balkanized cities colorAmerica’s landscape, or acknowledge that ethnic wealth inequalities are at thirty year highs despite massive government wealth transfer and affirmative action programs. Those who praise Obama’s financial rescue or hisDetroit bailouts ignore the disserted communities that pervadeDetroit’s city blocks or claim to support Occupy Wall Street without a hint of irony. Meanwhile, Obama travels across the country rallying support for a second enormous stimulus package asWashington teeters on the brink of financial catastrophe.

It may be confusing to people who voted by the millions for “hope and change,” and a post-racialAmerica, and understandably feel let down. Yet, few of them seemed to question exactly what Obama stood for or how he intended to produce the results he promised. For them it was form that mattered, not substance, bringing us to another value celebrated by political correctness. Always be positive and preferably idealistic, even if there is absolutely no justification for it. I don’t think Obama’s optimistic appeal has fully worn thin yet either, just as the 1960’s vision ofAmerica has not yet hollowed out.

For this reason among others, pundits who dismiss Obama’s chances of winning re-election are misguided. Sure his approval ratings are down but people still personally really like the president, a factor that has played a major if not decisive role in virtually every modern presidential election since Nixon. Obama critics simply don’t understand that whoever runs against him is not merely running against a man, but a powerful vision of this country 60 years in the making. Obama’s iconic rise to the presidency was not just a vote against Bush but a vote supportingAmerica’s love affair with its own idealism.

Perhaps that explains why the other party seems so wanting when it comes to their presidential candidates. Notice I don’t use the term Republican because the GOP is on its way out. True Conservatives are finally reclaiming their party, but certainly haven’t retaken it yet. In spite of Tea Party opposition to the establishment, the Grand Old Party maintains control over who will get the nomination, and that means Mitt Romney will probably win.

The GOP likes him and the Tea Party hates him, neatly illuminating the fight between two conflicting views ofAmerica battling it out for control of the party. The GOP likes him because at the moment he is the closest thing the Republicans have to Obama, someone who is un-offensive, handsome, fairly articulate, moderate, and completely vacuous. Romney is all things to all people, just like his friend Obama on the other side of the aisle.

Unfortunately, when it comes to substance and change Romney doesn’t have it either. Like Obama he will say what he has to in order to be elected, but when it comes down to it Romney will dither and equivocate just as the system taught him to do. Intuitively, the Tea Party knows this, which is why they strongly support candidates like Herman Cain and Ron Paul. For all their flaws, Tea Partiers know that Cain and Paul are genuine, they stand for something. They are not part of the politically correct establishment responsible for creatingAmerica’s problems.

So what does all this mean? It means that Americans are in for much harder times until we choose reality over fantasy, substance over style, and honestly face up to our problems. Political leaders who really change things and improve society are not beloved by all because they paint a happy picture. Real leaders stand for something concrete, and oppose specific ideas or policies that are wrong. TheLincoln’s of our day are out there, but we must be receptive to them instead of fawning over a hollow vision of our country.

Herman Cain's "Smoking" Video Is Parodied AGAIN… This Time By Huntsman's Daughters

I know a lot of you have forgotten that Jon Huntsman was still in this presidential primary, but his daughters put out a campaign ad that you might be interested in seeing.  And it’s a riff on… you guessed it… Herman Cain’s “Smoking Man” ad.  Enjoy.

What do you think?  Is it even worth Huntsman putting out ads anymore?  Or was this still entertaining regardless of who produced it?  Let us know what you think in the comments below. Or… you can write your answer on a note card and leave it in my mailbox.  I was going to check my mail later anyway.  Whichever one is more convenient for you.  #CDNcares

Facebook and Closet Conservatism

As CDN’s Facebook presence has grown, I’ve been watching an interesting trend emerge – closet Conservatism in social media.

Closet Conservatives are those that agree with most or all of the tenets of the ideology but wouldn’t necessarily want their closest friends and relatives to know.

They may have several copies of the Constitution in various forms, have read the Federalist papers, know who Hayek and Keynes are – but they don’t want their inner circle to necessarily know of their interest in these things.

There are many reason to keep ones political leanings tucked neatly away. Perhaps their families and friends lean to the left or don’t have any interest in politics.

This behavior is well-known when face-to-face interaction is expected. It is considered common decency NOT to discuss politics at a bar or party. It is frowned upon to discuss politics at work – unless you work at an online political news outlet …

What I’ve noticed is that these rules of interaction seem to have been carried into the social media space.

While our fan page is growing very quickly and we are seeing high numbers of Facebookers “talking about” us, what’s interesting is how. While just about every single post is greeted with “likes” and some comments – sharing is done only by the most vocal – those who haven’t had any problem letting everyone else know what they think or that are already activists.

When someone ‘Shares’ a post, it – and the sharer’s comment – appears on their Facebook Wall and is broadcast to all of their friends through the FB News Feed. Alternatively, liking a post does not include the commentary that would signify approval or dissent.

That made me think back to my first few forays into Facebook. I had at first used my personal Facebook page to talk about baseball, shooting, the family and yes – politics. Some in my family are still stuck left-of-center and were put-off by seeing news and opinion from anything not to aligned with what the MSM had been telling them. At first, I actually gave in to the pressure and just concentrated on the fan page instead for political discussion – I was doing it too!

I’ve since gone back to discussing everything that is me – yes politics too – on my Facebook page and have shared my favorite posts from the CDN Facebook fan page – maybe a few of them will actually get a few of my family or friends that aren’t thinking about this stuff – to think about it.

Deadly East Coast Winter Storm Leaves Millions Without Power

The number of homes and businesses that have lost electricity in the North East has surpassed 3 million as a freakish October snow storm crossed the region over the weekend.

The storm dumped more the 2 feet of heavy, wet snow in parts of New England causing flight delays, traffic accidents and extensive power outages.

Governors across the area have said that those without power should expect to be without electricity for several days. The governors of New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts have declared states of emergency on their states.

Almost 75,000 have lost power in the New York City area where the Occupy Wall Street takeover of Zucatti park has been happening. With lows in the high 20’s to lower 30’s expected tonight, only a handful of protesters remain in the park.

In Connecticut, the storm caused more than 750,000 to lose power breaking a record set when Hurricane Irene’s remnants struck the state.

Three deaths have also been reported across the North East due to the storm. An elderly man was killed while napping in his recliner when a tree feel on to his house. Another was killed in a traffic accident and the third was killed when he stepped near a downed power line.

The forecast is for dry, but cold temperatures to remain for Sunday with a slight warm up tomorrow.

John Dummett and Liberty Legal vs. “Conservative” Media and Politicians

World Net Daily has just published a story involving John Albert Dummett and his quest to have Barack Obama declared ineligible to serve as President of the United States of America.  The suit centers around the “natural born citizen” status requirement as stated in the Constitution, the Naturalization Act of 1790, and an 1875 Supreme Court decision, Minor vs. Happersett (88 US 162).  This link will take you to the story for all of the details:.

John has teamed up with the Liberty Legal Foundation in this effort to remove what I see as one of the most insidious attempts to subvert the Constitution in this nation’s 235 year history.  The article points out that John has been given standing to sue by the 9th Circuit Court, the most liberal in the nation.  If that bastion of liberal thinking agrees with John there must be something to the case.  Where there is smoke there is fire and this fire is hot.

It has long been known that Obama is not eligible but was certified by Nancy Pelosi and other federal and state officials in what this writer sees as a totally unlawful and treasonous disregard for the Constitution of the United States of America and We the People.  The long form birth certificate issued by the White House is such a poor forgery that I can see it and I am not a computer forensics expert.

If the title of this article surprises you I can explain.  I expect the Democrats, especially the far left like Obama, Pelosi, and their ilk, along with the lame stream media, to ridicule and criticize this action.  That can be expected by anyone with ability to reason.  However, it is surprising to me how many “conservative” politicians and pundits dismiss this case, and those cases leading up to this one as nonsense.

I was listening to the Neal Boortz radio show this morning and heard sit-in host Eric Erickson ridiculing anyone who agreed with the ineligibility position and calling us all “nut cases”.  He went on a long diatribe describing “native born citizen” and attributed the parameters he stated to “natural born citizen”.  There is a great deal of confusion about this although I don’t know why.  I don’t have a college education and I understand the parameters just fine.

Other “conservative” media pundits, including Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, have dismissed the “birther” stand as nonsense also.  Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Ala), a 15 year member of the United States Senate, also dismissed the eligibility question stating that the State Department said Obama was eligible and the Constitution has nothing to do with eligibility to run for president.  HUH??? Apparently Sen. Sessions, in addition to not reading legislation passing his way, has also not read or does not understand the Constitution he swore an oath to uphold and defend. That problem seems to be rampant in both parties in Washington.

My question is: Why do they dismiss this so off-handedly?  I can’t begin to imagine how so many “conservative” pundits and politicians can dismiss a decision against Obama by an extremely liberal circuit court.  This decision could not only prevent Obama from running again, it could lead to everything he has signed being nullified.  Obamacare gone; czars gone; Elena Kagan gone; Sonia Sotomayor gone; what is there to not like about this?  On the surface this doesn’t make one bit of sense to me.

I think, however, that I can answer the question quite easily.  It has recently come to my attention that Mitt Romney’s father was born in Mexico, thereby bringing his eligibility into question.  However, as it relates to Romney, his father’s birthplace is the least of my objections.  Mr. Erickson also brought up Marco Rubio, the heir-apparent to the Republican throne, as another person mentioned as not eligible.  I have researched Mr. Rubio and found him to be ineligible also.  I have written about the Rubio case more than once.  The sad thing is that I really like Marco Rubio and everything he stands for.  Even though I respect and admire him, and his positions, my loyalty is to the Constitution first.  I have also looked into Bobby Jindal, another man I admire very much, but guess what.

The question here is: Do we follow the Constitution when it is convenient or do we live by its tenets completely?  I understand that the politicians have strayed far from the original letter and intent of the document and find it easier to do what is in their best interests rather than follow what our founding fathers laid down as the guideposts for our nation.  I don’t need any further explanations about what is wrong with America today.  We the People do not matter, power matters.  Both parties fight over who will control government with no regard for the people they are supposed to be SERVING.

Both parties have taken young Muslim men who can’t count to ten with both hands in front of them, set them up with fake bombs and targets, and then arrested them in the name of “Homeland Security”.  I think they call that entrapment!!  Officials hail themselves as doing a wonderful job protecting our homeland but are they?  Not in my book.  They break their arms patting themselves on the back for playing poor idiots as patsies.  The only two attacks I know about that weren’t planned by federal agents, the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber, were thwarted by private citizens alert to something amiss and the incompetence of the would-be attackers.

This isn’t only about Barack Obama; it is about politics and the corruption that permeates every pore of it.  This is about We the People once again gaining control of our future and restoring America as the “shining city on a hill” described by John Winthrop in the 1700’s.  It is about honor, integrity, and the rule of law.  It is about following the blueprint given to us by those who fought valiantly and defeated the strongest nation in the world at the time.

The Solyndra scandal is not the sole property of the Democrat Party.  Under Republican rule we had Enron, questionable money going to Halliburton, and on and on. Political corruption and vote buying has been a part of Washington as long as I have been around and I date back to the middle of the last century (1950).  Cronyism has long been the font of the ruling class, making sure those who give money to politicians of either party get their money back with interest.

Our forefathers, the men who wrote two of the greatest documents ever written, pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to establish the United States of America.  Generations of men and women have fought and died to preserve this nation.  We have strayed so far from what they established with the help of Divine Providence, that they would not recognize this nation today.

John Dummett is a common man, not a politician, not a wealthy wanta-be looking for a title to make him a legend in his own mind as most of the ruling class tends to be.  His desire is to live by the Constitution and bring this country back to its design.  I support him, as do many other “commoners”, the “country class” of America.  We have been ruled by the Ivy League know-it-alls for much too long.  Our nation has turned into a quagmire of evil, increasing poverty, class envy, and divisiveness by those who seek to rule rather than govern.  Both parties enrich their friends while promising We the People the moon.  You know the old saying, “divide and conquer”.

The goal of John Albert Dummett, Liberty Legal Foundation, and many common American citizens is to restore our nation to what it was designed to be, government OF the People, BY the People, and FOR the People.  God and our founding fathers gave us a wonderful way of life, full of freedom, full of liberty, full of promise, and what have we done with it?

It is up to We the People to take our country back.  Unfortunately we will have to fight a war on two fronts.  We have to fight the liberals, George Soros, and the “Occupy Wall Street” morons who aren’t smart enough to put two sentences together, as well as the so-called conservative media and politicians who do not want to give up their gravy train to those of us “too stupid to know what is good for us”.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the ruling elites are all around us.  They are found on both sides of the political aisle and until we get enough common people into office to blunt their agenda we are in danger of dictatorship and slavery.  Remember, it was George W. Bush and a Republican Congress that gave us the Patriot Act, a misnamed law if I ever saw one.  In the name of protecting us they turned the noose of slavery one notch tighter.

John Dummett and the Liberty Legal Foundation are working for us, the common citizen of all colors, all economic categories, and all ethnic groups.  They are trying to restore We the people as the arbiters of freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  We need to support them.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Heil Obama: Is This America’s Future?

We are finding the anointed one, Barak Obama, gaining confidence in his ability to circumvent the Constitution and Congress to implement any rule he desires.  In the last week he has gone on the campaign trail, at taxpayer expense of course, to tell We the People that if Congress is reticent in its willingness to implement the changes he wants that he will do it by executive order, in spite of what the Constitution says. He first suggested he would bypass Congress to implement new home loan guarantees backed by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, at the expense of We the People of course, and now has floated the idea that he will minimize payment requirements or forgive student loans by executive order.  Of course, when you get to the meat of the student loan idea it turns out to be a lie to deceive them.  Obama wants to bypass Congress to get the support of these student loan people but not really help them when the rubber meets the road.

I find it alarming that Obama sees himself as the only arbiter of law in the United States, and that he believes he can totally bypass Congress and implement anything he wants to implement.  Does anyone besides me see any similarities to despots around the world, past and present?  Obama’s own party has refused to consider his “jobs bill”, and they aren’t likely to jump into the middle of this rerun of the housing problem this close to an election.  I believe that Democrats in Congress, or at least most of them, see the handwriting on the wall and fear another shellacking like 2010 coming.  Have you noticed there are no sponsors of this “jobs bill” in either house of Congress, not even from Democrats?  If the Republicans, who only have 47 votes in the Senate, are willing to vote on Obama’s “jobs bill” why doesn’t Harry Reid bring it to the floor for that vote?  Could it be that Reid doesn’t want to put Democrats on the spot, knowing that this tax hike disguised as a “jobs bill” is a disaster waiting to happen?

I find it interesting that the same people who called George W. Bush a fascist support the government funding of banks, stock brokerage houses, and automobile companies.  When the government bailed out the automobile companies the unions received the bulk of the money.  Taxpayers and secured bondholders, those first in line by law, got the shaft.  When the government bailed out the banks and brokerages much of the money went to branches or subsidiaries outside the country, and what stayed in the country went to those in charge of the companies in the form of huge bonuses, financed by We the people.  Now the billions of taxpayer money that have been sunk into the phony “green energy” companies go to shareholders, people like George Kaiser, a billionaire and bundler for Barak Obama.  Kaiser says he never spoke to anyone in the Obama administration about Solyndra, and it probably can’t be proven whether he did or did not have those conversations, but it certainly doesn’t pass the smell test with this taxpayer.  Since the Solyndra scandal surfaced we find cases of other companies in the same situation and our tax money supporting those who have questionable ties to government officials.  Is this a case of crony capitalism helping with the process of destroying capitalism?

We face a danger not previously seen in my lifetime and too many people either can’t or won’t see what is going on.  The very people in the Democrat Party who decried the TEA Party, i.e. Barak Obama and Nancy Pelosi, as Nazi’s and violent angry mobs see the Wall Street protestors as patriots, true American heroes standing up for their “rights”.  It is truly amazing to me to see the contrast between the TEA Party rallies and this mob of morons.  When you look at the litter, public sexual activity, public nudity, open drug trafficking and use, defecating on police cars in the Wall Street protests, and don’t get me started on the interviews with the media, I find the contrast to the TEA Party rallies to be staggering.

The Wall Street nuts are a problem but not our main problem.  Those people are only the pawns, the “useful idiots”, of those who seek to enslave all of us, including those protesting.  I wonder why they aren’t in Washington protesting against the graft and corruption that is so apparent that they should be able to see it easily and clearly.

Governor Beverly Perdue of North Carolina, Jesse Jackson Jr., Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, and their ilk are also a part of our problem.  And how about the Congressman from Georgia, Hank Johnson, who is afraid Guam will “tip over and capsize” if we put too many Marines on it?

The people who have called for Obama to suspend elections, suspend the Constitution, and just “do what he needs to do” are part of the problem.  These people advocate the idea of throwing our system of government away to suit their Marxist ideology, with them in control of course.

Another part of the problem is the deafening silence from Republicans.  Obama threatens to bypass Congress, taking actions that are clearly outside his grounds according to the Constitution of the United States of America and they say little or nothing.  Why are they silent?  Are they afraid of being called racists or are they willing accomplices to his tyranny?  Anyone see Venezuela coming our way?

Governing does not include passing out edicts to get things done.  It seems to me we had a disagreement with King George III about edicts and became a free and autonomous country as a result.  The freedom of the United States of America was won, and has been sustained, at a terrible cost in lives and property but it was won because We the People decided freedom was worth fighting for.

Today we face the same kind of tyranny.  We find ourselves living at the whim of bureaucrats who make rules without any regard to the law of the land.  If they can’t get what they want by legislation they get it by fiat regulation and Obama ignores court decisions that don’t suit him, as in the Gulf of Mexico drilling issue.  We have politicians who pass legislation without reading the content and then tell us that they are doing this “for our own good” and that we “don’t know how to best live our lives”.

I have recently discovered that the federal government is going to take complete control of ALL radio and television signals for 3 minutes on November 9, 2011 to test the new National Emergency Alert System.  As an older citizen I am familiar with these tests as they have been going on for many years.  The difference is that instead of testing at the local level as has been done in the past this one is going to be a national test, controlled by federal government officials, with government agencies taking control of every signal emitted throughout the nation.  When the system was started the federal government notified state and local governments of an issue and they sent out the emergency notifications.  Now we have FEMA, Department of Homeland Security (what a misnomer), and other federal agencies in direct control of our over-the-air communications.

Is this an answer to the calls by Democrats for the suspension of the Constitution, suspension of Congress, and hints of the implementation of martial law?  Is this more preparation for use of the FEMA camps that have been built across the nation?  Add this to the attempt by Joe Leiberman and Susan Collins to give Obama authority to seize control of the internet on a whim (S. 3480) and you have a cocktail for disaster for We the People and the freedom we have known for generations, a freedom paid for in blood and death by generations of our predecessors.

The communistic style of government in America has been growing for many years while We the People slept. They seem to think they now have within their grasp the final step needed to take over our nation and install the tyrannical government they have been working towards.  Taken one at a time these things are frightening but when I put them together I find a conspiratorial plan to subvert our way of life, our form of government, and replace it with an oligarchy such as in Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other despotic kingdoms.

We find ourselves at a crossroads.  Do we continue down the left fork to tyranny, despotism, and slavery, or do we move over to the right fork and fight for freedom once again?  Obama, his 47 Czars, Democrats, and all too many Republicans are on a path to install the oligarchy they desire.  They believe they can do so without any real protest from We the People.

Will you sit idly by until you have no choice but to accept the globalist elites who desire to control every aspect of your life?  If you don’t have a job now you will when America is a dictatorship.  Of course it won’t be a good paying job, probably not a paying job at all, and you won’t have your own house, your own car, a bank account or the freedom to come and go as you wish.

I have seen the results of tyranny in many places around the world.  A nation can go from wealthy to poor, from freedom to slavery in a very short time once tyrants gain control.  We are not far from that point and when Barak Obama and his minions gain the level of control they want it is over for all of We the People, not just the rich.  As a matter of fact, if you look around, the rich are the ones who will come out good because they have the money to buy their freedom, I don’t.

It is past time to stand up and be counted. We can no longer afford to “hope” for “change” in a nation that is teetering on the edge of tyranny.  Acceptance of a mediocre candidate to oppose Obama is not enough to insure the freedom of future generations.

I submit this in the name of the Most Holy Trinity, in faith, with the responsibility given to me by Almighty God to honor His work and not let it die from neglect.

Obama – Hoist With His Own Petard

Perhaps President Barack Obama, when videotaping his weekly address, should, before opening his mouth, at least look at what his own administration is releasing. Obama made a demonstrably false statement about what has happened to incomes of middle-class Americans over the past thirty years.

On Tuesday, October 25, 2011, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released a report entitled, “Trends in the Distribution of Household Income Between 1979 and 2007.” The very first sentence (page 11 in the .pdf file) of this report revealed a fact that runs counter to the impression Americans get from the MSM about what happened to the average American’s income in the approximately three decades that preceded 2008, the year that Obama was elected president. It said that after deducting federal taxes, accounting for government transfer payments (redistributions of wealth) and adjusting for inflation, the income of the average American household had grown significantly in the 28 years from 1979 to 2007.   [emphasis mine]   “From 1979 to 2007, average household income, measured after government transfers and federal taxes, grew by 65 percent.” The “middle class,” BTW are represented (in this histogram) by the second, third, and fourth quintiles.

Said Obama during his Saturday, October 29, 2011, weekly address, “This week, a new economic report confirmed what most Americans already believe to be true: over the past three decades, the middle class has lost ground while the wealthiest few have become even wealthier.” He continued, “And this has happened during a period where the cost of everything from health care to college has skyrocketed.” But… the increases in income that the CBO documented were in inflation-adjusted dollars, meaning that each type of household saw its income rise over and above the level of inflation between 1979 and 2007.

It must really hurt to be “hoist with his own petard,” but Obama doesn’t care since the MSM will slavishly broadcast anything he says.

But that’s just my opinion.

Rep. Connie Mack Shakes Up 2012 U.S Senate Race in Florida

It is now official: U.S. Congressman Connie Mack has entered the 2012 U.S Senate race to challenge incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson in Florida. Long-time heavily entrenched Democrat Nelson was leading by a wide margin in recent polling against what many considered to be a weak field of inexperienced Republicans with little to no name recognition up until this point, which currently includes Army Col. Mike McCalister, former state Rep. Adam Hasner, former Ruth’s Chris Steak House CEO Craig Miller and former Sen. George LeMieux.

Connie Mack has both name recognition and a wealth of experience serving in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 – 2003 before being elected to the U.S. Congress in 2004. His father was also a former U.S. Senator. Mack is also a solid conservative who has has worked to support the free market system and reduce the size and scope of the federal government’s interference with our personal freedoms. Mack believes that the private sector, and not the government, creates new jobs, and he has been a vocal opponent of the countless financial sector bailouts, the failed stimulus plan and the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac takeover. He has also been very vocal in calling for the repeal of Obama-care.

While Mack has the experience of a total of eleven years of being an elected official, he also carries the air of a true conservative fighting against the big government agenda of Senator Bill Nelson’s Liberal Democratic party. It will be very interesting to see how Floridians feel towards Rep. Mack’s U.S. Senate bid in the upcoming polls. The most recent Shark Tank Senate Republican Primary poll shows Adam Hasner leading with over 51%, Col Mike McCalister in second at 26.5% and current Senator George LeMieux at 15.8%.

Currently, Adam Hasner appears to have had the most support from the Republican party in Florida, even though Senator John McCain threw his early support behind the Charlie Crist re-make in George LeMieuz whom Crist appointed when he was Governor. Fill-in Senator LeMieux is fading and will not be a real contender in this primary. Connie Mack’s emergence will surely take some support from Hasner, while also cutting Col. Mike McCalister’s chances for election dramatically.

Rep. Mack has a lifetime American Conservative Union rating of 93.3 percent and has been a prominent advocate for cutting federal spending. Mack spoke out against Arizona’s immigration law in 2010 which could prove problematic to many conservative Republican voters in Florida. In 2009, Mack also joined the misguided GOP establishment in supporting the Republican-turned-Independent-turned-Liberal Charlie Crist’s bid against eventual winner Marco Rubio in the 2010 U.S. Senate election.

Big Government Liberal Bill Nelson already has about $8 million dollars in his war chest for reelection, due in large part to his longtime connections with DC lobbyists and crony-capitalists that are at the very root of today’s massive national debt of $15 trillion dollars. Connie Mack’s conservative credentials should allow him to quickly raise enough cash to put up a stiff challenge for Bill Nelson’s current U.S. Senate seat in the upcoming elections, and as we saw in the 2010 mid-term elections, the candidate with the most money doesn’t guarantee them a win here in Florida. Should Mack defeat front-running Hasner in the primaries, then the 2012 Florida U.S. Senate race will simply come down to a choice of two candidates: Incumbent Senator Bill Nelson’s record of big government Liberal debt-spending vs. the solidly conservative Connie Mack’s message of a limited government that allows the free market system to enhance American freedom and prosperity for all.

State Medicaid Budgets Slashed / Where's the Outrage?

As we see President Obama currently campaigning across America and telling citizens that Republicans are out to hurt the poor, pollute the air and push Granny off the cliff, we see that the President’s administration is approving cuts to State medicaid healthcare programs, some of the them seeing as much as a 10% total reduction in funding. With medicaid costs soaring, many state budgets are on the verge of insolvency. Driven by higher enrollment and medical costs,  Medicaid spending was projected to rise an average of 11.2% in fiscal 2011, which ended in June, from $427 billion in 2010, according to the National Association of State Budget Officers. We were promised that healthcare costs would go down for everyone if Obama-care was passed into law, yet it is proving to do just the opposite.

For fiscal year 2012, the association estimated state Medicaid spending will rise 19%, largely because of the end of the federal stimulus dollars.

Medicaid enrollment has exploded in large part due to the mandates in Obama-care that has made healthcare insurance so expensive that companies could no longer afford to offer it to their workers. While the stimulus package was touted as a way to spur the economy through such things as “shovel-ready-jobs” a huge part of it was spent to shore up over-burdened State Medicaid budgets caused by, you guessed it, the passing of Obama-care. If this was not the case, then why has the Obama administration had to hand out over 1300 Obama-care waivers, which temporarily allows health insurers to offer low cost plans,( which is outlawed in Obama-care) as of May, 2011?

Using federal stimulus dollars to prop up exploding medicaid costs due to Obama-care forcing millions of more people to be put on Medicaid rolls was just another gimmick to try to cover up the truth about the Liberal Democrats so-called health-care reform. As the stimulus dollars dried up, states are forced to make steep cuts to their Medicaid programs. This will hurt folks who had health care insurance from work before the passage of Obama-care, but are now on medicaid, plus the poorest of the poor. Where is the outrage?

Check this out for just one example of what is being done to the poor people on medicaid today:  More States limiting Medicaid hospital stays. What stands out the most in that article is the fact that many States have already received federal approval to cut Medicaid budgets, yet those facts have largely been hidden from us. Arizona, which last year stopped covering certain transplants for several months, plans to limit adult Medicaid recipients to 25 days of hospital coverage a year, starting as soon as the end of October.

Hawaii plans to cut Medicaid coverage to 10 days a year in April, the fewest of any state.

Both efforts require federal approval, which state officials consider likely because several other states already restrict hospital coverage.

Many states will simply refuse to discharge a patient who needs to stay the full time in the hospital, and say they will just eat the extra costs, but how long will they be able to keep their doors open under that scenario? Where is the outrage about [Democrat] Governor Jerry Brown cutting hundreds of millions of dollars from Medi-Cal, with the Obama administration’s approval?  Where is the outrage ?

Los Angeles Times: California Gets OK For Large Cuts To Medi-Cal
The Obama administration will allow California to cut hundreds of millions of dollars from Medi-Cal, a move doctors and experts say will make it harder for the poor to get medical treatment. California plans to reduce rates by 10 percent to many providers, including physicians, dentists, clinics, pharmacies and most nursing homes, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced Thursday (Gorman, 10/28) Where is the outrage on how Obama and the far left Liberals in California want the poorest of the poor in California to go without medical care?

North Carolina is facing the same dilemma of medicaid budget cuts as California:

Associated Press/Houston Chronicle: Different Takes On NC Medicaid Shortfall Argued
Republican budget-writers and Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue’s administration quarreled Thursday over why North Carolina’s Medicaid program could face a $139 million shortfall this coming year. State health regulators told the Legislature’s chief oversight committee they’re falling short of meeting $356 million in net reductions for the division that oversees Medicaid, the government-run health care plan for poor children, older adults and the disabled. They said the savings are difficult, if not impossible to come by this year in part due to slow enrollment of the chronically ill in the state’s managed-care arm (Robertson, 10/27).

What has exasperated this problem is the fact that in the 2010 elections, Republicans were elected into governments across America and are now facing actual truth in numbers about their State budgets, many of which are mandated by law to be balanced annually. State budget battles are exposing the exploding medicaid cost-burdens being forced onto state budgets due to Obama-care mandates, and the attempt to hide these costs through federal tax dollars being  funneled to state medicaid programs through the stimulus package.

With Republicans holding a majority in the House of Representatives today, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid no longer have carte blanche to use federal tax dollars to hide the disastrous effects Obama-care is having on State budgets across America.  This idea that “everyone gets free healthcare” with the passing of Obama-care is now proving to be nothing more than a Liberal fairy tale heavily rooted in the denial of the reality that comes with Obama-care.  When Barack Obama says he will insure an extra 35 million Americans through Obama-care, he conveniently refuses to tell the people just who he will steal from in order to pay for it. He started the whole thing off by taking $500 billion dollars from Senior’s Medicare to pay for Obama-care, and he is counting on Seniors to be naive enough to believe it was somehow Republicans who were pushing Granny off a cliff, and thus con them into voting for four more years of Barack Obama’s thievery from one class of citizens to another.     2012 just can’t get here fast enough!
