A Deeper Look at Dangerous Streamlining Bill S.679 – Chief Scientist of NOAA

A Deeper Look into the Troublesome Aspects of “The Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011″…

* * *

Pay no attention to the men behind the curtain…
What’s the worst that could happen?…
There really are no ‘important positions’ that would be affected by S.679…

Don’t worry your pretty little head…

Supporters of the Back-Door-to-Dictatorship bill, or “The Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011”, as it’s euphemistically listed in the U.S. Senate, tell us there’s nothing to fear.

All this harmless act proposes is to “…free up the Senate so that it can focus on our country’s most urgent needs of reducing spending and debt,” according to the bill’s co-sponsor, Sen. Lamar Alexander, in a reply to this writer, “…rather than on confirming hundreds of junior positions in a president’s administration, like the public-relations officer of a minor department.”

Oh. Well, that’s a relief! If that’s all it is, maybe I shouldn’t worry my pretty little head about it. After all, what possible harm could come from our elected public servants relieving themselves from the onerous duty of rubber-stamping trivial, junior-level, non-essential posts that “are not involved in policy making,” as the good Senator pointed out.

When one reads the fine print, actually examines the job descriptions covered by S.679, a few positions jump out as not-quite-so “junior”.

Positions like the Chief Scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), for one example.

Still, not to worry, we’re told. “These positions are part-time advisory board or commission positions, or full-time positions that are not involved in policy making…,” the senator reassured.

The Chief Scientist of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration … a junior position? Not involved in policy making? Well, that’s good…

That may be news to NOAA, its administrator, the Chief Scientist, and probably President Obama himself. On the administration’s own organizational chart, the Chief Scientist answers directly only to the NOAA administrator.

According to an Oct. 2009 email by that organization’s administrator, Dr. Jane Lubchenco, agency was “Reinstituting and elevating the role of NOAA Chief Scientist, to be appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. As senior scientist for NOAA, the Chief Scientist will drive policy and program direction for science and technology priorities.”

Should we be concerned that the person appointed by the president into this scientific position, one which will admittedly drive policy, might need at least a cursory glance by the Senate? What’s the worst that could happen… that Obama would hand-pick a decidedly leftist, socialist-leaning progressive? Have we any proof he’d do that?

We’re probably shouldn’t count his recently-departed climate czar, Carol Browner, of course. The ex-Clintonian EPA head who ordered her staff to wipe clean her government office computer’s hard drive before she left that post? The very same day the agency was ordered by a judge to preserve electronic records? Though Browner was acquitted of any wrong-doing, in an apparent case of ‘geez, your honor, I didn’t know I was s‘posed to keep them records’, one has to question the timing of the action.

And we probably shouldn’t be concerned that Obama could again pick someone like Browner, with ties to the group ‘Socialist International’. Ties that were also swept clean after Obama picked her as his czarina. Up until a week prior to that naming, the site listed her as one of its leaders of their Commission for a Sustainable World Society. The group is highly critical of America, promotes global governance, and calls for a reduction of wealthy countries’ economies in response to climate change.

So much for a ‘more transparent’ administration. Unless ‘transparent’ means ‘vanishes into thin ether’…

But not to fret… we have no reason to suspect Obama would appoint a globalist, socialist, climate-scarologist, ‘America-is-evil-ist’ radical for the Chief Scientist position of NOAA. Not when that agency is seen as an authority in matters climatic. Not when the climate is being used as a reason to make vast, sweeping transformations in the way Americans live and work.

Surely he wouldn’t have two such radicals pushing to affect ‘change’ in America because of the global climate threat?

To hold that position, we also must overlook another of the president’s men, science czar John Holdren.

Holdren’s official title is Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Assistant to the President for Science and Technology.

Holdren has touted mankind as the evil cause of global warming… wait, we’re calling it ‘climate change’ now, after the bitterly cold and snowy years we’ve had.

Holdren has worked to discredit scientists who dared challenge the progressive stance of anthropomorphic climate change, those who use their data to suggest the recent warming period was cyclical, not dependent on mankind’s actions. Holdren has suggested such draconian population measures as mandated limited family size, forced sterilization and abortion for women who defy such limits by daring have extra children.

But regardless of whom Obama places in the NOAA Chief Scientist seat – or any of the more than 200 ‘junior, non-policy-making posts named in S.679 – we shouldn’t worry. None of these positions could possibly be affect significant changes in America’s energy policy or business regulations or everyday processes.

Even if the Chief made outrageous recommendations, America’s rule of law and reliance on due processes that would keep such progressive chicanery from taking effect. Right?

This particular administration, has a track record for bypassing the process in order to get its progressive objectives accomplished (ObamaCare, anyone?). Senate leadership of this and the prior session have shown not only an inability to impede that agenda, but an unwillingness to do so. Senator Harry Reid, and his cohort in the House, former speaker Nancy ‘We-have-to-pass-it-so-we-can-know-what’s-in-it’ Pelosi, rammed the President’s health-insurance agenda down America’s collective throats, despite vocal outrage from across the country’s demographic.

The current Senate, still under Reid’s leadership even if several seats changed party, offers little or no improvement if supposedly Republican Senators like Lamar Alexander and Mitch McConnell don’t oppose but actually co-sponsor such legislation as S.679.

One must ask – and I do – if the co-supporting senators have actually read through this bill? Or if they’re relying on the its sponsor, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to just give them the gloss-over?

One must also ask – and I do – why the senators seem so willing to hand over their responsibilities, which we sent them to the Capitol to perform in our stead?

Cap-and-Trade legislation failed to get through the legislature. Yet Obama has announced his mulish faithfulness to the progressive eco-agenda without needing the legislative branch, stating the old adage that there’s more than one way of ‘skinning the cat’.

By bestowing greater regulatory power to unelected bodies, like the EPA, and employing executive orders, the president has attempted to circumvent the will of the American people and Constitutional processes that give us voice in our own governance.

The Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011 threatens to streamline the American people right out of the process which our founders knew was necessary: the governance of the people, by the people and for the people, not the rule over the people by one man, unanswerable to the people.

America doesn’t need, or want, a dictator. But if we don’t all act – flood the Senate with calls, letters and emails telling them to drop S.679 – that’s exactly what we may end up with.

If We the People fail in our duty, sitting back while those we send to speak on our behalf give up that duty, then perhaps we’re only getting what we deserve.

Remember the Troops

Memorial Day is not just backyard cookouts and family gatherings. Take some time this long weekend to remember those that have gone into service for their country. No one asked them to. No one made them do it. They wanted to.

Give a few minutes out of your hectic schedule to listen to the music, look at the pictures and remember – if they weren’t defending us.. who would?

God Bless all those that serve and all who have served.

The CDN staff is putting together a special presentation for Monday as a tribute to our Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen.

Has been called the ‘most fiscally conservative Governor’ in the country
Has been called “the original Tea Party candidate” due to his stance and success on cutting taxes

Political Accomplishments
Cut the 10% annual growth in New Mexico’s budget by using his veto power as governor on half of the bills his first six months in office.
Earned the nickname “Governor Veto” due to his frequent use of his veto power.
Set state and national records for vetoes- a total of 750 vetoes while in office- more than the other 49 contemporary governors combined
He cut taxes 14 times and never raised them.
Left office as Governor with New Mexico being one of only four states in the country with a balanced budget.
Reason Magazine described his accomplishments in a 2001 articles in the following words:

“no tax increases in six years, a major road building program, shifting Medicaid to managed care, constructing two new private prisons, canning 1,200 state employees, and vetoing a record number of bills.”

A New Mexico paper wrote of him:

“Johnson left the state fiscally solid,” and was “arguably the most popular governor of the decade . . . leaving the state with a $1 billion budget surplus.”

In regards to his numerous vetoes, with only two of the vetoes being overridden, Johnson is quoting as saying they [the vetoes]:

“stemmed from his philosophy of looking at all things for their cost-benefit ratio and his axe fell on Republicans as well as Democrats.”

Supports simplifying and lowering taxes
Supports balancing the federal budget immediately
Supports “slashing government spending“, including Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security
Supports passing a law allowing states to file bankruptcy
Encourages fathers’ participation in child-raising- would allow federal funds and state involvement in these initiatives
This quote regarding Gary Johnson “on the issues” is from 2001. I would like to know if he still stands by allowing federal funds to be used for these initiatives.

Strongly opposes a federal bailout for any state
Opposes National Sales Tax or VAT
Opposes the war in Afghanistan
Opposes the Libyan Civil War
Has been opposed to the Iraq war from the beginning and continues to call for American presence to end in that country

Medicare and Medicaid
His plan would cut these two programs by 43% by turning them into block grant programs, giving control of the spending to the states. He says by doing this we will create
“fifty laboratories of innovation”.

In The Spotlight
February 2011- Was a featured speaker at C-PAC where

“the crowd liked him – even as he pushed some of his more controversial points.”

February 2011- Was a featured speaker at the Republican Liberty Caucus
May 5, 2011- Participated in the first GOP Presidential Debate for 2012
There is much to be said about first impressions. Before this first debate I had no idea who Gary Johnson was. Sadly, my first impression of him was not that good. If you read the article that I wrote the night of the debate you will see by the end of the night things were not as bad as in the beginning. After profiling him for this article there are a lot of things I like about Mr. Johnson. However, to quote the article above:

“Gary Johnson’s stance on this issue absolutely, without a doubt lost my vote if he had not already, when he discussed his pro-choice views. No thank you, Mr. Johnson! No thank you!”

This is one thing I cannot compromise on. If you have read any of my articles regarding mine and my husband’s journey to have a family you will understand why this is an absolute for me. I cannot and will not budge on this issue- ever! Life begins at conception. I cannot vote for someone who believes a woman has a right to choose whether or not she carries life or kills life.

Washington Post Creates False Conflict Between O’Donnell and NBC

Lawrence O'DonnellChris Mathews washed out and got replaced. Lawrence O’Donnell is quickly on his way to washing out and getting cancelled. To create a fake controversy, The Washington Post wrote a story about the conflict that wasn’t.

O’Donnell criticized the network that employs him for continuing to host Trump’s “The Apprentice”. On O’Donnell’s MSNBC show, “The Last Word”, he said, ““NBC has created a monster and it is called Donald Trump,” and he continued by calling the Donald “the most deranged egomaniac in the history of the NBC Entertainment division”. O’Donnell brought up the tired assertions that Trump is a birther and called the Trumpster’s actions sleazy.

Where WaPo comes in is in it’s attempt to raise O’Donnell to media hero status for having said such brave things against the NBC star.

After his very public broadside against his employer, he waited for a reaction. And waited. But there were no angry calls from NBC executives, no take-him-to-the-woodshed meetings at 30 Rock, MSNBC’s home. “We didn’t get a single call” from the brass, O’Donnell says, a sly smile breaking across his lips.

The non-reaction bespeaks either the network’s tolerance for self-embarrassment or O’Donnell’s critical importance to MSNBC.

Wow. The experts at creating straw men to knock them down, the Washington Post (you’ve seen the ridiculous “5 myths” crap from them right?), is now putting the absolute failure of a commentator that is Lawrence O’Donnell on a pedestal because NBC didn’t respond to him criticizing Trump??

The Washington Post is quickly becoming supermarket tabloid material. News Flash WaPo, EVERYONE is already criticizing Donal Trump. It was a show boat move on his part. He never intended to run. We all got that months ago.

Granted, the Post did publish it on Friday when everyone’s busy doing everything other than reading news. It still doesn’t hide that absolute bias that lives within the halls of the Post.

The Official Start of the Current Tea Party

“We’re thinking about having a Chicago Tea Party in July!”

These words were spoken from the floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange by CNBC’s Rick Santelli.

The silent majority became the “Not-So-Silent Majority” on February 19, 2009.

Ron and Rand Paul were speakers at the Boston Tea Party 2008 in December of 2007. There were also many rumblings and undercurrents from around the country calling for a rebirth of the Tea Party some time before either of  these events. For me personally, this day, this video goes down in history as the official start of the current Tea Party movement!

It had been building for a long time- within a 2 month period the 2 sparks of the Official Boston Tea Party 2008 and Rick Santelli’s  rant lit the fuse that became what we have today.

Pelosi Propaganda 101: Seniors Beware of Medi-scare!

Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, was back in the news headlines this week, after  a seemingly extended period where no one knew even where she was, let alone get her to discuss America’s disapproval of her Liberal agenda of the past four-plus years that she rammed down the throats of  Americans across the country. President Obama crammed through the now-titled Health-care reform that is widely know as Obama-care with Pelosi’s ramrodding in the House and Harry Reid’s refusal to follow long-standing Senate rules and procedures in the Senate. Obama-care was even passed illegally in the Senate bill, requiring Reid and cohorts to stuff it into a cash for clunkers bill to get it re-passed. Talk about slick maneuvering, and here we thought Harry Reid was just a token puppet of the left during the Obama-care debate…and he still is. Let’s get back to the San Fran Queen of Socialism and her recent crawling out of her cave to address the media, after Steny Hoyer pushed her aside during recent budget talks, shall we?

The picture on the left should come with a sound bite for all Seniors today. When the Democrats, led by EX-Speaker Pelosi rammed through Obama-care against the people’s wishes, they hit the toilet handle hard, and that big swoosh we heard was $500 billion dollars of Seniors health-care money going down the drain. That’s right Seniors, Democrats stole $500 BILLION dollars of YOUR Medicare dollars to give health-care to other special interest people that will be hand picked by Democratic operatives and appointees. The people who are now in charge of telling Seniors what health-care they can have, and just how much health-care they will receive, will be dictated to them by Obama appointees and assorted cronies. Isn’t that lovely? Seniors will not have any say in who will be running their health-care from here on out.

What drew the San Fran Nan out of her self-imposed media exile recently? The has the all-telling lies quotes from the EX-Speaker :

During her press conference on Thursday, Pelosi mentioned “Medicare” 22 times. During a press conference on Thursday, a beaming and re-energized Pelosi said, “We had a spectacular election in New York-26.”

This reminds me of when Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and company announced on election day 20110 about how their polls say they will hold the House of Representatives in 2010. How did that work out for you again Nancy? Here’s a refresher in case you have a selective memory, you and your House Democrats lost in “historic “fashion! The despicable democratic spin and the Medi-scare lies continueas reported over at article as we see this :

Medicare was a major factor in Kathy Hochul’s win in New York’s 26th district on Tuesday, putting the Democrats one step closer to their goal of ousting the new GOP majority after only two years.

“I fundamentally believe that the House of Representatives is in play,” Rep. Steve Israel (N.Y.), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, told reporters at a briefing Thursday. “The Democrats can win a majority in November 2012.”

So let me get this straight here, Pelosi’s Democrats take $500 billion dollars of Seniors Medicare cash to pay for Obama-care, and now they are voting for Democrats in N.Y. because of it? I don’t think so, Nancy and Steve. This sounds like more of that hope n change bunk, where Democrats are hoping that Seniors won’t realize how that change will result in less doctors accepting Medicare and Obama appointed cronies  will be saying just how much health-care they will be allowed.

Is The San Fran Nan likely to be back in power, should the “miracle on liberal street” occur in 2012 and Americans vote for the continued Socialism being pushed by the Democrats and they take the house? Not so fast:

Even if Democrats win back the House, it is far from certain that Pelosi would become Speaker again. Democrats need roughly two dozen seats to capture the lower chamber, but a slim majority might not be enough for Pelosi to become Speaker in the next Congress. Nineteen Democrats voted against Pelosi for Speaker in January, while Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.), who has been critical of leadership, missed the vote. (emphasis mine)

Let’s take a time out an inject some reality here please. Seniors will never be stupid enough to fall for this misinformation and propaganda about the Democrats being their supposed saviors, when they see that those same Democrats just stole $500 billion dollars from their health-care . Add to that the fact that hope n change has been exposed on all levels to be nothing more than the transformation of America into a welfare-nanny state ,( That is called Socialism btw) and common theft from the working class in this country to support the vote-block of uninformed people who are being told the government will pay their way in life. The government has no money, and the federal revenues Democrats are buying votes with is money that belongs to the working taxpayers of America, not a bunch of vote-buying Democrats who will stoop to “historic” levels to stay in power, no matter what lies they try to scare Seniors with. The Seniors ( my parents included) that I know, will never be so stupid as to believe the Democratic lies being told today. Common sense demands it. What say you Seniors?

Political Correctness Wins Again

Rise and shine, America!

Once again you’ve been had! Political Correctness has won yet again!

When will we learn? At this point I am thinking the answer to that question is, “Never”.

I was not aware that actually being in the vicinity of Christian symbols was such an overload to the sensibilities of those who are not Christians. Now, a 70-year-old tradition is thrown out the window in the name of appeasement.

No worries, though, America! A compromise has been reached! Now, students in Neptune Township, N.J., can walk down the aisle to receive their diploma without having to see…… wait! You will never believe what these high school seniors of the past 70 years have been subjected to! Are you ready? Two signs! Yes, we are saving these seniors and those who attend their graduation from gazing upon two signs! Such horrible things, I know!

So what were on these signs, you ask? “Holiness to the Lord,”  and “So Be Ye Holy”. Yes, I know! Cover your eyes, America!

Yet once again the ACLU has bullied their way in and the high school in New Jersey “compromised”. No, they didn’t compromise, they CAVED, plain and simple!

Every single one of our traditions and freedoms are being threatened. The more we bow at the alter of political correctness and sacrifice our freedoms we lose another foothold on this great nation. We are literally handing it over to the enemy. Yes, I said it… the enemy! ANYONE who wants to restrain our freedoms is an enemy!

I am not a Buddhist, but when I walk into a Chinese restaurant and see a Buddha statue it does not offend my sensibilities. So I ask this question: What if my child were going on a school-sponsored field trip and they go to lunch at a Chinese restaurant where there is a statue of Buddha. Should I file a lawsuit against the school district for offended the sensibilities of my child? Of course not!  I do not agree with their beliefs, but Buddhists are free to believe whatever they choose to believe. Who am I to tell them they cannot have their statue of Buddha?

We are weakening every facet of our society by allowing the disease of political correctness to dictate what we do. So you don’t agree with the statues, ornaments, signs or other things in a gathering place. Fine, you don’t have to agree with it. But is your mind that weak that you cannot just accept that someone else believes differently than you? Ohhhh yes, I get it! YOU want to infringe what YOU think, feel, believe and don’t believe on EVERYONE else! Political Correctness. It will surely be the death of this great nation.

If a sign offends their delicate little sensibilities, I wonder what will happen on this day- because ONE DAY, EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS that Jesus Christ IS Lord!

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
