Didn’t the article say that he maintains an apartment in his district? So there’s one. Next would be how is this a smear? Well,I don’t see dailykos going after this Guy’s policies. Just his personal life. Smells like a smear to me.

Since when is the truth a smear?

Hopper has had / is having the affair. He has left his wife and moved from Fond du Lac to Madison. His 26-year old girlfriend did get the job decribed at the pay raise specified.

Or is the “smear” that the DailyKOS recognizes that this Newt Gingrich, neo-conned version of “Family Values” does not play well in Fond du Lac Wisconsin?

BTW: How can you be in the Wisconsin State legislature if you cannot vote in your legislative district because you don’t live there anymore? Even congress critters are required to give the pretense of living within the district (within state in the case of Senators) by maintaining a house there even if 80% of the time they and their family living in DC, Virginia, or Maryland.

What exactly is the smear in Bowers’ email? Is it the part about the affair?

If so, that’s not a smear; that’s truth. In fact, when asked about the affair, Sen. Hopper’s office didn’t outright deny it, as they would have if there were no affair; instead Hopper’s chief of staff attacked the bloggers who broke the story.
