NOW Can’t Stand Up For Women – Too Busy Attacking the Rights of Unborn Children

For decades, most have known that the National Organization for Women (NOW) isn’t really for women as much as it is about the progressive agenda. In response to a recent Fox News request for comment, NOW publicly admitted that they are far too busy making sure people can kill unborn children to stand up for women being victimized by sexism in the media.

Fox News had requested comment from NOW in response to Bill Maher’s misogynistic, lewd attack on Sarah Palin. NOW first refused to comment saying that, “it was a ‘known fact’ that NOW does not correspond with FOX News..”[1]. Later, Lisa Bennett, NOW’s commuinications director put this inflammatory post on NOW’s blog (emphasis mine):

I’ve got a few things to say on the latest “controversy” getting everyone all fired up:

1. Listen, supposedly progressive men (ok, and women, too): Cut the crap! Stop degrading women with whom you disagree and/or don’t like by using female body terms or other gender-associated slurs. OK? Can you do that, please? If you think someone’s an idiot or a danger to the country, feel free to say so, but try to keep their sex out of it. Sexist insults have an impact on all women.

2. We’re on to you, right-wingers:

a. You’re trying to take up our time getting us to defend your friend Sarah Palin. If you keep us busy defending her, we have less time to defend women’s bodies from the onslaught of reproductive rights attacks ..[2]

It shouldn’t take much effort to understand the “reproductive rights” means abortion: killing the unborn. Sooo, Lisa is too busy making sure we can kill unborn children to stand up for women – who knew?

As a final note, Sarah responded to the NOW blog post:

By the way, I need NOW’s defense like a fish needs a bicycle. I don’t want them to defend me.

OH NO YOU DIDN’T!

Obama - Oh No You Didn't

President Obama is already on the campaign trail for the 2012 election. If you want my honest opinion, I would say his 2012 campaign actually started on January 20, 2009, the day he was sworn into office as President of The United States of America.

In the 2008 election, President Obama’s campaign slogan was “Hope and Change”.

On January 8, 2008, after winning the Democratic nomination, Obama gave his now famous “Yes We Can!” speech, which brought us a second campaign slogan from him.

As we move closer to the 2012 election, there is mounting speculation of who will be President Obama’s Republican opponent. Quite honestly, I believe we need to “hope for change” in the possible candidates on the Republican ticket.

Depending on the day and the poll, three names consistently are given as top potential contenders. Unfortunately, I am not impressed with any of these three options. All three are what I, and others like myself, consider “Establishment”. I believe it is time for a REAL change that We The People can believe in!

The ideal candidate should encompass everything that defines America. I believe it should be a candidate who has real-world business experience because America is the Land of Opportunities abundant! Business is one thing that has defined America as extraordinary, because here, no matter your economic or social background, you are given opportunities that citizens in other countries only dream of!

Managerial experience is an absolute must, in my opinion, for the candidate running against President Obama. Being in a successful managerial position means this person has taken a stand and made tough decisions when they have had to be made. I think about a family business where a family member has fired another family member because they were not performing their job duties. This must be one of the toughest decisions that ever have to be made! It is decisions like these, tough decisions, but necessary decisions, that define a true leader.

I believe the nominee should have a strong understanding of our military and the importance of military. While President Obama claims to support the men and women who serve in the military, he has shown very little proof of this. As the cliché goes, “actions speak louder than words”.

I could continue listing many qualities that I feel are imperative for the nominee who will run against President Obama, but I will save that for a different day.

What has caused the meanderings of my mind today has culminated into this article.

We are at a point in history where, quite honestly, so few of us actually know our history! If you do a simple internet search of “man on the street” interviews about current and historical political and world affairs, very few people interviewed know the answers to the questions that are asked.

However, if you ask the average person a question about the latest reality TV show they can not only answer the question you ask, they can give you the history of that reality show, the celebrities that are a part of the show, and everything about the history of the celebrity themselves. It is truly a sad state of affairs we are in when “The Situation” refers to a person rather than an actual situation!

The reality of the matter is the situation we are in as a country; we may have to think a bit outside of the box in this next election. I have contemplated this fact after a troubling conversation I had recently with my Dad. He believes that to actually win this next election, the Republican Party is going to have to run a “celebrity-type” candidate. He believes that Donald Trump fits this bill, due to the fact that he is a reality show celebrity himself.

Donald Trump does have the business experience, managerial experience, and has made many tough decisions during his business career. Personally, I do not believe he has always made the wisest of decisions, but in reality, who of us have? We all have previous decisions we wish we could go back and change.

I believe that Donald Trump is a very strong supporter of our military, not only of the men and women who serve our country, but also the established military, what the military stands for, and what their purpose is as a whole.

While I consider two of the above points as positive points for Donald Trump, there are many things about him that bother me as a potential candidate, but I’ll explore those if and when Donald Trump officially throws his proverbial hat into the race.

In contemplating the coming months, one thing is for certain! If we have to stoop to the level of reality TV personalities running for President so we will have a chance of winning, I have the perfect campaign slogan! In rebuttal to candidate Obama’s nomination “Yes We Can” speech, the Republican candidate’s 2012 campaign slogan should be:

“OH NO YOU DIDN’T!!!”
(Pronounced: o no you dit-ten)

It will, without a doubt, resonate with the young people of today! And this is the future of our beloved country?!

In Praise of Free Enterprise

My life was turned upside-down on the morning of February 12, 2011. The previous evening my wife and I went through a city that is blessed with the presence of a Der Weinerschnitzel. I have worshipped many times at the altar of this wonderful hotdog emporium featuring my all-time favorite chili cheese dogs and Polish sandwiches. I partook of both of these gastronomical delights along with a root beer and fries. The combo is one of the food industry’s greatest inventions. Life was good.

The next morning, February 12th, a day which will live in infamy in my home, I got a telephone call from the nurse at Dr. Sneezenblow’s office. She told me that Dr. Sneezenblow needed to meet with me immediately to discuss the results of my recent blood tests. Ten minutes later I was in his office with visions of Prostate Cancer swimming through my head. I knew a whole battery of blood tests had been ordered as a part of my annual physical but the only one I could remember was the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test – the test that would indicate the presence of Prostate Cancer. I was terrified.

I wasn’t left in suspense for long. The good news was that I didn’t have Prostate Cancer. The bad news was that I had Type 2 Diabetes. My first thought, after recovering from the shock of Dr. Sneezenblow’s announcement, was that chili cheese dogs and Polish sandwiches were things of the past. I was in mourning. The nurse interrupted my sorrow by pricking my finger with a lancet and then testing the blood sugar level in my heretofore hotdog infused carcass. Just to give you some perspective – 70 to 130 is considered to be normal. Anything over 200 is considered to place a person in the diabetic range. I registered in at a cool 494. The blood testing meter maxed out at 500. I almost blew the lid off that little electronic wonder! At that point I knew root beer and fries were also gone from my gastronomical routine. Life was definitely not good!

Now you might think that this article is all about some guy (that would be me) moaning about being victimized by his defective pancreas gland. Nope! I refuse to play the role of the victim. Catch the Eagles’ song about victimhood right here. It is a wonderful expose of the entire liberal woe-is-me victimhood mindset. Instead, this article is a celebration of the wonders of American capitalism, the free-market, and Yankee innovation that is the wonder of the world.

The good doctor laid down the law concerning my diet from that point forward. I immediately resigned myself to an endless round of green beans and water chestnuts. Then I got on the Internet and, armed with my new dietary restrictions, began researching how to cope with eating in the world of Type 2 Diabetes. It didn’t take long to discover that private enterprise, long derided by Obama and his ilk, has developed some amazing foods, devices, and technologies to allow their customers to successfully deal with both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The rest of this article is about some of these companies and the innovative ways they have addressed market needs within the free enterprise.

Dreamfields Foods is a manufacturer of pasta. Normally, diabetics would be expected to eliminate all forms of pasta from their diets. Traditional pastas score a 38 on the Glycemic Index. Traditional pastas also contain 41 grams of carbohydrates per serving. Any diabetic can tell you that watching and regulating carbohydrates is just as important, if not more so, than watching calories, sugar, or fats. But Dreamfields Foods, through a shining example of Yankee ingenuity, has created pasta that boasts an incredible score of only 13 on the Glycemic Index. And yes, their pasta still contains 41 grams of carbohydrates per serving, but only 5 grams of those carbohydrates get digested! The rest passes harmlessly through the body. Carbohydrates are just a form of sugar and when they are digested the blood glucose level spikes upward. Sugar spikes are what diabetics attempt to avoid. A good rule of thumb is that diabetics try to keep those sugar spikes below 180. With pasta that measures in at a very low 13 on the Glycemic Index and only 5 grams per serving of digestible carbohydrates, Dreamfields Foods has made it possible for diabetics to once again enjoy pasta. And that is a huge deal if you have diabetes. Dreamfields Foods saw a market need and filled that need through an innovative approach – exactly what the free enterprise system is designed to do. Imagine the possibility of a massive governmental bureaucracy inventing something as innovative as what Dreamfields Foods did. Right, it would never happen. In the world of the socialists some anonymous bureaucrats would devise a series of five year plans for the economy. And minus the economic stimulus of taking risks and potentially reaping rewards, there would be no incentive for industry to look for solutions in the pasta market.

Pasta without sauce is a non-starter and Walden Farms has solved that problem with another shining example of meeting a market need through innovation. What do the following foods all have in common?

  • Alfredo Sauce
  • Tomato & Basil Sauce
  • Garlic & Herb Sauce
  • Strawberry Spread
  • Raspberry Spread
  • Blueberry Spread
  • Apricot Fruit Spread
  • Apple Butter
  • Grape Spread
  • Orange Spread
  • Blue Cheese Dip
  • Ranch Dip
  • French Onion Dip
  • Bacon Dip
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • Blueberry Syrup
  • Caramel Syrup
  • Strawberry Syrup
  • Pancake Syrup
  • BBQ Sauce (Original, Honey, Thick ‘N Spicy, and Hickory Smoked)
  • Seafood Sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Chocolate Dip
  • Caramel Dip
  • Marshmallow Dip
  • Whipped Peanut Spread
  • Chipotle Ranch Dressing
  • Sesame Ginger Dressing
  • Thousand Island Dressing
  • Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
  • Raspberry Vinaigrette
  • Blue Cheese Dressing
  • Caesar Dressing
  • Honey Dijon
  • French Dressing
  • Creamy Bacon Dressing
  • Balsamic Viniagrette
  • Bacon Ranch Dressing
  • Italian Dressing
  • Asian Dressing
  • Italian Sun Dried Tomato Dressing
  • Zesty Italian Dressing
  • Russian Dressing
  • Creamy Italian Dressing
  • Jersey Sweet Onion Dressing
  • Coleslaw Dressing

Quite the list isn’t it? Okay, here’s the answer to the question. You can purchase any of those items from Walden Farms and each of those foods has zero sugar, zero gluten, zero carbs, zero fat, and zero calories. That’s right – totally guilt free! Imagine what Walden Farms has done for the diabetics of America! All of those foods had been taboo for diabetics until Walden Farms came along. Once again private enterprise recognized a market need and delivered magnificently within the free market system. You can rest assured that the Department of Agriculture, within a Big Government/Centrally Planned economy never would have developed this solution. Once again, free enterprise comes to the rescue. Thank you, Walden Farms!

Now what good is Whipped Peanut Spread if you don’t have bread to spread it on? Regular white bread is taboo for diabetics. Eating white flour is like injecting sugar straight into your veins. White flour bread has a Glycemic Index Value of 71. Anything above 70 is considered to be a High GI food. A score of 100 is the high end of the scale. Even whole wheat and multi-grain breads have to be treated with caution by diabetics. It is not just the flour. Manufacturers put sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, maltodextrin, honey, and assorted other bad ingredients for diabetics in their breads. So what kind of bread can a diabetic eat? Julian Bakery recognized this market need and came to the rescue. Julian Bakery offers a wide variety of breads for customers requiring special diets: gluten-free, high fiber, high protein, low calorie, low carbohydrate, wheat-free, and sprouted breads. Their products are carried nationwide by various retailers or you can buy their products online. Yet again the free market solved a problem! Julian Bakery saw a market need and came up with innovative products to fill that need.

When was the last time you saw Obama fix a problem? – Didn’t think so. Obama’s approach is to create a problem and then offer socialism as the fix to the problem that he created! To Obama and other socialists/communists the ONLY solution is government. Cradle to grave is their mantra.  What the vast unwashed masses of liberals with their hands out begging for their share of Obama’s Stash haven’t figured out is that by depending upon the government for their physical security that they have relinquished their freedom and liberty.

Obama and his socialist administration do not possess an understanding of the proper role of government. They seek to control people instead of liberating them. As John Locke said many years ago:

The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings, capable of laws, where there is no law there is no freedom. For liberty is to be free from restraint and violence from others, which cannot be where there is no law; and is not, as we are told, ‘a liberty for every man to do what he lists.’ For who could be free, when every other man’s humour might domineer over him? But a liberty to dispose and order freely as he lists his person, actions, possessions, and his whole property within the allowance of those laws under which he is, and therein not to be subject to the arbitrary will of another, but freely follow his own. (Two Treatises of Civil Government, II, 57: P.P.N.S., p.101)

In 1959 President Dwight D. Eisenhower asked his Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson, to have a conversation with Nikita Khrushchev on the subject of agriculture. The conversation, later recounted by Benson, took a sharp turn away from agriculture and veered right into the essence of liberty versus totalitarianism:

“Your children will live under communism.” Khrushchev said.

“On the contrary,” Secretary Benson replied, “My grandchildren will live in freedom as I hope that all people will.”

Khrushchev then retorted: “You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept Communism outright; but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of Socialism until you will finally wake up and find that you already have Communism. We won’t have to fight you; we’ll so weaken your economy, until you fall like overripe fruit into our hands.”

That is what Obama is doing. He is feeding us doses of socialism, knowing that one day we will wake up and find that we live in a communistic society. Note that Khrushchev pointed out how socialism will weaken our economy. That is the great danger to free enterprises like Dreamfields Foods, Julian Bakery, and Walden Farms. Socialism’s goal is to rid society of free enterprise. Socialism is merely a stepping stone to communism. And communism means no private enterprise. Communism’s goal is to exert total control over every aspect of our lives. Benson had an exact opposite view to Khrushchev’s concerning free enterprise:

Under our system there has been released great creative capacity, because we have been free, unrestricted. What have we achieved? A standard of living unequalled anywhere in the world. Not because we are smarter, not because we are more brilliant, not because we have greater capacity than people of other nations, but because we have had a system which is superior—a system which was wisely provided by the Founding Fathers. We must protect and safeguard that system. Sometimes we find people who almost apologize for it—the free enterprise system. Of course it is not perfect; it is operated by human beings, but it is the best system in operation in this world today. If we are wise, we will preserve it, we will strengthen it and we will safeguard it for our children and our children’s children.

Benson is not alone in his view of the vital nature of the free enterprise system. Here are some thoughts on this subject by other notable people:

Free enterprise has done more to reduce poverty than all the government programs dreamed up by Democrats – Ronald Wilson Reagan

And from another former president:

The government can supply no substitute for enterprise. – Calvin Coolidge

Yet another quote from Coolidge:

The wise and correct course to follow in taxation and all other economic legislation is not to destroy those who have already secured success but to create conditions under which every one will have a better chance to be successful.

Abraham Lincoln also spoke about free enterprise:

The strongest bond of human sympathy outside the family relation should be one uniting all working people of all nations and tongues and kindreds. Nor should this lead us to a war on property, or the owners of property. Property is the fruit of labor; property is desirable; is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. – Abraham Lincoln

Walter E. Williams pointed out the despotic thinking process of tyrants:

People who denounce the free market and voluntary exchange, and are for control and coercion, believe they have more intelligence and superior wisdom to the masses. What’s more, they believe they’ve been ordained to forcibly impose that wisdom on the rest of us. Of course, they have what they consider good reasons for doing so, but every tyrant that has ever existed has had what he believed were good reasons for restricting the liberty of others. – Walter E. Williams

The prominent economist Milton Friedman also chimed in on the subject of free enterprise:

The argument for collectivism, for government doing something, is simple. Anybody can understand it. ‘If there’s something wrong, pass a law. If somebody is in trouble, get Mr. X to help them out.’ The argument for voluntary cooperation, for a free market, is not nearly so simple. It says, ‘You know, if you allow people to cooperate voluntarily and don’t interfere with them, indirectly, through the operation of the market, they will improve matters more than you can improve it directly by appointing somebody.’ That’s a subtle argument, and it’s hard for people to understand. Moreover, people think that when you argue that way you’re arguing for selfishness, for greed. That’s utter nonsense.

Lew Rockwell made this inspired statement:

The larger the government, the more our livings standards are reduced. We are fortunate as a civilization that the progress of free enterprise generally outpaces the regress of government growth, for, if that were not the case, we would be poorer each year — not just in relative terms, but absolutely poorer too. The market is smart and the government is dumb, and to these attributes do we owe the whole of our economic well-being.

Ayn Rand tells us what happens when the socialists/communists win:

When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.

P.J. O’Rourke said it even more succinctly than Rand:

When buying and selling are controlled by legislation, the first things to be bought and sold are legislators.

On the subject of government bailouts Henry Hazlitt said this:

It is just as essential for the health of a dynamic economy that dying industries should be allowed to die as that growing industries should be allowed to grow. For the dying industries absorb labor and capital that should be released for the growing industries. It is only the much vilified price system that solves the enormously complicated problem of deciding precisely how much of tens of thousands of different commodities and services should be produced in relation to each other. These otherwise bewildering equations are solved quasi-automatically by the system of prices, profits and costs. They are solved by this system incomparably better than any group of bureaucrats could solve them. For they are solved by a system under which each consumer makes his own demand and casts a fresh vote, or a dozen fresh votes, every day; whereas bureaucrats would try to solve it by having made for the consumers, not what the consumers themselves wanted, but what the bureaucrats decided was good for them.

And finally, Walter Lippman ends our lesson thusly:

In a free society the state does not administer the affairs of men. It administers justice among men who conduct their own affairs.

The free enterprise system is closely tied to the principle of individual liberty. That is why we must do everything in our power to preserve it. That is why Obama must lose the 2012 election. That is why conservatives must take the Senate from the Democrats. That is why there must be a massive conservative uprising the likes of which has never before been seen. We are in a literal war for our freedoms and the freedom of our children and grandchildren.

I have a dream that one day the perverse philosophy of communism will be rooted out of our national consciousness.

I have a dream that one day government will shrink to the minimum size necessary to fulfill its constitutional mandates.

I have a dream that our children and their children will be freed from the mountain of debt thrust upon their shoulders by Obama and his like-minded minions.

I have a dream that the patriots of this nation will rise up and save free enterprise from the very brink of destruction and that the principle of working for what we get will reign supreme in our economy.

I have a dream that government handouts will cease for the lazy and that people, through their own good works, will voluntarily provide for the needs of the truly destitute among us – lifting both themselves and the needy with their generosity.

I have a dream that the philosophy of equal outcomes will be replaced with the philosophy of equal opportunity. May people choose for themselves what they will make of their lives and reap the rewards of their own hard labor.

I have a dream that we will elect a righteous president who will preside over us in full devotion to the Constitution of the United States.

I have a dream that the communists will be eradicated from the United States Congress through the power of an enlightened electorate exercising their rights at the ballot box without fear of intimidation.

I have a dream that the United States of America will fulfill its destiny as the world’s beacon of liberty and through its shining example lift all nations, all peoples, and all societies.

I close with the words of a hymn familiar to all citizens of these United States. It is a poetic prayer of supplication for the preservation of our precious liberties.

Our fathers’ God, to thee,
Author of liberty,
To thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s holy light.
Protect us by thy might,
Great God, our King!

Donald Trump for President

Donald trump running for presidentThe 2012 Republican nominee for President of the United States must be one who can defeat Barack Hussein Obama in the general election. This individual must be a political figure who may or may not be the one with the academic, professional, and personal qualities needed to guide this country away from bankruptcy and toward financial stability. Will the eventual nominee be capable of leading or will that individual just play the same old political games?

Based upon my fears of the future of my country, I am not secure in believing that The Republican Party currently in Washington, DC will work for the country and not self-interest. The energy and hopefulness following the 2010 midterms has disappeared. A true leader is defined as those with the courage to stand up with what is in the best interest of America. Continuing resolutions passed on a short term basis is not leadership. Flip flopping on the debt ceiling and welfare reform is not leadership.

Donald Trump is an American success story regardless of the complete agreement with his beliefs or business practices. The “skeletons in his closet” are not hidden and his flaws have been exposed. Social issues are his potential downfall with GOP voters but as we move into the important stage in America, economic and foreign policies must be the deciding factor. He has a net worth of at least $2.7 billion as of 2011 and this is a measurement of success in a capitalist society. (Forbes Magazine).

Although there is no debate as to his success, Donald Trump can be a polarizing figure. I would support him if he were to run. The key question in 2012 is what kind of country we want to become. The dialogue must be opened and honest as we move into the election cycle. Isn’t it time to get rid of political correctness and the politics that George Washington warned about during his Farewell Address? Join me as we move toward the 2012 Presidential campaign and decide upon the future of the country we love and respect.

Florida Moves towards Drug-Testing for Anyone Getting Tax Dollars

GOVERNOR RICK SCOTT COMMENDS
LEGISLATIVE ACTION ON DRUG TESTING,

ANNOUNCES NEW STAFF DRUG TESTING POLICY

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott applauded the work of legislative leaders to create mandatory drug testing for adults seeking assistance from Florida ’s taxpayers.

“I want to commend Senators Steve Oelrich and Paula Dockery, and Representatives Jimmie Smith and Chris Dorworth, for their hard work on this issue,” Governor Scott stated. “Today’s committee passage by the Senate of Senate Bill 556 has advanced this important policy, and I look forward to the House moving their legislation tomorrow.”

Governor Scott’s support for drug testing those who would seek taxpayer-funded assistance is consistent with promises he made before his election.

In addition, Governor Scott announced Executive Order 11-58. This order will require pre-employment drug testing for all prospective new hires of agencies within the Governor’s purview. It will also require random drug testing of all current employees, from executive leadership to part-time employees.

“Floridians deserve to know that those in public service, whose salaries are paid with taxpayer dollars, are part of a drug-free workplace,” Governor Scott said. “Just as it is appropriate to screen those seeking taxpayer assistance, it is also appropriate to screen government employees.”

Thank you Governor Scott and our Florida leglislature.  This is change the people of Florida can certainly believe in!

Dear Patriot,

Greetings constituents, fellow Floridians, and all Americans across our great land. It is again time for our weekly Congressional update. As I travel throughout the district, I certainly appreciate the feedback on these missives, and even the emails and support from those outside our district who are receiving these reports.

There are those who feel the issues facing America are not threatening, certainly not of immediate concern. As I did my regular Saturday morning run along Fort Lauderdale beach this weekend, I pondered a simple question: “Who is leading America?”

Four days earlier, on Tuesday, we faced a very telling vote in the House of Representatives to approve yet another short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the Federal Government for FY 2011. The previous 111th Congress failed in one of their only true mandates, to develop a budget. We have been operating on these short-term measures since 1 October 2010. I had previously given my support to the CR on 1 March 2010 after we had passed HR 1 in the House of Representatives.

This past Tuesday I voted “Nay” on H.J. Res 48, the second Continuing Resolution. I voted no because in the month of February we spent $223B, although the shortest month of the year, it was the largest ever deficit spending month in United States history. Just as a comparison, President George W. Bush’s biggest annual deficit was $400B. We are basically spending $4-$5B a day.  Therefore, the offer of $6B of spending cuts over a three week period was nonsense. Furthermore, the offered cuts were the cuts “preferred” by the Democrats—meaning we did not even put up a fight for what the American people desire.

The measure passed 271-158. 54 Republicans voted “Nay” and from this group we shall have the nucleus to make a principled stand.

The President appointed Vice President Biden as his “budget negotiator,” who then in turn departed the Country… so I repeat the question I was pondering: “Who is leading America?”

Gas prices continue to spike, some of the highest prices ever for this time period in America. Once again, we got a nice speech from the President, but we still do not have a visionary proposal to develop our full spectrum of energy resources in America. Energy independence is a national security issue, an economic issue, and would certainly stimulate job growth in America. We have heard time and time again that this kind of visionary thinking will take too long. Funny thing, I remember hearing back in the late 70s, 80s, and 90s that it would take ten years. Instead I know that we have sent $2B of taxpayer dollars to Brazil for offshore oil exploration…”Who is leading America?”

As I write this morning, my heart pours out to the people of Japan who are enduring an incredible aggregation of natural disasters, an epic earthquake, massive tsunami, and now a potential nuclear disaster. It is the discipline, determination, and faith that will sustain the Japanese people at such a critical time. My prayers go out to them, as well as for our brave men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces who again show their strategic flexibility to operate in the full spectrum of operations, this time lending humanitarian assistance, and exposing themselves to possible high levels of radiation.

As well, my heart goes out to the people of Israel who have endured so much in the way of terrorist attacks, yet continue to be castigated negatively as an occupier. This week, Israel suffered from a Hamas delivered, massive mortar attack emanating from the Gaza strip, seemingly emboldened by the “new” military regime in Egypt. For the first time in 40 years, there has been a recent transiting of Iranian warships through the Suez Canal, potentially delivering weapons. Furthermore, a high level Egyptian military official made a trip to Syria, the same time as United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was visiting Egypt.

However, most reprehensible was the egregious, maniacal, and animalistic attack on a Jewish family, The Fogels. I have yet to hear a statement of condemnation from our highest elected officials, perhaps they are not aware? The group claiming responsibility is the Al Quds Brigade which has ties to Fatah…”Who is leading America?”

Lastly, after some 2-3 weeks of hand wringing, we have decided to assist in combat operations against Libya. My question is simple, what are the objectives and who in Congress was consulted? We have seen entry into operations without a clear objective before; in the Balkans, Somalia and Lebanon. Is there a common denominator? Understand, you cannot conduct air operations without some type of ground coordination. So when will we introduce ground forward air controllers or similar personnel? Who will do the target coordination? Who is our Commander in this new combat zone front which has been opened?

Trust me, no one despises Gaddafi more than I do, but as a former professional military officer, I have concerns about “mission creep.” I believe that at the onset, the right response would have been the same as President Ronald Reagan’s back in the mid 80s to Gaddafi, a response which silenced him for some 30 years.

With all this happening in our country and around globe… “Who Is Leading America?” I presume he’s filling out NCAA College Tournament brackets and traveling to South America, Rio and considers these more important leadership challenges.

America is currently a leaderless, rudderless ship of state being tossed about the tumultuous seas of a volatile and chaotic world, and could soon find herself cast upon the rocks… for we have no one manning the lighthouse of principles. I am not a Navy Man but somehow I will figure out that helm, port, starboard stuff, and do my part to right this ship and set sail to the “Dawn of a New America.”

Highlights of the week:

– Monday, Addressed the League of Educational Awareness of the Holocaust (LEAH) teachers on the East steps of the U.S. Capitol. We also had visits from (3) families from CD-22 who brought their spring break kids along.

– Tuesday, had a visit from my military spiritual mentor, LTC(Ch) Pete Sniffin, who is about to deploy to Afghanistan. One of the Leavenworth 10 families, Michael Leahy, also visited and provided me an update. Also, voted no on H.J. Res 48 Continuing Resolution. Ended the day with an office call with the Jacksonville District Corps of Engineers updating our priority projects in the district.

– Wednesday, both Tuesday and Wednesday had several Congressional hearings, especially armed services. On Weds heard the Afghanistan combat theater update from General Petraeus. We also had a military personnel subcommittee meeting on health systems and defense health program efficiencies. The biggest surprise was a call from a very famous and popular Hollywood conservative actor. The evening wrapped up with the Congressional Black Caucus PAC dinner.

– Thursday, it was St Patrick’s Day and I wore a green tie. I was reunited with an old Army buddy Lt. Colonel Clayton Neal who is now an Army JROTC Commander for Olympic High School in Charlotte NC. I spoke with about 30 incredible future leaders of our Country on the East steps of the U.S. Capitol. I stood alongside my military personnel subcommittee Chairman Joe Wilson (R-SC) as we did a press conference speaking out against the appointment of former Maine Governor Balducci as the new “Military Healthcare Czar.” We had two armed services hearings; one on military personnel and the other on Law of War detention and GITMO detainees….the administration does not get it!

– Friday, I had the distinct honor of addressing the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, a crowd of more than 600 people. I shared the stage with a true American Statesman, Congressman E. Clay Shaw, who was presented with a Lifetime of Service Achievement award. Also on Friday, I addressed the Tax Council symposium at The Breakers and visited the Cralle Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment facility in Delray Beach to learn how their medical technology has been helpful in treating Traumatic Brain Injury.

It is my honor to serve you all!

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen

Obama, You Got Jimmered!

At the high end we have BYU’s Jimmer Fredette, a 2011 Naismith Award Finalist vs. Kenny Boynton, the Florida Gators’ defensive specialist extraordinaire.

Jimmer Fredette

That contest of NCAA basketball titans will be decided on Thursday in a Southeast Regional semifinal game. Meanwhile, we have at the low end one Barack Hussein Obama, whose love of the game is unquestioned – as is his lack of talent, vs. Rey Decerega, Director of Programs for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. The Obama/Decerega matchup has already been decisively determined. Decerega got all the bragging rights. Obama got 12 stitches in his lip from a wicked elbow tossed his way compliments of Decerega. The only other time Obama’s lip has found itself on the wrong end of an upfront and personal confrontation was the time it lost a round to a fly – see the accompanying photo for clarification.

“I learned today the president is both a tough competitor and a good sport. I enjoyed playing basketball with him this morning. I’m sure he’ll be back out on the court again soon,” Decerega said at the time of Obama’s on-court humiliation, sounding just like the public relations flack that he is. The understanding is that Obama had the ball, refused to go either left or right, decided to go “up the middle” – AND GOT CLOBBERED! Is there a lesson here? It couldn’t have been a whole lot funnier had it happened in a Leslie Nielsen movie.

While revealing his NCAA Tournament Brackets, Obama said of Fredette: “Unbelievable. Best scorer obviously in the country. Great talent.” We’ve gotta go with Obama’s opinion on this one considering the fact that he comes from the exact opposite end of the athletic spectrum. Perhaps he should send Fredette and Boynton out on a deep fly pattern. Oops, wrong sport! Anyway, back to the basketball/politics comparisons…

Boynton missed practice on Monday due to a slightly sprained ankle. Obama missed a war due to a career gone South – all the way to Rio. Fredette has been on the winning side of a game 32 times so far this year. Obama has yet to win anything – he’s a natural born loser. Boynton was named to the prestigious John R. Wooden Preseason Watch List in October, 2010 in recognition of being one of the NCAA’s premier student/scholars. Meanwhile in Kenya, the search for their lost idiot continues, “hope” is low. . .

Fredette has positioned himself to make millions as a NBA lottery pick. Obama just met with George Soros but to what end? $everal of u$ can gue$$ at $ome po$$ible rea$on$. Fredette used to play basketball in a prison against a team of inmates. Obama belongs in a prison where he can play basketball against a team of guards. Boynton was a McDonald’s All-American. It is widely suspected that Obama is anything “but” an American. Libya has a No Fly Zone. Fredette and Boynton have their meals prepared in a No Fly Zone.

Fredette and Boynton both made the Sweet 16. Obama is allegedly lucky Larry Sinclair was over 16 –Repeat, allegedly, for legal disclaimer purposes. Both Fredette and Boynton play like beasts. Obama knows that the Muslim Brotherhood is a euphemism for Animal Husbandry…Daaaaaaaaaadddddddy… Fredette and Boynton are both stand up guys. Obama, on the other hand, is a perfect example of Electile Dysfunction. Fredette and Boynton are going to New Orleans to weigh their excellence in the balance. Obama went to Brazil to balance the earth and keep Guam from tipping over.

Both Fredette and Boynton have submitted their personal records to the NCAA.

Kenny Boynton

Meanwhile, maybe the birth certificate is somewhere in Rio? Fredette looks like a baby-faced assassin. For the moment, the public can’t decide if Obama looks more like Barney Fife or Howdy Doody! Fredette and Boynton will both get off an airplane this week in New Orleans. Did you hear what Obama said when he got off the plane? He yelled “PRESENT!” Boynton steals the ball so many times you’ve got to wonder if it’s legal. Conversely, the fact that Valerie Jarrett decided last week that bombing Libya will improve Soetoro’s poll numbers doesn’t magically make it legal.

Fredette and Boynton are touring the country in style, making beautiful music on the court. Obama “Begins Latin America tour”??? I didn’t even realize he had released an album! What was it called? The Great Depression Redux? Fredette and Boynton watch their diets carefully. Meanwhile, in your guts, you know Obama’s nuts! Fredette and Boynton will face off in person in hoops war on Thursday. Did anyone else find it strange and disturbing to hear the president declare war from Brazil by radio? Yep, Obama literally phoned it in.

Fredette and Boynton are in perfect health. If Barack Obama could eat his own words he’d choke non-stop. The NBA is about to draft Fredette. Will the MSM start the “Dump Barry, draft Hildabeast” movement? We shall see soon enough. Fredette and Boynton play it one game at a time. Obama? –  Nothing like starting a third front and then going on vacation. Our two basketball superstars participated in pre-game planning with their teammates last weekend. Barry had a busy weekend, too; partying in Rio and all, though, he just didn’t have time to consult Congress. Boynton and Fredette are patriots. Obama? Save the Libyan Rebels! Save the Libyan Rebels! Save the Libyan Rebels! It’s like 1776 all over again!!! Isn’t it?

Both Fredette and Boynton support athletics. This naturally begs the question “Is Obama an athletic supporter?” Fredette/Boynton is the complete package. Meanwhile, Libya is part of the Obama stimulus package. It still has that “new war smell!” It’s crazy, Gadhafi bombs his own people, now Obama bombs his own people. The title of last weekend’s news stories should have read, “Nobel Peace Prize winner orders a missile strike against Libya.” – Or would that be too blatantly Orwellian? And Broke Insane Odumba had the nerve to criticize Bush?

Fredette and Boynton are multi-year stars. Barry “Skidmark” Soetero is a one-term president. Finally, Fredette and Boynton put a round ball in a round hoop. Obama has yet to learn that he can’t cram the ‘square’ office of President into the ’round’ hole of his ideology. If there is a lesson to be learned from this study in contrasts it is that the loser Obama has engulfed us in an international policy nightmare in Libya. Fredette and Boynton would never play a game that stupidly. Where is Erwin Rommel when you need him?

What’s So Scary About NPR? Nothing!

Joe Conason, a full-on liberal journalist and writer asked the question, “What’s So Scary About NPR?”. There doesn’t seem to be any relevance to the play “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” other than possibly the first act where Goerge tells a story of a college buddy that “accidentally” killed his own mother and father. Here, Joe is possibly putting the last nail in NPRs coffin “accidentally”.

Mr. Conason’s article wrests with the recent video where NPR executives are exposed as willing to accept $5 Million from the Muslim Brotherhood. Not only would they take the money, they joked about most Americans and their constitutional rights. What’s worse is that they may well have offered to shield the donors from American law.

When a man posing as Ibrahim Kasaam asked, “It sounded like you were saying NPR would be able to shield us from a government audit, is that correct?” NPR’s senior director of institutional giving, Betsy Liley, responded, “I think that is the case, especially if you are anonymous.[1]

Where Joe’s article takes the ridiculous and pushes it right off the ledge of sanity is when he first makes the assertion that NPR is fair and balanced:

It has been decades since NPR — one of the least-slanted and best-reported news sources in the country — depended for a significant part of its revenue on federal funding. The amount that congressional Republicans suddenly decided to ax on an “emergency” basis, around $5 million, represents not only a tiny fragment of the network’s own financing..[2]

NPR hosted animation - Learn to Speak Tea Bag

First, anyone that thinks NPR is the least-slanted and best-reported news sources in the country… is clearly a liberal – oh wait.. we have to remember that Mr. Conason’s most-known work is a book about Conservative lies about liberals (Big Lies – 2003). Secondly, what great news!! Here’s more corroboration that NPR does indeed NOT need taxpayers to pay for the content that most of us do not want. I guess the Republicans will have no trouble axing that funding since even liberal agree that NPR doesn’t need it.

To answer Joe’s bigger question – what’s so scary about NPR?  I say, nothing.  Nothing at all.  It’s not about fear. We aren’t scared of the imbalanced coverage, leftist drivel and liberal bias of much of the media and certainly not one mainly on AM radio. We don’t want NPR de-funded because we are scared of it, we want it de-funded because it’s our money and we no longer wish to pay for programming that we don’t like. I know this might be a surprise to you Mr. Conason, but that’s how free markets work. Create products or services that consumers want, or go out of business.

Florida Education Chief Resigns

Florida Education Commissioner Eric Smith resigned effect June 10, 2011 at the end of the current school year. Mr. Smith oversaw major improvements in Florida educational progress during the past few years. Hired in 2007 under the Charlie Crist administration, he lead Florida schools to an unprecedented  number 5 ranking in Education Week’s annual report. Mr Smith was strongly supported Jeb Bush’s original education reform foundations and most Florida lawmakers during the remarkable improvement in what has been a long-time bottom dwelling state in national education rankings.

Governor Scott released the following short statement today: “On behalf of the state of Florida, I thank him for his years of dedicated service,” he said in a written statement. The St Pete Times calls that a terse statement  here. That is the sad example of the common lack of journalistic integrity we see from the St Pete Times today. Bashing our duly elected Governor on a daily basis because the Democratic party lost in 2010. Get over it St. Pete Times !

Mr. Smith gave a fairly long statement stating Florida’s educational improvements in the past 4 years under his direction, and also had the following all-telling statement about the recent passage of Governor Scott’s Student Success Act:

“Last week, the Florida Legislature passed landmark legislation called the Student Success Act that will reform the teaching profession and allow our state to better attract and retain high-quality teachers and remove the low-performing teachers from the classroom.  (Emphasis mine)

While certain leftist so-called newspapers and paid pundits working for Democratic operatives have been bashing the new Student Success Act in every possible place down here in Florida, and are spreading misinformation about it, I would like them to dispute the above quote from a very distinguished educator who has worked here in Florida reforming an historically very poor performing school system. Governor Scott has a dedicated plan to ensure all of Florida’s children receive the best education possible by rewarding the better teachers with incentives to keep them here in Florida.   Beware that recently in the media certain mouthpieces among teacher’s Unions and Union-type groups are mumbling about a lawsuit against Governor Scott’s new Student Scuccess Act.  So much for looking out for our children’s right to the best education possible. Those types of people are shameless, self-serving concrete blocks around the taxpayers necks, out to block this progress by any means possible to further their power base through vote-buying schemes by paying for political campaigns with Union dues from members ,our children be damned.

LTC Allen West, telling it like it is.

Rep. West tells it like it is !

Congressman Allen West, (R-fl) pulls no punches in calling out the snippy little ankle-biters of the Left in the above video. This is what a real Conservative Patriotic American looks like folks.( a new CPA ) What you see is what you get, no false or misleading statements, just the harsh truths about the American political theater brought to you by the Liberals of today. West is a man that will stand up and fight for his core principles and beliefs, no matter the battleground. Florida has done this country a great service in electing this Patriot Warrior and former LTC who has put his life on the line while serving in the U.S. Military for 22 years. Liberal Socialsim pimps and propagandists like Ex-Speaker Pelosi and DNC operative Ron Klein, whom West trounced in the 2012 elections, are being sent a strong message here. West lost an election bid to Klein in 2008, but that didn’t stop him from forging ahead and making another run in 2010. West is fighting for American freedom for all Americans today in our Congress. Where is Democrat Klein? He is now a lobbyist for the firm Holland and Knight. We kick them out of our government, and they come back with millions of dollars in bribery through a lobbying firm to impose their will onto the American people through our government anyway. I quote Mr. Klein from here.

The wave of new rule-making “appears to create a lot of work and opportunity for businesses that want to make sure that they have a strategic business advantage in the future, that they’re planning for the future and that they can help
shape those laws and legislation as they develop.”(empahsis mine)

There is supposed to be a law against hiring yourself out to lobbying firms the minute you get booted out of Congress. They are supposed to wait one year before they infect our government with what amounts to nothing more than mafia-style bribery and graft. Big bad Chris Dodd (D- Conn), is already signed on to lobby our government for Hollywood also. So much for his fake integrity and lies.

Rep. West further continues his telling it like is it in the following video.  He questions as to why Obama did not condemn the murder of an entire  Fogel family in Isreal, including a 3 yr-old baby who has his throat cut by Hamas operatives from Palestine. Maybe Obama didn’t want to condemn them out of fear that his Hamas-run campaign HQ in Palestine would not continue to support him in 2012. Whatever the reason, President Obama needs to be called out for this, just so the people know the truth about his nonaction concerning that terrible tragedy! Rep. West fruther elaborates in this excellent video on how he will put his bet on the heart soul and faith of the American people in 2012, no matter how many billions Obama raises. There is a great message here for all voters in 2012.

Democrats Discover that One-World Government Doesn’t Include Them

One-World Governance Caution SignThe new World order and One-World governance: all countries participating in and living by the policies and rules of a single global government body. Recent history suggests that the United Nations is intended to be that governing body and Democrats in Congress just found out what that really means .. to them

In considering the Presidents decision to attack Libya, several Democrats  questioned the process Obama used in a Saturday conference call.

Reps. Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.), Donna Edwards (Md.), Mike Capuano (Mass.), Dennis Kucinich (Ohio), Maxine Waters (Calif.), Rob Andrews (N.J.), Sheila Jackson Lee (Texas), Barbara Lee (Calif.) and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D.C.) “all strongly raised objections to the constitutionality of the president’s actions” during that call, said two Democratic lawmakers who took part.

Source: Politico

With the ultra-left well-represented on the call, this was a call between the Dem-ist of the Dems and one would not have expected to hear requests for the impeachment of President Obama. As the Politico article makes clear, the reason for their anger is not the disregard of the Constitution – they got side-stepped and aren’t happy about it.

“They consulted the Arab League. They consulted the United Nations. They did not consult the United States Congress,” one Democrat lawmaker said of the White House. “They’re creating wreckage, and they can’t obviate that by saying there are no boots on the ground. … There aren’t boots on the ground; there are Tomahawks in the air.”

One-World government is happening and the Democrats in Congress can’t believe they would be unnecessary in the New World Order. Did they not understand the implications of decades of cow-towing to the U.N.? Have they only just now understood the vision of their great President? Have they finally grasped the fact that their Liberal Utopian fantasy would first require them to become useless and all governing power ceded to the U.N.?

Hillary certainly has no qualms with it. Congress is in the way of her and Bill’s dream of a “new world order” and the U.N. is the gateway.

Mrs. Clinton has been trying to get the United States to abide by the U.N. Small Arms treaty as a way to disarm our populace and Bill was Mr. U.N., global governance, new world order ..

The U.N. is just one more global body for Obama to bow to and Congress is finally seeing that perhaps it is not the best course of action for them – but as far as Congressional Democrats are concerned, the affect on the country is irrelevant.

Herman Cain: 2012 Presidential Profile

As far as a common sense true American Patriot and successful businessman goes, possible 2012 Presidential candidate Herman Cain has to be near top of the true conservative voters wish list. According to Mr. Cain’s website, he has now formed a Presidential exploratory committee.

Personal Information

(from answers.com*)

Born Herman Cain, December 13, 1945, in Memphis, TN; son of Luther and Lenora Cain; married Gloria Cain; children: Melanie and Vincent.
Education: Morehouse College, Atlanta, GA, B.S., 1967; Purdue University, Lafayette, IN, M.A., computer science, 1971.

Career*
The Pillsbury Company, Minneapolis, MN, vice president/corporate systems and services, 1977-82; Burger King Corporation, Philadelphia, PA, regional vice president, 1982-86; Godfather’s Pizza Inc., Omaha, NE, president, 1986-88, president/CEO, 1988–.

Conservative credentials or liberal RINO?

Back in the 90’s when Cain ran for the U. S. Senate, he was quoted by several groups at spofga.org** where we see the following things:

Herman Cain. He has served as the CEO of Godfather Pizza. He also has been endorsed by Georgia Right to Life. Herman Cain has identified himself with conservative causes. As a speaker, he articulates conservative values very well. Herman Cain has also made the cause of civil rights a major issue. Herman Cain favors Federal Government intervention in the work place on the behalf of blacks and minorities. Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herman Cain issued a glowing statement commemorating the Civil Rights Act of 1964, read it on his web site www.cainforussenate.org.

Government intervention in the workplace for blacks and minorities is proving to be unfair and problematic to businesses today, and is being used mainly by liberals to enhance their voting base.  This could explain why Cain tries to avoid showing his true colors on social issues so far.

From the same article referencing Cain’s lack of conservative creds in the late 90’s** we see this troubling statement:

“He wasn’t in favor of doing away with affirmative-action programs that treat one class of people special and discriminate against another class of people, so what WOULD happen if a bill was introduced in Congress on that issue? Hmmmmmm..”

Mr. Cain wanted  to run against GWB in 1999, and when his own run against Bush fizzled, Cain endorsed Steve Forbes, who was (and, likely, still is) known to be quite moderate on the abortion issue and continued his anti-Bush campaign, saying that by electing Bush, Republicans will have “shortchanged ourselves as a party.” (Source: Conservative News Service, July 1, 1999) Statements like these could show Cain to be kind of a renegade against the old guard GOP of today, which could enhance his Teaparty creds, but at what expense would this come to towards his GOP creds in looking for any RNC support? For a person who has been very politically active and worked in various positions with such GOP heavyweights as Newt Gingrich and Bob Dole, Mr. Cain has never won an election in his life. He failed in a 2004 Senate run back in Georgia in his only real campaign.  When people try to separate the fiscal conservative issues from the social issues, as Cain does, they are basically in denial of the fact that social issues can have a  dramatic effect on fiscal issues. For example, welfare will cost us over $10 trillion dollars under Obama’s tenure. ***   That is the cost of producing a nanny state, directly the result of Liberals and GOP Rino’s irresponsibility. No wonder Mr. Cain avoids discussing the social issues today.

Mr. Cain has an interesting, seemingly libertarian, anti-governmental view on energy with this recent statement:  ” We have a path to energy independence in this country and it just baffles me as to why the leadership of either party in Congress or the White House doesn’t pursue it,” said Cain. “We simply need to remove the regulatory barriers and stop overreacting to the concerns of the environmentalists.”  That could also qualify as a decent conservative view, if it was further explained as to exactly how we would completely remove the government from our energy sector.

Mr. Cain presents a confusing collage of ideologies, part Libertarian, part liberal, part Conservative. While his views on energy independence and government regulation shade him towards the Libertarian and Conservative platforms, his thoughts on government intrusion in matters of social justice put him firmly at odds with both Libertarians and Conservatives. Perhaps these are some of the reasons Mr. Cain has yet to win any election he’s run in. Mr. Cain is a very natural speaker, who uses a decent platform of delivering the coveted smaller government message to the grassroots movement of the Teaparty. His lack of political experience seems to be considered both a plus by the Teaparty and a huge negative by the longtime GOP operatives that think they know how to win elections. Take note that the GOP failed miserably against a Jr. Senator from the far left with zero credibility in any area of politics or business, one  Barack Hussein Obama.

Mr. Cain would certainly make  some great media clips if he follows through with a Presidential primary campaign in 2012, and you can sure bet that many of the establishment, big name, big spending Rinos in the GOP  do not want to square off against Cain in any Primary debates. In the end, I look for Cain to drop out early, after accepting a deal to support another candidate for *further considerations or appointments*. Using my own formula of common sense, plus political research, conservative rating system, I give Mr. Cain a 46% rating.

President Obama Heads to Brazil, Chile.

AP Photo  March 19: President Obama and the First Family emerge from Air Force One after arriving in Brasilia, Brazil

President Obama is shown here arriving in Brazil for a 5 day trip to Latin America. in which he will also visit Chile. He will be meeting with the first ever female president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff.  She was hand-picked by the former President known largely as Lulu. (Luis Ignacio Lula deSilva) While Obama promotes this trip as a chance to cozy up to the new President of Brazil to enhance trade agreements, in the belief that this former Lulu chief of staff will be any different than Lulu was in his mostly anti-American stances.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Lulu regime, they decided that they would strike up their own diplomacy campaign with Iran, and also refused to condemn the human rights abuses occurring under tyrannical dictator, Ahmadinejad. Lulu basically thumbed his nose at the U.S. when he was asked to condemn such things as political prisoners being executed, and anyone opposing Iran’s regime was often met with swift brutality. To expect any real changes with the relationship between Brazil and the U.S. to come from this trip isn’t very realistic today, when we look at the following facts.

First,  Brazil’s top trading partner is now China, which is still a Communist nation. While many Americans were disgusted with Obama’s administration dumping 2 billion dollars into Brazil’s oil exploration while imposing moratoriums on America’s own oil industry, this next bit of information should really get people asking just what is going on here? You see, in light of the new oil deposit discoveries in Brazil of an estimated 30 – 80 billion barrels, it is China, not the U.S. that has signed a huge deal that gives China 200,000 barrels a day for the next 10 years!  Either someone in our government dropped the ball big-time here, or Lulu/Brazil just decided he wanted to deal with China and shut us out of this deal. Either way, China will benefit from Brazil’s new oil discovery, not the U.S. That deal was signed between China and Brazil in… 2009, by the way. Yes, when Obama was President.

Secondly,  Brazil is also a giant agricultural exporter, competing head-to-head with the United States. Its commercial cattle herd of an estimated 170 million head is the largest in the world and is 50 percent larger than the United States’ herd. That is quite a surprise there. Brazil is among the world’s top economies today, is relatively close to the U.S., and here America sits with no trade agreement with them whatsoever!

Also of note is that Brazil is the largest economy with which the United States does not have a bilateral tax treaty. Noone expects Obama to deliver on the top policy wishes of Brazil, which consist of  a U. S. endorsement to allow Brazil to become a member of the U.N. Security Council and a reduction in tariffs on Brazilian ethanol. Another note of interest here is that while the Whitehouse announced that there will be an open interview session in Brazil during this trip, it has now been changed to no questions allowed, once again. Of course the Whitehouse says Brazil is the one that decided they wouldn’t take questions here. When is the last time we saw any hint of openness and real questions being answered by the Obama regime ?

Obama should feel right at home with the new president of Brazil, as she is an extreme form of community organizer in which she was a Rebel, a left of center politician, is a former guerrilla, who was reportedly a torture victim, and also somehow considered to have been an economist. First and foremost, she is a hand-picked Lulu President and his former chief of staff, and there is no valid reason to think this isn’t just an extension of Lulu’s rule.

Still, Rousseff showed no qualms about distancing Brazil from the United States over Libya. As a non-permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, Brazil was one of five countries that abstained from the vote Thursday that authorized a no-fly zone over Libyan air space. The other four countries not voting to enforce a no-fly zone over Libya were China, Russia, Germany and India. And she has not entirely abandoned the idea of maintaining a dialogue with Iran. Her stance has been to basically tell the U.S. to butt out of their dealings with Iran, it is none of  their business.

With very little chance of accomplishing anything on this trip, we can always look on the bright side. It is appears to be nothing more than another week-long vacation for the Obama  family, to be paid for by the U.S. taxpayer. Everyone likes vacations, right?

CBO to Obama’s Budget: “You Lie!”

That infamous phrase once uttered by Joe Wilson still echoes through the halls of Congress and now.. the Congressional Budget Office.

The CBO Director’s blog included a post by Douglas Elmendorf that detailed some startling mis-truths – untruths for the Orwell fans – or is it minus minus truths?? The synopsis of the CBO’s analysis lays out some staggering deficit figures:

  • Under the President’s proposals, the federal budget deficit would total $1.2 trillion in 2012 and smaller amounts in later years, averaging 4.8 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) over the 2012–2021 period.
  • Deficits would total $9.5 trillion between 2012 and 2021 under the President’s budget, $2.7 trillion more than the amounts projected in CBO’s March baseline. Debt held by the public would rise from 69 percent of GDP in 2011 to 87 percent of GDP in 2021.

While the numbers are alarming, what’s interesting is that the CBO goes on to basically call Obama’s budget a lier:

Compared with the Administration’s estimates, CBO’s estimates of the deficit under the President’s budget are lower for 2011 (by $220 billion) but higher for each year thereafter (by a total of $2.3 trillion over the 2012–2021 period)

Obama’s budget will cost America $2.3 trillion more than his administration and he said it would.  Then again, consider the kind of person coming into Jack Lew’s Office of Management and Budget:

Senator Marco Rubio’s Weekly Newsletter

Marco Rubio - U.S. Senator for Florida E-Newsletter
Fighting for Floridians this week, Marco worked in the Senate toward solutions to our $14 trillion debt crisis and $1.6 trillion budget deficit. Early in the week, he spoke out forcefully against short-term “quick fixes” to the spending bills, and insisted that Congress finally pass a long-term budget plan, something they have refused to do for over a year. See below for more details on these and other issues facing Florida.

Marco Rubio Votes Against The Short-Term Budget Plan

On Thursday, the Senate voted on yet another short-term budget plan to fund the government for another three weeks. But long before Thursday’s vote, Marco came out against this piecemeal approach and insisted that Congress pass a budget for the remainder of the year—something Democrats refused to do when they controlled the House, Senate and White House. Click here to read Marco’s op-ed that ran in RedState, “No More Budget Games.” and see below for Marco’s video response:

Marco’s refusal to be a part of the Senate’s “absurd political theatre” caught the attention of his colleagues and many conservative leaders. On Sean Hannity’s radio show, Marco noted that by skirting our budget and debt issues, we’re hurting our own economy’s recovery and ability to create jobs. Check out the links below for more audio/video clips of Marco this week:

Focus On Cutting Spending…

In a sign of how important the debt crisis is, Marco voted on Monday against proceeding with any legislation that does not seriously address the $14 trillion debt and our government’s over-spending problem. “Until the Senate gets serious about this problem, I will continue standing with my colleagues and blocking any new legislation that fails to directly address this crisis in a meaningful way,” Marco said. Keeping with that sentiment, Marco offered two amendments this week aimed at reining in out-of-control Environmental Protection Agency regulations and reducing government spending. Click here for the amendment details, and see below for an excerpt of Marco’s remarks:

“Last year, when they were in charge, the Democrat leadership refused to pass a budget. Now our government is operating on temporary proposals and we face a serious debt crisis. Yet we still have no serious plan from the Senate Democrat leadership. And the President is completely missing in action,” said Senator Rubio. “It is time to stop funding excessive regulations that will put Floridians out of work. And our government needs to stop spending money it does not have.”

Marco & Sen. John McCain Propose The “Debt Buy Down Act”

On Tuesday, Marco, along with Senate colleague John McCain (R-Ariz.), introduced the Debt Buy-Down Act of 2011. This bill would require the IRS to include a check-off box on tax forms that would give taxpayers the opportunity to designate up to 10 percent of their tax liability be used to pay down the debt. The bill doesn’t ask citizens to give up a portion of their return, rather it simply designates a portion of their taxes be used for this specific purpose. This legislation gives you the power to confront the debt crisis yourself—an innovative solution that empowers the taxpayer to deal with issues that Washington politicians won’t address.

In 2010, Marco proposed this very idea in his “12 Simple Ways To Cut Spending In Washington.” Marco is committed to making his “Ideas To Reclaim America” a reality, and this is yet another step in that direction.

Senators Call On President Obama To Demonstrate Leadership

Marco, along with 22 other Republicans on Wednesday, called on President Obama to be more engaged in the major, generational issues being debated in Congress right now. The letter, spearheaded by Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.), notes that mandatory spending programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are expected to double over the next 10 years. “In order to ensure the long-term viability of these programs, it is imperative that you lead a bipartisan effort to address these challenges,” the Senators wrote to President Obama.

Marco Presses Obama Administration For Libya Stance

During a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing yesterday, Marco questioned William Burns, Under Secretary for Political Affairs at the State Department, about the Administration’s position on the events taking place in Libya. Check out this video of the back-and-forth, and see below for an excerpt of the exchange:

“The United States, quite frankly, looks weak in this endeavor, it looks unwilling to act,” [Rubio] said at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Thursday, highlighting that Britain, France, the Arab League, and the Libyan opposition are all calling on the United States to support stronger measures to stop Libyan leader Col. Muammar al-Qaddafi’s assault on rebels and civilians.

“The president has specifically said that Qaddafi must go but has done nothing since then except for having general debates about it for a week and a half or two,” Rubio said. “Congressional leadership has strongly called for a no-fly zone and nothing has happened.”
